  • We work on a LOT of Bentley's at European Auto Craft and we thought it would be a great idea to share some of the most common issues with the early Bentley Continental series cars that are becoming more common as they age. We'll explain how to diagnose the issues and what needs to be done to repair them.

Great video! Super knowledgeable. I have a Touareg W12 and it's hard to find videos on that, so I tend to watch Bentley/Audi videos instead when it comes to W12 stuff.

Awesome video! Thank you for a little glimpse on how the vacuum system works on a 200k car.

Excellent video. I'm here because of my '05 CGT and a lot of the faults you mentioned I'm kinda having. There's some that don't even throw codes, but you kinda figure them out. Like mine is not charging my main big battery. It is on a tender so I rejuice it, and drive the car, and come back to find voltage has dropped on it. I think the battery control module is responsible for charging it and needs replacing as all fuses check out and I can hear that switchover relay clicking and clacking when I turn the ignition on. I guess that's the price you pay.

I think with a little testing, it could be solved in no time.

Wow! Good news for me! The only thing holding me off from buying a Bentley GT is a good independent British shop near me (im in Punta Gorda). I also have a 2016 L405 and a 1995 Range Rover Classic that sometimes need attention.

I have a 2003 HSE I'm going to rebuild for my daughter. We can service the 95 as well.

I am in Australia. Who do you get your Bentley parts from over there? I am changing the front lower arm bushes right now which will come from Europe, so interested to know who you get these bits from (FCP Euro?). I do not want cheap chinese knockoffs as I have just suffered from this issue already.

We have an 06 Bently continental sling spur. Changed compressor, oriface tube and dryer. Now the compressor cuts off when you accelerate. Any ideas where to look?

    Great video!
Are all early Continentals affected by the problem with the vacuum lines Is there a production year in which this problem was solved with the vacum lines ?
    best regards from 🇨🇭

All of the w12 cars up to 2008 I believe are affected. 2004 and 2005 the engine comes out for this repair.

Wait so you dont need to take the engine out for 2003? Also whats the price of these tubes and is there an online upgrade that fixes this problem or atleast makes it take longer to fail again?
