- Welcome back to the next installment of Alpha Omega! In this series, I go over a brief history of the locomotives with the lowest and highest number on the railroad's active and all-time roster. After much deliberation and research on various engines in the roster, we'll be covering a grand total of six engines on the roster of one of two class 1s on the east coast: CSX. Hope you enjoy!

9280,9280,9280… my fav loco on csx, which I’ve caught. Standard cab for the win 💪
As always, I found this to be an informative video! I knew about the CSX 1 in Toledo (the 25-tonner), but I didn't know that it was a _narrow-gauge_ locomotive or what it was used for!
Thanks for making this!
UPDATE: CSX 18742 is the all time Ultimate Omega in the latest episode of Alpha Omega.
This is a one of a kind 15 ton storage battery locomotive built in 1917 used for a Newport News Shipbuilding dock company before being sold to the C&O, Chessie System and CSX at their Huntington shops. The engine was later retired in the 90s and was donated to the Baltimore Railroad Museum.

I wish that CSX would paint the C40-8s into older paint schemes and be and be effectively heritage units that show their just after the merger.
Reason being it would be a small glimpse into the years right after the merger. Heck I would love to see at least a few of the older locomotive like SD40-2s (and their upgrades), GP38-2s (and their upgrades) painted into the original liveries that proceeded CSX. That probably won’t happen as they already have the heritage units in progress.
Forgot CSX 9969, the track geometry locomotive.
I chose 9999 over 9969 since both are technically considered non revenue engines on the present day roster.
EYYY the musics jaw tooths theme xD
Technically all the music I've used is from the TH-cam Audio Library.
@@Pensyfan19 Ik im just saying thats the track he usually uses for his inteo
It's not CSX #18472 it's CSX #18742.
Kinda late but EMD classifications is different with GE classifications, the numbers on EMD Locomotives are not horsepower those numbers meant of the model series
The 40 in F40PH does not stand for 4000 horsepower. It stands for 40 series or series 40. Those locomotives made between 3000 and 3200 horsepower like their GP40/SD40 counterparts.
Thank you for the correction. That slipped through the script checking process while I was focusing on the other unbiilt engines.
This is gonna be awesome!😀
Actually, CSX 4 was rebuilt to an AC44CWM, CSX 7032, last year. CSX 5 is now the lowest numbered AC44, and it is also the lowest numbered YN2 unit on CSX, with the next lowest being 13.
I had a bad feeling when rrpicturearchives didn't show a photo of the engine past 2021, although it didn't associate it with a rebuilt AC44, so I had no way of knowing until now.
Bro released this video the same day 1973 was revealed
I was wondering if I should've put it off because of the unknown status of #9999, but I decided to release it now in light of the heritage unit program.
Would Pan Am Railways FP9A 1 techincally count? It was part of the acquisition by CSX
I'm not sure if it would, since it doesn't have CSX lettering and it's currently stored since CSX is using their F40s for OCS service atm. A similar case came up when making the Alpha Omega episode for BNSF, since they briefly rostered BN OCS units numbers 1 and 2 before donating them, but I didn't include them since they weren't used by the class 1 and were technically on the roster for a brief period of time.
Do bc rail
Can you use my clips?
I usually request people for clips on a video by video basis depending on the video topic.
Alright fair enough. If you need any from me you have the green light
Bro forgot about CSX 18742
It got mixed in with the list of unknowns on rrpicturearchives, so I'll make a community post about it.
Can you use some of my clips soon?
Depends on if they're needed for a video. I usually ask others individually for video footage on a video by video basis.
@@Pensyfan19 Ah okay you can use any of mine if you need them.
