At least it gets the job done, so it should earn you money in the long run. Plus you don´t have to spend 30k on a new battery in 8-10 years like with the EV:s @@Expedition18
@@PetrolJunkie I get 47 mpg out of my diesel, and makes sweet turbo noises. So it’s definitely worth buying the right diesel, definitely would never buy modern diesel. Did you see all that emissions garbage underneath the bottom of the truck?
Great move by the marketing crew at Stellantis to loan you that truck. Your reviews are way more enjoyable than the usual cookie cutter ones. RAM’s interiors (and sound proofing) are spot-on, and that rear suspension eliminates the usual sideways hop in turns on broken surfaces. I’ve owned the 1500 version of the Rebel, and this looks like the went-off-to-college cool sibling. I wonder if those are Katzkins leather seat coverings.
The coil springs improve the ride when you're not towing, which is 99% of the time for most people. Toyota went coil spring in the new Tundra and Tacoma for the same reason.
@@monunyabidness5949 a high sprung rate coil will ride worse than a soft leaf pack(which better handle wider rangeof loads than coils), of course it can be part of the package that yields better ride if designed to. Using static spring for towing requires higher rate, undermining ride quality, need OEM on board air ride or rear only bags to optimize both.
I love the fact that the people are rejecting these prices on pickup trucks. TH-cam is filled with videos about this issue. I'm not in the market for one of these but I will watch your entertaining videos.
Any one else notice that our Sarah gets more excited when reviewing off road vehicles? 😁 Great review Sarah and I enjoy all the energy you put into your video's! You are an amazing content creator!! Thank you! 😍
As a Power Wagon owner, the Rebel is pretty much Offroad appearance package. Nothing like a Wagon. No front locker, no swaybar disconnect, no winch, etc. The Power Wagon also uses a Hybrid AAM 10.5/11.5 for clearance reasons.
Just specced one 90k net price. Damn it’s been a few years since I’ve even done that to a modern heavy duty. That’s ouch but these new rams are nice. Just a shame I still don’t want one used and out of warranty.
Another great review Sarah!! As has been posted, your reviews are way more entertaining than most others. Thank you for your service, and thank you for all the hard work you put in to bring us quality content.
New Rams are incredible. I always wanted a Land Cruiser and my 2020 Ram Laramie with the 4x4 off road package feels better built and the interior is like a Mercedes. I heard Monroe or somebody like that say Ram made a big mistake and made them far nicer than they should have. It's the first vehicle that I've owned that I know for sure can last 10 years and be almost like new at the end. And the pushbutton AWD, 4x4 hi and low, and locking rear diff are just magical. That Rebel HD looks similar - crazy well built and just wonderful to drive.
$85k is a tough sell for a work truck no matter how rich you are. I like how Ford now offers the XL Off-Road package truck! It’s like a “Tremor Lite”. You spec something similar with Ram Tradesman.
@@SarahnTunedalso outrageous car prices is the reason why Chrysler (or should I say Stellantis) still offers RAM 1500 Classic - way more affordable than the current generation RAM 1500
Yup 85k and food is going up Houses r going up I dream of a TRD Sequoia but same it's pricey maybe I will go back to old school like 2 door Yukon then upgrade that cheaper then new
You realize you were doing that movie theme in *perfect pitch*, right? Yup, your key matches John Williams. Another S-n-T bonus. 😁 Lol'ed at the first wheel-off-the ground shot. All that was missing was a fire hydrant.
Well done. I have the RAM 2500 Hemi 4x4 Laramie which is about 20 feet long. You will want to disable rear parking sensors if a hitch ball is left installed. Drive friendly and stop in traffic so you can see the rear tires of the vehicle ahead due to the tall hood. Bed-length running boards are a necessity for us.
I wheel an '86 Ramcharger so I fully understand the nothing but blue sky over the hood in a full size. Taking a cue from modern trucks I mounted a camera in the grille with the screen on the cage to reduce the pucker factor a bit. I find most of the excess gadgetry on new trucks kind of annoying, but knowing whether or not you're fixing to drive off a thousand foot cliff can be fairly useful information.
Compared to other reviewers you kill it. You’re fun, entertaining and eye candy all in one package, not to mention super knowledgeable in the tech department. ❤
I absolutely love your reviews! I was excited when I first heard that ram was finally building this truck. The power wagon has been my dream truck for a long time. However I’m no longer into going out wheeling and beating up my trucks. I tow and haul a lot more now. And this truck is the perfect mix.
That is a nice color blue. I actually like the features that it has, especially with all the camera options. One thing on the back seat the plastic things you flipped up under the seat are actual feet. They fold over to give you a completely flat back area for groceries or tool boxes.
Done right this truck will become very popular. No need for extra power with less mpg ratings. The question is how well will it hold up over time excluding abuse?? I like it too
Extra power doesn't mean less MPG any more. When you want a lot of power, the turbo spins up and you can rev the engine higher. Rolling down the highway, the RPMs are lower and the turbo is not doing much.
Air Force ❤️ Love the pointer! 🤣🤣🤣 sold my 2007 6.7 2500 and really miss it. 280K miles. Two diesel particulate filters, an ECM and Turbo replacement, water pump and power steering in the first 150k. Pretty lame and $$$$$ . I loved the engine. Probably better built now. Great review! Flew Air Force jets back in “ the day”.
GREAT review as always. However, just 3-5 years ago pickups cost so much less. I got my 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 with the 6.2L and all options for $55K. Now they are $80K+. The 2500 AT4, closer to $100K. But, people are buying them...
This is a truly thorough review while also being up to your entertainment standards. Testing a working truck for driving quality without having it loaded seems a bit unfair.
Love it! I had a 99 and a 03 Dodge Cummins and they were $34K and $36K SLT models. The 03 was very nice. No cat either on those years. 25 mpg/99 and 23mpg/03. Wish they'd weren't so expensive now. 😪
Now that is one big truck, unbelievable how performed thru the grave. As a work truck it looking every bit the part, but the price is too high. Excellent review as always.
nice grille, nice tires, nice colour, nice seats, nice review Sarah ~ thanx watched twice after you personally scored 9.5 - I want one ! note; For what I know...I say it handled the gravel so well, was because of it's weight & those most excellent tires
Sarah, GREAT review! I do think going down that steep descent, low range would have been beneficial, not only to save your brakes, but it’s more controlable and inspires confidence. That was pretty steep! A lot of weight was being held by those brakes!
The 68RFE gets a lot of flack. All I know is my 2012 3500 with 159k miles hasn’t missed a beat. And it’s had a 100hp tune for at least half those miles.

Sure I'll spend a few minutes on a Friday evening with the Greatest TH-camr in the Universe.
Too bad the title is incorrect. Nice Rebel, definitely not a Power Wagon.
How refreshing to see a diesel truck review. Now, just have to earn a million dollars to afford it.
And another million to keep the tank full
Another million to keep it on the road. Diesel engine cost to operate and repair is higher than a gas engine not counting fuel cost differences. 💁♂️

The 2500 will still hop a bit but the coils are just stiffer. What the coils will do is flex wayyyy more than even my 4runner did.

Also has the shifter on the steering wheel.

Nice Offroad piece, not as honest as Car Gurus, Pretty gimmicky.
Awesome Truck! I always wanted to drive a Ram, you're so lucky to get the chance Sarah.
As for 100k trucks, at least this one is capable of doing everything

Next time use the exhaust brake while your testing it.
You should crush the standard braking distance by 10 or 15 ft.
