As a teenage boy this shouldn’t be my favorite ride but it is. When I was 2 years old and went to Disneyland for the first time (I don’t remember) but my parents told me that I just wanted to ride this over and over again. I don’t consider myself a very emotional person, but for some reason this ride makes me cry every time I go on it, it’s just an overwhelming amount of happiness I suppose

I´m not ashamed to say that this was/is my favorite ride at Disneyland. Ok, I haven´t been there for over 10 years, but it will always have a special place. In my head and heart .
When I was 23 I took my friend from Japan to Disneyland while he was visiting SoCal around Christmas. We got in the very long line for “It’s a Small World”. Out of the hundreds of people ahead of us in line, the person literally right in front of us was the first girl I ever dated in high school With her husband. We shared a boat with them. The world truly felt small on that boat ride 🤣😂
This ride was way ahead of its time when it was conceptualized. I can’t even imagine riding this in 1964 at the World’s Fair. It was unlike anything anybody’s ever seen before.
Yes, it certainly was! This, and The Pirates of the Caribbean... I was born right around the corner from Disney, and went there often... I am 62 now, but my mother was born in 1924, you would have thought she had flown to the moon...she absolutely was mesmerized by these two rides...It certainly was a magical place...Oh, and my paternal grandfather was one of the original engineering architect in the building of Disney Land...
Can you imagine working at that attraction everyday.. Humming that tune to yourself on the way home in your car.. Hearing it in your head as you TRY to sleep...... Repeat....
When I was a little boy, I was crying during the entire ride at Small World because the tunnel was dark and it didn't have light, and also because I was scared. This was way back in December 2000. But right now, I won't get scared anymore when I go to Small World in Disneyland during my next visit after this Covid ends because it's not so bad after all. I'll be sure to enjoy it!

1983, I was 10 and my little brother was 8 and my parents said ok, It's one o'clock meet us back at It's a small world at 3 o'clock. We had such a fun time running all over the place and when we rode It's a small world we decided it would be cooler if we jumped off and ran along the side with all the country characters and we got on closer to the end. Such good times.
Wow, this brings back a lot of memories. I rode this ride at the NY World's Fair in 1964. When the Fair closed (at the end of 1965) it was sent to Disneyland, Other Disney attractions built for the NY World's Fair that eventually ended up in Disneyland were Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and the Carousel of Progress.

Beautiful song of love and unity. After all this world is very small in comparison to our divine and immortal friendship. Wishing all friends best of luck. May graceful Lord bless all.
Have y’all ever got stuck on this ride?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I did with my boyfriend and his homies lol they got so creative lol they started beat boxing and doing remixes to this song. I swearrrrr I was laughing so hard I wanted to swim the rest of the way 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I got stuck on this ride for 45 minutes at Disney World Orlando. Funniest part is, i think my ex-wife's head was about to explode. I literally could not get that song out of my head for like 2 weeks.
Same here, I've gotten stuck on this ride for almost an hour, and if it weren't for the people ahead of us trying to pull their boat by grabbing the side of the flume walls we would have been in there much longer.
My dad, stepmother, and I were stuck on this ride for several minutes at Disney World the summer I was 10. When we got off the ride, people around us were singing or humming this song, and my stepmother vowed to strangle the next person she heard singing or humming that song. (And to this day, she probably still would.)
And then you got off the ride, looked your wife deep in the eyes and started singing "It's a small world after all, it's a..." and that is why she is your ex-wife?
My family & I went to Disneyland in California in 1969. I was 9 years old at that time & I don't remember this ride being in a boat or being so extravagant & detailed. This brought back so many wonderful memories for me. As I was watching this, I had tears 😢 & sang along.
Mother Earth unites us in heart and mind And the love we give makes us humankind Through our vast wondrous land When we stand hand-in-hand It’s a small world after all
Thank you so much for sharing this fantastic first-person video. I get emotional watching, many wonderful childhood memories are flooding my mind. My parents are both gone now, these memories are a comfort. xo
I honestly think that this version is way better than the Disneyland Paris one, I was scared of that ride my whole life because of the animatronics "in" the water. This version is way more calming for people like me with submechanophobia.
This used to be MY FAVORITE ride when I was a child. I STILL love this song. Some people find it annoying, BUT NOT ME! I love this song because it makes Me happy.
I enjoy the song, not sure if my headset was set too loud, but after about 8 minutes I started getting a headache :( I watched the whole video though. I don't have enough money to go to Disney World. It's too expensive. So it's nice being able to watch these videos and enjoy what I can :)
The look on my dads face was priceless when he went on this ride... He just had this look of regret.. he was like ashamed to be a human during the whole ride🤣😂🤣😂
I always love how Crystal clear the water is that you see outside. Like the Summer Olympic pool that you can also see at bottom so clearly. The water on the ride is a strong smelling Chlorine. Anyways, water so clear that it seems like you can even drink it, lol.
First time I rode this was in 1976 or 7, I was about 3 or 4. I was a little bit scared, being in the dark and all, and all the vibrant colors.... Whoooo.. Alot to take in. It was like a Natural Acid trip. I can still remember it. Alot has changed, but there are still some parts that are original. I am hoping to go there this year for vacation and i will hit up this ride. I am 44 now but the nostalgia will be great. Thanks for the video.
If you loved this ride as a kid, you still love it now. If you hated this ride as a kid, you eventually learned to love it. It’s impossible to truly hate this ride, even if the song is stuck in your head for a week after.
Oh awesome, I also Ihave a few Disneyland walkthrough videos that might help, check in my Channel profile, there's several videos that might interest you.
1961. Ride broke down and we were stuck. After 30 minutes the demonic dolls bobbing , singing same lline over and over we were finally rescued, got out of boats and walked through dolls and sets! Haven't been able to ride it since.

