    Added it to my Addmotor fat tire Ebike after 2 flat tires in 6 months. Haven't had another in a year. This stuff is same principle as slime, but seems to really work well. I've tried slime and still got flat tires. It's more expensive then Slime but my personal experience is this stuff works.

    That the stuff is the bomb. I having been reviewing and touting this product for months and months. I have received so many questions about this product on Amazon, can’t even count. This stuff is the real deal and can stop a puncture up to a 1/2 in. The green goo and the tire inserts don’t perform as well as Flatout! For less than 20 bucks you can do four bike tires. The other products that are on the market just don’t hold a candle to this. I’ve used it I’ve tested it and I have not had a flat yet in over a year of riding my E bike over all kinds of terrain. Good job Chris. I think every bicyclist, motorcyclist, people who have small tractors or even RV trailers, should put this product in their tires. Can’t say enough about it! I have been other videos on it but I’m glad you did yours! You’re an honest guy and a lot of people respect your opinion. I know I do! Thanks again.

    • @EbikeProducts

      @@bbessi3454 yes. Just know it depends on where the hole is and how big for it to work. If it is on the side of the tire/tube or from the valve then it’s less likely to work. If the hole is in the center tread area, it can fix it pretty easily as long as it’s not a tear and just a puncture.

    Thanks for the video. Have you seen Tannus Tire Armor? EDIT: I was going that route after we had a flat on a Harley. 4 bottles of slime didn't work. Then, we got it to hold air with FlatOut aerosol cans. His bike slung goo for 50 miles going home...! These knobby stock tires are thin and easily punctured. There is a flat protector tire liner like thick tape that looks promising. Uses stock inner tubes and then add flatout to that combination for optimum flat protection vs the weight of the Tannus liners...

    • @EbikeProducts
      @EbikeProducts  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I have a bunch of Tannus liners that I never installed after I put it in 2 bikes (this was before I started using flat-out).
      I love the soft ride it gave me, but the liners are such a pain to install and they begin to flatten over time and lose their effectiveness to prevent flats. I’ve only had 2 flats since using flat-out due to the sidewalls getting gashes too big for flat out to stop and reach. Tannus would not have done any better. Since flatout has been super effective and the easiest to install, it’s all I ever use now.

    If while squeezing flat out into the inner tube, and flow stops, you have an air-lock. Disconnect the tube from the air fill valve, hold the hose above the bottle of flat-out, and let the fluid flow back into the bottle. Then, raise the bottle upside down above the hose and squeeze bottle so it just starts to flow out of the end of the hose, and immediately attach the hose to the inner tube inlet and start squeezing the fluid into the tire. This works!

    I've gone tubeless wherever I could (three bikes with wider than 2.0 inch tubeless ready tires). The rims don't have to say "tubeless ready". My four other skinnier tire bikes all have have tubes that I patch once, and only once, in case of a flat. The interesting part is that sometimes my patch leaks slightly, so, instead of redoing the patch, I inject sealant into the tube, and, voila, the leak is sealed and stays sealed. This technic is something that comes in very handy when touring for weeks on the open road. I only take with me a plastic bottle of sealant and a length of tubing that fits over the valve stem; no need to remove the core.

    I use Flatout on my wheelbarrows, lawnmowers and bikes. The tubes retain pressure much better too, in addition to the flat prevention feature. Great video for sharing this essential information. Flatout works better than the latex based sealants in that it is more durable. I added the latex sealant three months before a bike trip and it didn't work at all when I got a puncture. Flatout is the best.

    I recently got my first ebike. A fat tire version to boot. I was watching videos to learn more about ebikes and maintenance and came across someone testing various flat preventative measures and all videos point to FlatOut being the best option. I was putting off purchasing it till i had all the necessary gear like a new helmet, goggles, phone mount, proper tools, etc etc and flat prevention was an afterthought as i have patches and pumps with me at all times. It is kind of a pain getting a wheel off on electric bikes with hub motors, as i learned from a flat, that i put the FlatOut on top of the priority list. I had my ebike since 7/14 and have already put about 350 miles on it and have had a flat, so FlatOut is now in my tires. I have to install my torque arms now as they came in yesterday.

    • @SebastianLong
      @SebastianLong 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I’m in groups with other disabled people who I’m trying to talk into getting a Rig #notawheelchair but some can pedal with one side, so I recommend trikes to them. They can attach the bad foot to a pedal and use their good side to pedal. That would actually do the work of a physical therapist because their bad side will get plenty of range of motion exercises. I just need to find a one hand steering wheel and that helps everyone. I’m thinking like the steering wheel on a Model A car.

