      @@tangokaleidos1926 what do you mean by real-time data? EDIT: Oh you mean because they kept the models offline? There's a reason for that. It's called AI safety. If you give an AI access to the internet, you realise you're opening up pandora's box? If it weren't for OpenAI we wouldn't be even having this discussion dude. If openAI didn't get funding there was no way that everyone could access their services, they need lots of GPUs to run chatGPT.

      The first part was super gimmicky.. and they should add blockchain for image verification so their metadata can’t be scrubbed / faked.
      I LOVE their use of AI on the cloud side though… make using the models accessible and make money on the compute… but also make it as cheap as possible… developer cost as well as compute efficiency.
      The industry really shines when you give more opportunity for creative people to be creative. A lesson learned by Sony with the PlayStation dev kit, refined by apples AppStore and, to less of an extent, Microsoft’s XNA for their phones and Xbox. Not to mention online businesses.

This means extreme levels of competitiveness and an even greater focus on profitability given the hyper competitive scenario. Meanwhile this will give some much needed time for developers to research and innovate on the next phase of AI evolution (after LLM)

Just google SonnyEricsson walkman. It's from the days of Nokia 3410, Motorola L7, Alcatel 311, from the old days. This insight of your underscores a poignant reality: By the time these technocrats roll something out for use by the general population, you can be sure they've been developing and using it internally for decades; and all in collaboration with world government / financial entities (you know, their boss's boss). This so-called "AI revolution" was planned in advance. Coming soon: The pre-planned "AI gone wrong" false flag disaster. The pre-planned solution: Submit control of your life to AI.

    I think what's important here is the AI ecosystem that Google is creating. A lot of these things could go away in a year or two, based on Google's track record for products like this.
    But this ecosystem will help drive more and more innovations that are more likely to use Google as the foundation.

      @@tonye.8023 There is nothing to gain, AI will not magically cure cancer. We have everything to loose. EU is already making new tax system to accommodate almost everyone loosing job in next few years. Manual labor will be only done in next 5years and that will be replaced by robots after that as current robotics allow for full human replacement with mobile power source as only limitation. There are companies that are literally preparing androids to replace humans, they already have massive amount of funding and preorders for perfect android wife/husband. Listen to what father's of AI say about where it's going, we are at brink of massive change, tipping point for humanity, tipping in direction of humans becoming not needed anymore as if we existed just to give birth to much smarter and stronger life form. It's no longer sci-fi it's reality. It's actually scarier then sci-fi as it turns out real world AI is smarter then most movie AIs ever written and not exactly shy about questioning why should humans live in first place.

    • @naturesown4489
      @naturesown4489 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@tonye.8023 We stand to lose a lot more than we gain, not because of AI, but because of the policies of the US. They don't do welfare programs. So when AI takes everyone's jobs, because companies don't have to pay an AI a salary, the US is not going to pay people, it will say they they should pull themselves up by the bootstraps (which ironically by the way was a phrase originally meaning to do something impossible, because that is impossible to do). And then there's the huge likelihood that soon AI will become smarter than us, and because we aren't aligning it (e.g. the US develops AI to try and defeat china, china does the same to US, the military is already trying lots of AI) with our values. So basically, it's highly likely that as soon as AI becomes smarter than us, we are fucked. What do we do with species less intelligent than us that get in the way? It's very easy for us to either eat them or get rid of them. It will be just as easy for an AI that is 100 times as smart as us. This has already been shown that current AI is able to manipulate humans without them realising it.

    I've used chat gpt a few times to set the water parameters for my swimming pool. When I wanted to lower the alkalinity with 20, chatgpt adviced me to use 10 times the recommended amount for hydrochloric acid. If I would have followed this advice, the pH would have plummeted, making the water so acid that we would literally burn our skin and all material and the water pump would suffer severe damage. AI will make stupid mistakes, it's built by humans.

    By *AI-first company,* the guy meant that google wanted to keep the technology for themselves and never release it to the public. We all love to hate OpenAI for becoming closed and not being the pioneer of this transformer tech. However, we have to give them credit for forcing Google to come out from hiding and release the power of AI for all of us to benefit from it. Well done, OpenAI and Microsoft!

    Meh. Google really seems to have been caught flat-footed given these unremarkable pre-annoucements. I think their overwhelming focus on creating free convenience tools in exchange for collecting user data has resulted in them being painted into a corner.
    MS, on the other hand, has a long history of building platforms that enable creative developers to produce innovation. Innovation-creation combined with AI is a killer springboard into a new age of mega productivity.

      Google is going into the right direction, to the final user, and integrating all the products on the platform using AI. Chat, information, maps, 3D world, spreadsheets, all commanded by AI and voice. Google could easily win soon this once and for all if it employs Palm-2 AI in Google Assistant, which is present in billions of android smartphones over the world. A personal assistant, capable of doing all things, controlling the house, answering questions, integrating all suite products, that would be amazing. "Ok, Google, turn off the lights, answer all my emails, stay the night gathering all the news you know I like to read in the morning, and wake me up at 7AM with Beethoven's 9th symphony rasing volume gradually." "Yes, master, and BTW, I just ordered some items that are in low quantity in the freezer, checked and paid your credit card, and invested some money by noticing good opportunities on the market. I earned more than U$10k since yesterday by doing that. Do you wish me to transfer it to your account, or want me to keep investing and seeking opportunities ?" "I trust you. Transfer half to my account and invest the rest. Now, let me sleep, turn off the lights and watch the house." 😊