It will always be a "Small World" if we just recognize our similarities and respect one another. Thanks to Richard and his brother for writing such a memorable theme. I will always remember it when I take that boat ride as it enters into "It's A Small World" at Disneyland. Condolences to the Sherman's family and Disney fans worldwide.
Thank you for the wonderful video. It brings me way back, like many here. Makes me sad, wishing that I was young, innocent and naive again, and that everyone else in my family was too. But we're long passed that now, inching towards the tail end, and that's just as well. Be kind to each other, and be happy.
I would probably be done with the song in the first 5 minutes, but I do want to experience this one day. I went to Disneyland as a kid one time and that day, this ride was closed. I recall going on a Dumbo ride and getting motion sick.
Shout out to my mom, I wanted to ride this ride over a s over again 6 times total . I did the math love you mom and miss you mom. Can't wait til my son experiences this.
This ride is like oatmeal raisin cookies: it's the reason why I have trust issues. The Matterhorn was the first ride I went on when I went to Disneyland at nine years old. It was awesome. The castle was even bigger and I figured it must have a much more awesome ride inside of it. I was mistaken, and I spent 15 minutes sitting there regretting that mistake.
This isn't a thrill ride. It's a feel-good dark ride with a beautiful and powerful message. Even if the song is repetitive, this is one of the best things to come out of Disney. And mind you, this was made in the 60's when people were still racist. Walt really gave the world a step in the right direction.
Of all the rides at Disneyland, I feel Walt's spirit the most on this and Carousell of Progress in Florida. It was two that he worked directly with the creation of them. I remember the opening day ceremony at Disneyland with children from all over the world and they poured water from all the major rivers in the ride. It was Memorial Day 1966 if I remember correctly.
For my high school graduation version of HKDL parkeology (or HKDL 18, HKDL 19), I have made an extra rule for this ride. When the boat passes through the French section I have to sing along to the song in French as I learnt that in 7th-9th grade. I will also tell those who learnt Japanese in those 3 years to sing along when the boat passes through that section, if they attempt it as well.
WOW I thought it was like a merry go round guess I WAS WRONG THERE this moved me to tears. Amazing ride and showed Disney had heart and soul and still do to this day. The robotics were ahead of their time for 1965 and Walt Disney was a genious. GOD BLESS HIM for showing different cultures and respect for them world wide
I hate the fact that so many people despise this ride. Ok, it’s not the most exciting ride in the world, but it’s message is one that should be cherished, respected, and appreciated. We live in a hateful world, and this ride reminds us that everyone’s only human at the end of the day regardless of any conflict. I hope that I was able to make some of you respect this ride more, and I wish the best for everyone who reads this. 👍
I remember going on this ride back when I was about three or four years old and just bawling my ass off. God I must have been annoying the crap out of the other riders!
I don’t remember if it was last night or when I had this dream, I know it was recent. But I remember being in the Africa scene but the power was out, it was just silent and none of the animals were moving, there was just a bunch of bright lights illuminating the darkened scene
I honestly hate how much hate this ride gets. People are either “it’s annoying” or “it’s creepy.” Honestly, people who think that obviously didn’t grow up. The ride has such an interesting concept. It walks you through all these different cultures, and languages. The song in general is about world peace. This ride gives me so much nostalgia. It was always my favorite. Some say the dolls are creepy, but I see them as super cute. I also think it’s cute how the general vibe was supposed to look like arts and crafts.
As a teenage boy this shouldn’t be my favorite ride but it is. You're very welcome, hope you have a magical trip.
I LOVE HOW THE SONG CHANGES DEPENDING ON YOUR AREA
I hope I’m not the only one that noticed all the Disney characters that were added! Looks awesome!
Abbie Glosson Tokyo’s Version was given a refurbishment where Disney characters are in that version it was in 2018
How could you not notice
Alice , Woody and jessie , cindriella , mulan , the jungle book , the 3 cabarellos , the lion king , ariel and finding nemo
@@timetraveler9272 Lilo & Stitch and Moana for Hawaii, the _Frozen_ gang in Norway, Aladdin & Jasmine riding Carpet above you in the Arab portion, Alice in the Wonderland-themed British countryside opposite Peter Pan & Tinkerbelle flying above bustling London, Merida in Scotland, Punzie (Rapunzel) in her tower in her native land, Pinocchio in Italy, designer Mary Blair's figure in the French section (as are Belle & Beast, although they're kind of hard to see), Pocahontas with her fellow Native Americans, etc.

