Great MEMORIES, that Parade Deck 3rd Bntt used to be known as. Looks like it was yesterday when marched down the parade field, Earned My Title United States Marines Corp. 2nd Bntt. PLT. 283 November 1973. Semper Fidelis TuefulHunde (Devil Dogs).
Graduated from MCRD in March 1987. This video is on-point. However, my graduation was held in the base theater...long before the newer facilities became operational.
Last of "The Brown shoe" Marines. In June of 64 , we were issued brown dress shoes. Had to stain them n then start polishing them. Lot different shoes than today's Marines wear.
I was at Island dduring that time 1989 when a pct named Antonio Lastra accusing me that I said to him. "You were raised by a dog your mother" when in fact it was Altemoos who said that pct Lastra Ssn 2614 DOB 022863 baffolo NYC You are out there Altemoos your sins have found you As for plt 3064 you know the truth That one person had his statement right he Altemoos say you were raised a dog your mother letters are needed Help
Plt. 253 June to Sept. 1960 !!! Aye, Aye; Sir !!! Did 6 years in the Crotch; 3 years infantry 3 years airwing, including VietNam. Airwing is much better.
Well done Marines! Graduation day….cant beat it.

I left the corps February 3rd 1989. Just when these guys were starting.
In 1973 they played "Hey look me Over" at graduation. I hope that they still do.
This is the graduation ceremony right before mine. I graduated two weeks later with Platoon 2012.

John Phillip Sousa was the director of the USMC Band for years. Nice music from this band especially "This is my country" and "Waltzing Matilda."
