OMG forgot how much Community service they provided with regularly operations and all those silly little updates. Started playing in 2014 and got to experience that Halloween update, alot of fun. Good old times Sadge.
Ah man... how in the earth 2014 Halloween update is Forgotten ? Both Game TF2 & CSGO Same Halloween Style with Mask Terrorist Side... Just Like 2009 TF2 First Halloween Special Update... ah... i sad for this valve drop making those updates... thats why i hated valve these days.

a small detail is that in the winter updates there was a hud overlay saying "seasons greetings" with some frost and shit when you died as it zoomed in on the player who killed you. I can't remember if this was only in deathmatch but it's defiantly something I remember fondly.

it was casual and DM only, but every year it was bugging its was on competitive for random reasons (CSGO running on spaggheti code is pretty self explanatory)

I honestly miss the old main menu look. Is panorama objectively superior? Yeah probably. But the old scaleform UI had that real counter-terrorist/war room vibe to it that really fits the game better aesthetically.

What a trip memory lane going through all the updates CSGO got over the years. The one I barely remember was the gift package thingy which works in the same way as the gift catapult for TF2.
It's a shame that the game has come to an end and Valve is moving on from it and putting all their focus on CS2.

same. i especially hated when they changed the knife sounds. they all sound plastic
The 'roll-oll' was not caused by 'crappy computers'. The sound buffer in source engine games will just continually play whatever sound is in the buffer if the program is loading other elements (or crashed). If your system was fast enough it might not pause, but this would be abnormal- even if you had an excellent PC for the time you'd probably still hear this because it was more of how levels and assets are loaded in source and GoldSrc engine games. They did eventually fix it though.

I think you forgot the old CS:GO UI. The old scaleform UI was so nostalgic, but I like the panorama more. But dang, watching this video takes me back to memory lane, especially with the gun sounds 😂

my favourite scaleform feature was when you randomly wouldnt be able to type a specific letter until you restarted
@@done panorama kinda still does this with the letter "h" in the console. many memories of having to copy a random h from the console and then pasting everytime I needed to type something with h in it

its worth to mention that halloween 2018 event was the most hated event in the community because in community servers once players got killed they were straight up exploiting the maps and trolling , i remember that you could use stuff like buttons, doors as a ghost and it maked playing modes like jailbreak literally unplayable because terro after dying could open all jail cells and helps terrorist, there was aswell game breaking bug with those ghost where you could crash servers by spamming some command in console
That was the same one that killed Cobblestone right?

I love how the only thing they changed to the AWP sound was make it slightly more high resolution.
Also remember how the hitboxes used to be COMPLETELY broken and the game was pretty much unplayable? I don't miss that lol.

I've been watching for 7 months only just realised I'm not subscribed, damn. Great video man.
I had two notes that would of made for fun facts since you didn't get to play them when they were active:
-During the 2017 cobble halloween event while you were a ghost, you could also spray graffiti near enemies and teammates to give away positions and scare them.
-During the CS20 event that rotated to the older version of dust 2 every second round, both maps were actually loaded at once, just with one layered above the other, so the only thing that changed between rounds were the spawn points.
I had completely forgotten about the achievement badges. being affected by stats from bot lobbies, they were never really anything special to see.. It was a cool idea, just poorly executed..

Why dont video game developers do silly things like this anymore? I never got to experience gaming in 2010-2015 when stuff like this happened, I remember customizing my games to make them seasonally themed lol.

You say the Roll-oll was most likely due to lacking hardware. I can assure you, it was not. It was random as to IF it happens, but the lag was always exactly the same. Hardware dependent lag would mean sometimes you would only hear for example Roll-l. Also, I had also experienced Roll-oll on a high end maschine.
I am nostalgic for Roll-oll.

I got my first PC at the end of 2018 and instantly started playing a ton of CS. I knew I would love the game, I just didn’t have a reason to move from console. Funny enough I made the change in order to work on my Rocket League career and to play Rainbow Six Siege on mouse and keyboard. I remember enjoying cobble shortly before it got removed which was kind of a let down. Seeing all these updates just reminds me of all the things I missed in my 2nd most played game and probably favorite game I’ve played seriously.

7:37 Dust 2 used to have wooden, bangable doors on mid. Walk mid (for T you could spawn in front of the door so no walking needed) and then snipe. That's why so many players had the achievement, for T-spawn D2, you could just hold still, AWP mid, get a pick, and then get counter-picked and die. Your team wins the round, you get the achievement.

One of the most forgotten updates is the one which changed old round win and lose themes. They were sooo good and it's sad that they are not available even in the form of a music kit.
Who here remembers when you could talk to the enemy during half time? They NEED to bring that back
I remember being so mad at the new sounds lmao; I still think alot of them were better. M4a1, Usp-s and mp9 all sucked before thats for sure though
old ak is too loud and is a lazy rip from l4d2 ak sound, m4a1s and usp is literally the css sound, rest is mid overall except maybe the awp but the old and new sounds are pretty similar
@@fromaguez love me some old AK, the AWPs main change was it being way quieter, I really did enjoy it sounding like an actual rifle was fired when I can hear the thing more than 20m away

To be fair I still had from time to time the "Lets roll oll" sound bug back in the days while i was playing on a brand new computer that wasn't trash, like at all. I think this sound bug appears because while it played this sound queue at the same time the game was loading the map in, to start the match at the same time. Funny enough I still using the same computer i bought ten years ago and it's still run fine.

The "let's roll-oll" is both because of weak pc's at the time and the game now loading after the sound has finished playing.

I wish I played more back when I first started I believe Dec 2014. I remember so much of this stuff and the game felt so new playing it for the first time as my friend got me into it. I still love the old menu and trade ups the most while watching buckethead anomaly and buying my own 50 cent skins for the first time. The excitement was different

I remember when they were gradually changing the gun sounds and it was so weird at first. Looking back some of those old sounds were rly bad like the p250 for example.