      @@EbikeProducts if discussing adaptive biking is something you’d like to tackle on the advice side that’d be great. We make TH-cam videos about everything adaptive, including a lot of adaptive sports. Our last video was about how difficult it is to attend an outdoor BBQ. Going from sidewalk to grass is a guaranteed popping a wheelie in a wheelchair and its extremely dangerous. This is why I want off paved surfaces transportation for people in wheelchairs. Thankfully I’m not in a wheelchair so I can help others get around but I can’t be there for everyone and they deserve access to public areas and the only way to ensure that is various forms of electric bikes.

    When I first got my Sondors e-bike it was running well with no flats at all. Riding in NYC you run into a lot of construction sites and one day I picked up a small tack nail. I was hoping to make it to work before the wheel went flat but nope. Lucky my bike folds and I was able to put it in a cab and get home. I ordered Armor dilloz red for my rear tire and that worked extremely well. But the price was hefty for a 20 oz bottle. When I got my second flat I started to look up something else that didn't cost as much and worked as well or better. That when I saw a video from a guy testing the different brands and Flat-Out beat all of them even when the guy drilled a quarter size hole in the tire, it still sealed it shut. So I order a bottle from Amazon and the price was half the price less then the Armor Dilloz, and you got away more for the price in the bigger bottle. Haven't had any flats ever since and I even had my tires upgraded and there was no leaks in the tires. Works great and when ever I talk to anyone about flats, I tell them to order Flat-Out and you'll never get flats again.

      @EbikeProducts  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I did have 1 flat from a wire that sliced the sidewall. Flatout repaired it for a few miles and a couple of days when I leaned the bike and allowed it to seal the tear. It was too big of a rip though and it inevitably tore larger when we took the bike off-road and bounced around on it too much.
      I have not had any other flats for a few years since using flatout on at least a dozen or more e-bikes. Seriously, the stuff is amazing. I no longer use liners since I started using flatout. I don’t find it necessary. The flat I got from the wire would’ve not been prevented with a liner either and that’s the only problem I’ve ever had.

    Hi, thank you for your video and for your time!
    Why did you only put 8 Oz per wheel (I have a Rad Bike and I use the same fat tires) if the Flat Out site recommends 16 Oz per wheel?
    Were they enough for you? Because the difference is remarkable. I just ordered Flat Out and I'm undecided on the quantity, as 16 Oz seems like a lot to me. Thanks again and have a nice life!

    • @EbikeProducts
      @EbikeProducts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thanks for the comment and question! I actually do put the full 16oz per tire (which is half the bottle) on a 26” fat tire bike. It really is a lot of fluid, but since the tire is so big, it helps the liquid to find the holes. Also, if the thorn or nail is a little higher on the sidewall, the more liquid there is the better chance it will reach up higher on the sides.

      @krazyfire1013 4oz may not be able to reach a hole fast enough or cover enough surface area to in general unless you have a tire that is a lot smaller than a fat bike. As you ride the liquid spreads throughout the tire due to the rotation and force so it thins out quite a bit.

    • @EbikeProducts
      @EbikeProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EricJaakkola I thought so too, but I don’t notice a difference. I think it’s because the rotation makes the liquid spread out while riding, but I really don’t know if it does or not. I’m sure the added weight and time it takes for the liquid to spread out from a dead stop makes a little inefficient drag, but it’s so minimal that I feel it’s totally worth it not to get flats.

      Yes. You’re right. The valve stem core should be removed and the stem near the top. I’ve done it a few of times, especially when the tire bead doesn’t get seated evenly all the way around.

    • @EbikeProducts
      @EbikeProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      I posted this next part of my reply on another commenter who asked about Flat-out.
      _"About 4 months ago I actually got a flat tire on a 26" Fat tire ebike that had Flat-out sealant in it! I ran over the middle of a stiff wire that made the sharp end of it curl and puncture the side wall. Nothing could have prevented the flat (other than me not running over the wire). Interesting thing that later happened when I pumped the tire up again to find the hole, I rotated the tire and leaned the bike to let the sealant find it and it completely sealed the sidewall tear! I needed to take a 2 day trip so I left the bike to see if it would hold and it did! We made a review video and took it off-road and our bouncing around tore the hole bigger so inevitably I needed to change the tube out. All that being said, Flat-out worked like a champ even for a tear. I do not ever recommend anyone continue to ride a bike that has a tear on the sidewall, but I was impressed on how well the sealant worked on a hole that any of its competitors would not have been able to make rideable."_
      I continue to put flat out in all my ebikes and still believe its the best thing out there to prevent flats. The tear was about 5mm wide and I am still in disbelief that it sealed it so well where we could go off road with the ebike before the tear got bigger and the air leaked out and needed to be leaned over again to be resealed. I have footage of that day and hope to find a good way to make a story for youtube about it soon.
      Seriously, if Flatout ever becomes a publicly traded company, I'd buy a ton of stock just for the fact that I believe in it so much. I know I'd have had at least 6-10 more flats over the last year if I didn't use it.

