@@andrewgibb9782 just go arma granite. i was looking at redcat for my truck but honestly the value is in the granite. more run time and less wrench time.
Wow 😱 Your not wrong are you ! I thought £150 was a Bit steep for some Chinese , Bangood p.o.s. That was until I googled tamiya Bruiser and Checked out the price of the Remake . I shat a brick 🤣💩
No way the differential gears always goes in my son's 1/16 summit. It would be better with two gearboxes and 2 motors from the bandit and then it would hit it hard without stupid spider beveled gears.
Just a warning. I pulled this quote from the review section for this rig: "I received a car with corrosion on almost every metal part. The body was damaged although the package itself was in good condition. Banggood offers me a 8$ refund for all the problems even though I bought the extra ensurence that promises a full refund or a new car. It's a big scandal to say the least. I give five stars just so this review will be posted." I also discovered that Banggood censors negative reviews on their site, and this one was only there because the reviewer gave the truck 5 stars. Buy with caution! I would have bought this solely on Kev's advice if I hadn't seen these reviews.
How to lock the diff is near the back of the instructions...drop a pin from the parts bag into the top of the diff. Its tight but you don't have the take the car apart there is a set screw on top of the diff you take out to get the pin in.
Great video as usual, thanks! Love watching your vids! Did you ever figure out how to lock the diffs? On the top of page 29 of the manual it shows how to lock the diffs using the two small pins in the parts bag. Takes some finagling to get the pin in place.
I do like the attention to detail although the performance sucks really. Someone needs to 3DPrint miniature Kevin and Pat figures to put inside vehicles :)
Love the extra editing you do for the big show rc's it makes viewing 10X better! keep it up man! good job. How about reviewing some of the new ARRMA 3s rigs? They seem to be quite the bang for the buck rigs. Obviously not going to take the moon flights like the 6s guys but they do hold up pretty damn well from watching Rich Duperbash's channel. Cheers!
To lock the diffs, there is a pin that you need to insert in the diffs. There are screws at the top of the diffs that you need to take off then insert the diff pins in. My friend owns one of those..
Another great review guys some you should definitely do one with the diffs locked up Maybe put it head to head with something else but as always keep up the good work guys love your reviews
DO NOT need to open diffs to lock them. A hole is on axle to drop in a pin. Side note; lock just the rear, remove all leaf springs except one, throw stock tires away, move servo to plate behind bumper. Then, it is actually a pretty decent leaf sprung crawler.
lol you and pat are a perfect combination haha . I bet pat is reading this lol hi . really good vid kev =) your going to hit 1 mil before you know it haha
Cool little truck and thanks for you guys honest review/demo! Hope you guys are like me- when im out and about running RC's and encounter trash, I clean it up.. Looking at trash in your video is a turn-off but I still love you guys!
i wonder if u managed to break it sumhow can u get parts for it and if so would u use tamiya parts , i know iv wanted a bruiser forever but there crazy expencive
This truck is a dead nuts copy of the Tamiya Bruiser . In my opinion it's an awesome deal.1/3 the price of the Tamiya. The most scale rc I've seen you drive!
Hell yeah you got Pat snapping the whip that's what's up that's all right for a little Trail crawler and it can use a few things but that's not my thing anyway brother but is still a cool truck and you know what you building your dream is a lot of money when you're talkin $40,000 and axle $4,000 tires a piece and everything else I can't wait to see your Masterpiece bro it's going to be epic and I'll be your number one fan👊👊👍👍🤙🤙🤙🤙
There's a pin that you have to install to lock the diffs, it's not selectable while running you have to tear the diffs apart to lock and unlock them, just like the tamiya bruiser.
Put a brushless motor and see what it can really do I have one and I have been beating it for a month and have had no problem I up graded the steering bell crank with a aluminum one with ball bearings and I put better servo saver on it witch it made a big difference
Hi kev i got one of those crawlers and the batterys that come with them are sh*t house my battery die with in a couple of outings i then proceeded to pull it apart to see what is in there and the battery is like half the size
Hi Kev I'd like to see you review the WLtoys 10428 b. Iam considering buying it. Just want to know if it's as durable and fun as the WLtoys 10428. Thank you!
You should look into the goped hobby. It is something fantastic and still has a place, but it is overlooked and less popular. Someone like you could bring fame back to it because it is a part of many peoples teenage years.
I got one of these recently. It's not the servo (cheap but not bad as such) so much as the really badly designed placement and linkages that it comes with as a legacy of the original Tamiya design. Not bad for its time as it was helping write the book on crawlers in general. This truck is really a bit of a Faustian bargain. Great low price and a good platform for modding. I bought mine with both eyes open knowing it would have some issues. After running it once I went ahead and, reworked the steering and mounted the servo up front on the chassis (works great), took apart the steering knuckles and filed them a bit so they could move without binding. Removed the springs from the dampers as it was all too bouncy. Oh it came with the rear leaf springs not attached to the rear spring shackles. It goes much better now. New dampers are on the way and I'll most likely replace the tires for something more grippy. If you buy one, just know that it will require a bit of work to make it really 'good'.
Unrelated... but could you do a backflip with the traxxas UDR? I have one but for obvious reasons don't want to try this, my work colleague is adamant it will, even if it doesn't survive/break, send it please
Looks good. I wanna see your nitro savage going again. Also I saw the the exhaust had a dent. That could mess with a lot of stuff. You should try and fix it
Great vid! You can lock the diffs with little pins that you insert from the outisde (you don't need to take it apart), it should show you in the back of the manual but if not, take a look at the Tamiya Bruiser manual! They are decent trucks for the price, I would say they need one or two mods and a going over with threadlock ideally and quality control varies but you can buy one and make it reliable for waaaaaay less than buying the original one. Some half decent tyres go a long way too, the stock ones are too firm. I have a facebook group for this truck if anyone is interested, just search for HG P407
I have a latrax Teton the stock motor is trash burned out in like less than 10 runs snapped every one of the stock axles replaced them with alloys put in a gool rc brushless in it and a 2s Vernon lipo it ran for 20 seconds then sheared off the motor shaft and burned out the leds I added really fun car but really frustrating
To lock the diffs you put a grub screw into the diff. I have a. Set of origional Tamiya bruiser axels practically brand new if you want them Kev with locked diffs
You can lock the diffs without taking it apart. There is an access hole on the axle pumpkin. Shine light inside and move the gearset inside until you see a hole. Then you can put your grub screw to lock the axle. NOTE, my grub screw was slightly too long not allowing the gears to spin in the housing. I ground it down shorter reinstalled, and after a few times, I'd ground down enough to actually let it spin freely inside and not hang up on the housing. Please, do a build on this Bruiser clone. I have also found that removing one leaf from the spring packs helps with articulation. CHEERS from Oso, Washington.

😁👍 That my friend is a clone of a tamiya bruiser!

I believe what happened is that the truck got sent without oil covering the metal bits, when I got mine it was rust free
I have 2 and both arrived in perfect condition
Ordered mine of ebay and used paypal so ill be careful to check when it arrives. Thanks for the heads up
In the back of the manual is where it shows you how to lock the diff
