i looove the clank of a dozer drivin across the ground. reminds me of when i was little going to work with my dad.
Man good operaters are key and safe ride to go home at night, THANKS MEN ON MY CREW. God bless you all!!!
Super video. Great up close camera angle of awesome machines 👍
I did that here in middle Tennessee!! Whit Jones Bros inc. I miss the big jobs we just to do!!! 777, ,,5130 an those big escapers. Really good jabs!! Good $$ too!!
All good operators, they all know how to spool their turbo-charger before applying too much throttle, good Vid.
@melbourneSTORM4eva The small blade is used to push scrapers while the big blade is for dirt. It is also spring loaded.
Ya gonna be movin FORWARD with that behind Ya
@Stokeypower Not all big dozers have them, as I found out its the late model 11R's that made them standard. Not all elevated sprocket dozers need them. It adds another wear point in the undercarriage and 1db to the sound of the machine.
a very good video! thanks!
Well Thank you all!!! and keep sending the good stuff.
Mean loading, we load our 627K's down here in New Zealand with D7R XR dozers , slow but helps
We always turn the cut uphill and get a run at it full speed. No push cat, and can gouge on a load in 3 seconds.
I’m curious what this project is. Looks like a landfill with the rolling hills in the background. Pans were used extensively @ the landfill I used to dump @ in the late 60’s / early 70’s.
wut is a carrier roller and wy the small blade
@89me23 Yes the rear engine makes twin engine scrapers climb much better than the singles shown in this video.
All the scraper videos I've watched nobody chainloads scrapers, from my experience the scrapers turn a lot easier than the dozer does, I operated an old D10 pushing 651's, sad scraper would wait for the cat to back up then pull in front of of the dozer, we would pick up the scraper on the fly ( third gear ) then the scraper would start their cut were the last one pulled out. Having that momentum of a 170,000 lbs dozer plus the scraper moving in third gear loaded that first half of the bowl pretty fast. The rule of thumb was 15 seconds from when the can hit the ground till you was loaded, with a good scraper operator alot of times you wouldn't even have to drop the into first gear with the cat, chain loading seemed to be more productive on the jobs I worked on, our cuts were pre ripped and sometimes pre watered also

I know what a psh blade is, but what's tat big yeller thing behind it?
Ok so wats the push blade all about I mean wats the advantage of a carry blade other than visibility ?
Overkill is underrated. It sure is productive. Hardly working too.
@peebsb from personal experience, tagging a buggy hard is rarely accidental!
@PeterbiltEXHD There is a link in the video description that will take you there.
Wow cool!
@melbourneSTORM4eva It's a push blade as redheadedduckhunter has informed you. It also helps in being able to move the dozer from site to site without having to pull it off.
Why don't you have a carrier roller on the D11?
I need a video camera like yours..
@MAC4EVER1980 yeah it does, i have a customer who just replaced his D11R u/c at 10000 hrs, lots of repairs up to that point, pin & bush turn and relug the plates etc I have worked at a hard rock gold mine where the grousers lasted 750 hours 110mm starting height down to the bolt heads.
By the way burnout that is some nice footage and happy new year to you mate.
At some point that would cease to be a gold mine and become a steel mine or whatever the groussers are made of mine.
One of the first things they taught us in the army(67/70) was never doze uphill.
thomas ziegler thats a a dumb army then. You can always doze uphill, depends on what you are doing. So dont say never.
I never realized how big a 651 is
Great video! Can that push blade on the D11R be used for dirt, if that need is posed?
Yes, but only really for tidying up. It won't carry.
An 11 should be in shot rock when it's new. The only time I would use one to push pans ,is when its nearly worn out.
What a stupid idea to use it to push pans when it is nearly worn out
We had mechanic weld a homemade plate on the back of 651 , and it was pushed by a pair of 657's . Worked like a magic .
Wonder why he had to weld a plate on the 651? They all have push blocks on them already.
Jimmy hunt top man
id be cool to see a tandem d11rs tagging 51s
jimmy johnson a d11 has as much push as the old dd9s . If you used 2 d11s and hit anything solid the 651 wouldn't have a belly . Been there saw that train wreck
Not a scraper person, But if the rear engine was running while driving around would it help uphills and stuff or would you kneed to kick out the motor so it doesn't get damaged,..(Im a hoe op so don't know a lot about scrapers)
Dustin Lee run both engines all the time. Let the rear engine off when cornering so as not to sledge . Also with aome scrapers, most noticibally a ts14g, you need to lay off the back motor on the haul road as it has more power than the front. (14g use the same motors front and rear) although front is tuned a little higher, most accessorys are driven from the front so they will wheelspin and rut the road
Smooth operation going on here....no wild cowboying operating ....