      Disclaimer, I am speaking from experience only, but not sure what flatout would say. I have repaired flats using flatout and other sealants in the past, AND recently I had a tear in the tube so bad (in the sidewall) that flatout found the hole only after leaning the bike and putting more air in it. Most other sealants would not have worked at all. The tear ended up ripping more 5 days later and leaking after we took it off roading and forgot it was damaged. BUT we again leaned the bike and put more air to get us home but won't do that again.
      I would say yes, but you may want to ask their customer service directly for an official answer. They have a web form on their website to ask questions as it may depend what kind of leak you have.

      I’m planning on doing a video soon on how to repair an already flat tire using Flatout. Depending on what caused the flat, you can actually put Flatout in and it can fix it.
      Keep in mind, it’s not a guarantee and you could end up wasting 1/2 a bottle if it doesn’t work. My plan is to make 2 holes in a tire simulating a screw puncture, thorn puncture in a tire without Flatout.
      Then I’m going to add it in and see if it seals it. Then keep it the way it is and do a follow up a week later while doing daily rides in between.

    I have a small leak. Dont know where. Do I have to fix the air leak and then add the flatout? Or the flatout will fix the airleak?

    • @EbikeProducts
      @EbikeProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. I’m not sure what anyone else would advise, but depending where the leak is, flat out could be a super fast and easy fix. Keep in mind that if the flat is the valve or on the side of the tire, it will be harder for flat out to work. BUT, if it’s a puncture on the main part that hits the road, flat out can most likely fix it. 4 days ago I had my first flat after starting to use flat out on a review bike that I was riding for the first time. My tire punctured and I stopped to adjust the camera not knowing that there was a hole and had the tire in a position (not moving) on the higher side of the wheel so flat out wasn’t reaching it.
      I walked the bike home and pumped up the tire to find the hole and spun the tire. FLAT OUT found the hole and sealed it! I am actually going to make a video on it since I was filming everything and was going to demonstrate fixing a rear flat with a patch, but ended up not needing to do it since flat out fixed it for me.
      Before I used flat out, I had a bike shop fix a flat with another sealant and it still holds air today, so I know sealants can fix many flats just by adding it as long as it’s not the sidewall, valve, or a tear. So try hard to find the leak so you don’t waste time or money trying it if it’s not sealable.

      If you run tubeless, you will need to be prepared to work on it keeping in mind that the sealant is in the tire and you will want to work in a way to catch the liquid. If it is in a tube, it's really not that messy at all the sealant will stay in the tube. Believe it or not, but I've heard that some people will empty out the sealant from old tubes and tires and will reuse it again. I think it would be easier to just put new stuff in a new tire, but since it lasts 10 years anyway, I can understand why they'd reuse it.

I think they said it was still working in a tire up to 10 years long (you may need to check their website for exactly how long that was). I’ve heard slime is really messy, but I’ve not have Flatout be hard to clean. I’ve never bought slime to add in my tires, Lectric does add them in all their bikes now.
      Flatout sent me a couple of bottles a few years ago and I continue to buy the gallon bottles for the last few months since so I have their sealant in all my bikes. I’ve had punctures seal completely and even rips seal enough to get me home that I don’t think slime could’ve helped.

Any liquid in tires there shops that just won't fix your flat if you have put that in your tires because it's just extremely messy to deal with if that flat liquid can't seal it .

      O and by the way I have yet to get a flat with the tuff armor yet and I have literally gone off road into weeds to get to some places.🤭

      Slime contaminates the outside rubber if a slash puncture occurs, patches won't stick even after washing the area

    great video but I have a question, after put the flatout, what is the pressure you put back in the tire? same like you had before or less for the liquid?
    thanks and happy holidays

      I put air back in the tire the same as before putting the flat out in. I actually never thought about adding a different amount. I honestly don’t know if there should be a difference, but I usually inflate about 3-5 pounds less than max suggested pressure.

    Is this for tubeless tyres only?

    Was an inner-tube used on the tire?

    Could i put this in my inner tube that just got flat or does it need to be a new tube?

      In my opinion and experience, depending on how the flat occurred and how old the tube is will make a difference on whether you want to try it or not.
      If the leak is from a thorn or nail type puncture where the tire touches the road, then as long as the tube isn’t really old, it should seal it and you’ll be good to go.
      If the tube is old or the leak is from the valve or sidewalk of the tube and tire, then you should get a new tube.

    So would it be a good idea just to carry a pump and a flat out with you in case you need it rather than putting it in now or is that's just being stupid with extra steps?

      I would definitely put it in now. It's not that hard to do and I have found (in the past) flats always happen when you're in a rush or when it's 105 degrees and the most miserable conditions to have to work on your bike away from home.
