I completely agree with Amanda on the topic that Black people carry trauma in our DNA. I am a Nigerian scholar whose interest is on African and African American studies. I just completed a research on epigenetics and trauma. Studies have revealed that when a group goes through any traumatic event of historical proportions, the generations that follow carry trauma in their genes passed on to them from their ancestors. @Noise_floorxx I don't think Kandi is an Anti Therapy advocate. I think she understands what works for her and is confident enough not to agree. Therapy is definitely a tool, but it takes many tools to build a stable home. Nothing is absolute. Therapy is awesome and useful, but not for everyone, and that's okay. Mama Joyce may be a narcissist and that may be the reason therapy "didn't work" for them. It’s the legacy group comment for me. I want to see the groups of my youth perform well into my placement at the senior home! And therapy is simple. Therapy is a tool. Receiving treatment and successfully using the therapy specific tools to thrive is no different then receiving primary medical care. And very much like primary medical care, if skipped or abandoned it could possibly result in some of the same issues skipping primary care does.
I love Amanda and I have grown to really appreciate Kandi. Unfortunately I was one who grew up thinking Kandi “slept her way to the top “ and I hate that for me ..and her . Those rumors really stained her perception so I am SO glad she is being vindicated . I know it must feel good to know everyone is seeing what you have been saying for years.
I love that Amanda Seales seems to be a bit more softer and vulnerable here - more relaxed and less tense. It's more digestible. I love that for her. I usually always agree with her but her energy use to give me anxiety a little lol. Seems like something is different about her. I love it💜
Amanda! I’d like to make a episode recommendation! If you have not already touched on this subject Side affects of looking biracial as a black women. I was watching this episode and Kandi assumed you were biracial my daughter is light complexion and she said people think that about her all the time and she was so offended.
I think her mom is from a different country.. I can not remember where she is from but I wonder if the people are light complected. Not that it makes a difference regarding the subject you suggested.. it’s just something that I’m curious about after I read your comment.
Also Kandi. Tamika is in therapy and you've noticed the change in how she deals with her sister and mom. Don't you think that could be helpful for you? I'm not seeing how you didn't connect that dot.
Great point Amanda, young me being an Xscape fan, and adult me being a fan of your evolution. Adult me is indifferent to adult Kandi's RHOA tenure. Girl Groups break up bc intentions and expectations are not defined and because they do not seek therapy--crisis averted. Kandi is cool but these worlds should never collide again. Amanda's versatility made this a great interview. Adult me doesn't want to hang out with my 16 yr old self and shoot the shit! I love their music but that's as far as it goes. I read comments and people frequently say Kandi is relatable and nonproblematic. I feel that Kandi simply isn't intellectually stimulating, which makes her unrelatable. Great job Amanda, explore, pitch, sell this idea, case study girl groups, and why they break up on a larger platform. Have them cut the check and I would definitely check in.

Spiritually gifted and like he I to feel like Ive been here living on this earth in a different time but it familiar

Despite the comments making it seem messy, I like that Amanda and Kandi had the exchange about generational trauma. I like that Kandi challenged new information and asked questions. That's very healthy. She sought more understanding. Amanda didn't get defensive or off put by her information being challenged, as people often of do. And we see that in these comments lol Instead, Amanda provided more insight in a relatable way. Kandi took in that information. Wait, wasn’t Amanda in Floetry?! or did I dream that up? 🤔 Also if any group needs group therapy it’s Xscape. I’m actually floored that they haven’t tried it.
This was so good. I wonder if the dynamics would be different when its a group of adult artists who intentionally come together to form a music group, opposed to young artists growing up together while simultaneously figuring out the industry together. I also wish they actually wouldve went into RHOA a little since its an ensemble cast of women. there are clear parallels between RHOA and Xscape. Even with how they just do things “in the best interest” of the show or the group.
I don't think the dynamics aren't that different, really. Historically, it just seems that there is always 1) an eventual favoritism factor that comes into play, and outside influences are usually responsible and 2) egos rarely take a back seat.
@@TheRetroWoman80 yea I guess it depends on the artists. Especially when its adults who’ve been in the industry before. They may be pass that type of drama and recognize the benefits of just working together as SWV says in their show. BUT to your point look at TGT (Tyrese, Ginuwine, Tank) 😂😂😭🫠