Man not a hay ride at least we got limeade , not a beer ate the end of the shift, but the old timers looked for that not no more, shame, the stories shaird and learnded from that how i learned, not from a book!!!! But watching and asking the guys how???
IS THAT A HEMI
That's probably the size of a d6 blade
What are these blades called
They are called cushion blades and have a set of springs in them to take the shock out of connecting with the back of the scraper.
@menick595 IT SURE IS, 2500.
So,the scrapers aren't powerful enough to load the dirt in their own?
+Indian Giver nope only 1 engine so they need a big push
Nom nom nom
Maybe this is a dumb question, but - why do they build scrapers that arent powerful enough to do what they are supposed to do? ;)
1hdsquad
They build them to load to a standard , if you want more you've got to add more . Even with a twin 657 unless you're set up with push me pull you , you usually use a push cat
Really one of those dinky blades on a D11R
i was thinking the same thing
That dinky blade that you are referring to is called a petterson blade, made especially for pushing huge scapers, this dozer is called the push cat,his job is mainly to push scraperes, and that does not require a huge blade.
ohh i see, yea we have a push cat at our mine as well but the scrapers are gone so it just sits.
jeremy collins ใ. เเเนใวฝว....... ,...........
,.?
Mainly used for pushing scrapers.
I hate this time of year. The last two hours of shift the sun is just horrible.
steven schulz big yellow. Machinery ooeratora best friend and worst enemy since adam was a cowboy
I would get my ass riped for twisting and turning that dozer like that.
I didn't think they made single engine scrapers that big
Single engine gets just a little bigger than that.
yeah theres still a 660s above the 51s
Well neat. All we have are twined 627s.. Little fellas
yeah 27s a really common.there 27s,37s,57s,and the very rare 666 for twin engines nd each of them has a single engine counterpart
We used to have a few 37 Ds before I started but they sold those to downsize a little. Required to much attention. We have a 21G with a mega water wagon too
My buddy at singer hauls kidcos d11s
You never load a scraper going uphill.
they use the dozers to push so they dig deeper and fill up quicker. When you push like this they are scraping a foot or more verses 3-5 inches.
Always load downhill whenever possible..
M Hoff Makes since to me.
Gravity can be a tool too.
It's a push blade....
to me the scraper load carry area (pan) should be of larger capacity just saying!!!
cause its cheaper... the twin engines are able to load themselves in the right material, especially if you run push/pull. but they are more money. Having the cat with one big motor and lots of traction you can use cheaper single engine scrapers and more of them
i wont that dozer
This stuff is true story, been their with my coworkers ????? in your pants at the end of day!!!!
I can blue top with a631E
hi
Hello
SO !! MUCH !! WASTED !!! FUEL !!! HERE !!!!
Where exactly?
START !! USING !! HAND !! SHOVEL !!
@@davidwillard7334 ah ok - thought you had a sensible point to make initial, obviously not 🙄
@@dhewitt2514 IT'S !! VERY !!! SENSIBLE !! WASTED !! FUEL !!! IDIOT !!!
@@davidwillard7334 haha - you are sooo stupid 😂
Why on earth do the scrapers drag in and STOP?!? The push cat should be tagging them at an angle while they drag in slowly, not turning behind them and hitting them straight on. Here in Cali we get 80 loads per hour with D10’s!
Cool to look at, but seriously, this is a big expense. D11's are very cost prohibitive. To use them as pushers?
+tdshaker cheaper than using tandem d10s and loads quicker than a single d10. Job was bid with d11s in mind
Nasty looking clay
Yes,we load DOWNHILL????????
As if you would ever load UPHILL??????
WHO would EVER suggest that????? :)
Yeah it's hell on the dozer pushing up hill. We always loaded down hill too.
I would have thought that it would make more sense to always, where possible to load downhill with gravity on your side than trying to srape AN D get uphill at the same time
comments please Ta
labyonnette yes some operarors will take there lasr cuts uphill so as to let gravity help the "dregs" in to the bowel. Most of the time you dont have to if you work your apron right but yeah thats why you will see that sometimes. Also sometimes its more efficiant to run 2 scrapers in oppisite directions at the cut so the dozer dont have to back up fast and far but just has to turnaround to meet the next scraper. If there is only a slight grade then the savings in dozer running fuel and time and mechanical components make up for a little longer or more difficult load.
Why load, with aD 11 when a D9 will do the same job
Because they are 651s not 621
D 11 is taller,,,9 is wide
hmm KIDCO UK
Hmm...they load "downhill"? Yes, seems much more efficient than pushing an extra half a million pounds uphill.
Nice undercarriage
