Of course, Caleb is not the problem
The dude is gonna be a star.
The coaching staff is the problem
And it's painfully obvious to everyone except the bears GM and ownership

The OL play is likely the worst in the NFL. Especially up the middle.
What’s sad? We are exactly THREE games in, and people are already trying to make blanket statements.
Let’s couch the hot takes, and let the kid play…..providing the OL and OC don’t get him killed.

@@blackbeltben2775 Williams is far above league average in time to throw (hovering around 2.3seconds, league average closer to 3), Justin Fields was ranked dead last of eligible QBs in 2023. Fields rushing ability definitely helped the offense, but acting like he did not have glaring issues in the pocket is dead wrong. Caleb is a clear upgrade in ability to throw with anticipation, feel pressure, and throw over the middle of the field. Im super happy for Justin winning in Pittsburg, but he had 3 years to improve on those categories which he struggled, and he simply did not do enough.

I paused less than a minute in. Right off the bat talking about look at all this movement on offense, making the defense move. Yeah cool. But is it maybe too much for a rookie QB in game 3. What if we just ran a quick slant to DJ or Keenan or a curl to Kmet. End of the game he started doing it that's why the 360 yards. Do we really need a 4 man motion then a screen to swift or a route to DeAndre Carter. Do we need Homer & Everett because they "know Waldrons system". Less screen, screen, screen, deep ball. More intermediate routes to the SUPERSTAR playmakers we have!!

Other than that, he’s played fine and is showing he has potential as a rookie QB. The O line and offensive scheme has to be better for him though and the WR’s have to get open more often. @@infamous_moses yes they need time to adjust. But during that time there should be glimpses of what they were drafted for. All of Caleb’s chances of doing that have been complete overthrows and misses unfortunately. The only reason I’m even so hard on him compared to the rest of the rookies is because how bears fans, national, Chicago media praised him as the next coming, the best thing since sliced bread, glazing him up like a donut. If there’s criticism more than usual it’s because of those people. I’ve written somewhere else what I thought about him before the draft. I said he’s closer to manziel than mahomes. Shit I pray he’s not cuz that would suck as a bears fan. But watching him conduct himself since being drafted I’ve changed my tune and have given him credit for being humble and learning, for being a leader, and now he just needs to be accurate more consistently. Ball security is job security, so they say. The Bears bad o-line is only highlighting Caleb's flaws. Caleb's flaws: fumbles too much, takes too many sacks, inconsistent play from the pocket, plays hero ball too much, plays out of structure too much. Can he play consistently from the pocket is a question yet to be answered. Right now, I view him as a guy who plays school yard ball who occasionally plays from the pocket. Caleb is playing exactly the same way he did in college, only he's not getting away with those out of structure throws. Can he be a pocket passer? If not, then he's a bust.

@@PatriotWatchUSA We're not going to do this with Caleb. He's being compared to Mahomes, and he's plays nothing like Mahomes from the pocket. The "experts" & fans say the Bears are going to the playoffs, and they're not. You just compared him to Justin. It took the Bears 3 years before he got a #1 WR in DJ Moore whom Caleb can't seem to get him the ball. The Bears still have a trash o-line. They ruin Justin. Btw, Joe Burrow in his first 3 starts had 600 yards passing 4, tds and 0 turnovers. Caleb is a turnover machine.
That 363 yards passing was mostly empty stats. 122 of those yards came in the 4th when they were trailing by double digits, and the Colts went to a prevent defense. Not to mention, 44 yards came on a hail mary right before halftime. So Caleb really had 197 yards when the game was still doubt, plus the 3 turnovers. Meanwhile Jayden has a 111.8 compared to Caleb's 65.3. Remember the Bears supposed to have talent. Just wait when the weather gets bad, it's going to get worse. I was born in 1967, In my lifetime, since George Halas in 1967 the Bears have had 3 coaches with a winning record: Mike Ditka 106-62, Lovie Smith 81-62 and Matt (WTF) Nagy 34-31
After Matt the next 2 best coaches are Dick Jauron (35-45) and then Dave Wandstedt (40-56)
Yes the O-line sucks, yes Waldron sucks but we haven't had a winning head coach in a long time, when Matt Nagy is looking good you know something is fundamentally broken. For what it's worth there have been 2 coaches with a worse record then Eberflus: John Fox 14-34 and Abe Gibron (early 1970s) 11-30-1, if the Bears lose next week he'll pass John Fox for next to last, 3 more losses after that and he'd be in first place as worst record in 50 years.
So in a history of pointless coaches in the past 50 years Eberflus is in top 3 worst. Trubisky (reach on draft) , Fields and Williams are not the problems.