I am loving the Kandi interviews on YT!
My favs. This conversation was great! I enjoy both of their perspectives and questions.
I love that Amanda Seales seems to be a bit more softer and vulnerable here - more relaxed and less tense. It's more digestible. I love that for her. I usually always agree with her but her energy use to give me anxiety a little lol. Seems like something is different about her. I love it💜
Two Amazing women!✊🏾💪🏾👏🏾
Amanda! I’d like to make a episode recommendation! If you have not already touched on this subject Side affects of looking biracial as a black women. I was watching this episode and Kandi assumed you were biracial my daughter is light complexion and she said people think that about her all the time and she was so offended.
SE of Being Lightskinned is coming up in a couple weeks!
So looking forward to it. I will tell my daughter to watch this episode for sure. She 18 and really in her feelings about this matter 😏
@@TheAmandaSeales Yes! So needed
I think her mom is from a different country.. I can not remember where she is from but I wonder if the people are light complected. Not that it makes a difference regarding the subject you suggested.. it’s just something that I’m curious about after I read your comment.
AMANDA, thank you for your platform!! Thank you for your words!!! Thank you for sharing 💎💎💎
You are so welcome!
I'm so proud of you Amanda !!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Their chemistry is so awesome!
Please listen at the 27:06 mark. Y'all tripping. Kandi did say... And I quote, "I'm not saying therapy isn't"....
Two of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES!!!
I love both your drives to succeed❤
I made a TH-cam account just so I could officially subscribe 💞 this is my first TH-cam comment ever.
oh wowwowowwowowowo i'm so honored!!! Welcome and thank you!
Oh my goh😮 well you went big for your first subscribe and comment. ❤
Amanda, excellent interview, I live your energy, wit, beauty, and views. Kandi, you guys need to do an Escape movie starting from the 90s to the present day with all the salacious events. It will trump New Edition & Bobby Brown stories. You guys broke the Inernet.🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
It should be a mini series. Give us more screen time for the perspective of each member.
I always root for Amanda, she makes me feel sssseennnn do you hear me!!!
Preach Amanda!! Therapy. Therapy. Therapy.
Absolutely love seeing these two.
I love kandi ... so cool so dope .. great look !!!
I’m so THANKFUL this moment of growth (AND OUR UNFORTUNATE TRUTH) happened on CAMERA 29:02❤!
I love you Amanda, thank you for lifting us up through talk! You are talk!
Amanda Seales and her authentic energy and her entire presentation.. I started following HER career because she was introduced to my life through (Insecure) and when the show was over there had been some comments about her at a club when she had to fend for herself because the cast from the show were being petty and rude... So when she started doing her rants and shorts. A while back I was hooked. Then I saw her stand up specials... The girl is the truth.... Spiritually gifted and like he I to feel like Ive been here living on this earth in a different time but it familiar
What a lovely surprise! Thank you for the interview. Greetings from UK 🇬🇧
Our pleasure!
I'm sad that things aren't great between all of you but Xscape as a group is LEGENDARY. What you ladies created together is STILL the soundtrack to so many of our lives. ♥️🖤💚
A messy dysfunctional drama group. Team SWV with no drama.
@@sistaviv1521 Every time someone says something good about Xscape, here come you lame ass SWV fans that’s stuck in the 90s. Go buy a ticket to one their shows it might help increase their cheap ass booking fee.
What a great interview I like she didn't focus on RHOA& Queens of R&B
Kandi is on to something and I’m here for it😉
Despite the comments making it seem messy, I like that Amanda and Kandi had the exchange about generational trauma. This is big topic to learn all at once but from this conversation Kandi go further on her own journey. That's how you have meaningful/transformative exchanges. It's not about people immediately agreeing.
I can appreciate that therapy conversation. Very candid. Too bad that not everyone views it the same way , even if they don't go
Beautiful ladies, I have always like Xscape. This was a cool interview.
I honestly came on for Kandi, but you YOURSELF dropped so many jewels 💎 , thank you for the INSPIRATION one ACE (actors, creator, entertainer) to another ❤❤
Great Conversation ~ I love Amanda explaining trauma in the dna 🧬 (i know it can sound craxy when u dont know this science) Kandi is clearly notttt convinced. 🤨🤷🏽♀️😁 But it is true. Really respect this dialogue and them getting to know one another deeper. 💕☑️👑 BLESSS
I am so happy to have Small Doses videos on You Tube
i really like their energies together. they are fun and friendly with each other but will also get each other together !
I have been watching these series for so many displays! I can’t be mad at ya and this podcast!! 🫵🏽🤨
A necessary duo! Loved the conversation. 🔥💯👏🏾
@31:30 I love a Caribbean's accent. I don't know how, but I will have a Caribbean man, woman or child in an animation project
Loved the episode!
With the therapy thing....glad to people can agree to disagree without things getting personal. I see points in both views. At the end of the day do what is needed for you to be better.
Exactly!! I love to see that kind of thing.
Truly a wonderful interview. A group that is still together is June’s Diary. They are PHENOMENAL. @Kandi is successful & I believe very reasonable. If everyone could just please be sensible, put your bag first and not your feelings.
23:38 What?!!! I have to find a clip of that 😅😂😂
The converging of these 2 worlds...much appreciated! XO
Wait, wasn’t Amanda in Floetry?! or did I dream that up? 🤔 Also if any group needs group therapy it’s Xscape. I’m actually floored that they haven’t tried it.
That is Marsha Ambrosius. They have similar hair, that is it.
@@kaunagora6656 she was the replacement in Floetry for a little while
She was for like two seconds 🤣 It was after the OG duo had split.
@@evastilldreams6066 Really? I didn't know that.
@@kaunagora6656 she talks about it on the breakfast club, it’s one of the older interviews 🙂
But notice it’s always between the second and third album

I loved this interview!
Great conversation!
Flo is an R&B girl group and they’re amazing!
I love these two
Yes, love ya'll both. Great interview.
The business breaks groups up from divide an concur, lack of finances an greed
I would love to have a therapeutic session with Amanda on Trauma, Narcissism, Therapy and Healing and Black folks!
@@markb9663 I hear you. Oh yes, I know the TGT tale lol. Yet, Tyrese recently appearing on the R&B Money podcast brought some unknown truths to light. His accountability impressed me.
I love you both, great interview!
Yes 🙌🏿, my fave’s indeed. You and Kandi are both go-getters.
The deflection, jumping over conversations, asking a question behind a question ❓ I can't keep up with what subject they supposed to be on. Communication is our partner clarity is our friend. ( In my Craig Stewart voice).
It's a naturally flowing conversation. That's typically how those go.