I remember when my friends and I went on this ride 10 years ago and we got stuck on the ride for over 3 hours listening to that song, we’ve never been on it ever since.
Id hate to say this but "its a small world" attraction scares me the dolls look creppy
Lol ... I havent been on this ride in many decades . I was a kid in the 60s and had been to Disneyland a few times back then . Now im 66 and almost wanna hop on the boat and take another cruise on the ride once again and relive a time when life was simpler and less stressing . Walt had a lot of great visions in his time. Thanks for sharing
You're welcome.
This doesn't get no more classic than this. My all time favorite childhood ride.😀😃😁

Man I wish Disneyland still had Carousel of Progress, but at least its still making progress at Magic Kingdom Disney World.

Wishing all friends best of luck.

Amen. God bless you too.

Youre not the same man anymore 0.o
My dad, stepmother, and I were stuck on this ride for several minutes at Disney World the summer I was 10. When we got off the ride, people around us were singing or humming this song, and my stepmother vowed to strangle the next person she heard singing or humming that song. (And to this day, she probably still would.)
" I want to get off Boat Ride 1"
And then you got off the ride, looked your wife deep in the eyes and started singing "It's a small world after all, it's a..." and that is why she is your ex-wife?
My family & I went to Disneyland in California in 1969. I was 9 years old at that time & I don't remember this ride being in a boat or being so extravagant & detailed. This brought back so many wonderful memories for me. As I was watching this, I had tears 😢 & sang along.
Mother Earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand-in-hand
It’s a small world after all
They definitely have added to the ride over the years. Beautiful!
hope to remember it for a long time...sad that many kids today don't know the song....Woodland Elementary is learning it!
Thank you so much for sharing this fantastic first-person video. I get emotional watching, many wonderful childhood memories are flooding my mind. My parents are both gone now, these memories are a comfort. xo
You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed it.
There is a legend that a family went missing in this ride and they where never seen again
They magically turned into dolls, are part of the ride and will now sing that song forever to eternity.

I love it too!
I enjoy the song, not sure if my headset was set too loud, but after about 8 minutes I started getting a headache :( I watched the whole video though. I don't have enough money to go to Disney World. It's too expensive. So it's nice being able to watch these videos and enjoy what I can :)
@@TwiigssGames don’t worry, you only had about 2 minutes left lol
Same, i used to be very obsessed with it, i never actually gone to the ride from Taiwan to America
I rode this 47 years ago. Great memories thanks!
u rode this in 1972???
Woah that sounds so cool yet mind blowing

Thank you for this video. Many years ago this was my moms favorite ride. She is gone now. But love the memories of our times at Disneyland..
Imagine that all those dolls will come to life all together at the same time hahaha
i dunno why, but this one of my favorite rides and i've never been to disney, lol. i think its because i find it so charming.
The look on my dads face was priceless when he went on this ride...
He just had this look of regret.. he was like ashamed to be a human during the whole ride🤣😂🤣😂
Honestly, this is one of my favorites though.
My mom is the same way! I sing the song and my mom just rolls her eyes and says, "WHY?"
I actually like the ride and the song .
His loss
PhantomSmith8000 I feel offended by your dad.
Thanks for the video.
cool!
thanks for the reply. We share the same first name which is obviously the best one to have.
Yeah it's amazing how much this ride has changed over the years, I've been going on it since 1976 which is the year I was born.
You are the chosen are
me too! my mom was pregnant with me in '76 and she went on it. and then when I was 4 I made her go on it with me about 100 times in a row! :D
Leaving for a Disney vacation in two days. Excited to show my niece all these rides.
If you loved this ride as a kid, you still love it now. If you hated this ride as a kid, you eventually learned to love it. It’s impossible to truly hate this ride, even if the song is stuck in your head for a week after.
Thank you! I'm building Disneyland in Minecraft and this video is proving very helpful!
Oh awesome, I also Ihave a few Disneyland walkthrough videos that might help, check in my Channel profile, there's several videos that might interest you.
@@BenHodgeThemeParkEndeavor Cool! I think I will.
Oh god I'm so happy that they put Korea inside this ride... I remember riding this when I was very young...
Nostalgia 😭
1961. Ride broke down and we were stuck. After 30 minutes the demonic dolls bobbing , singing same lline over and over we were finally rescued, got out of boats and walked through dolls and sets! Haven't been able to ride it since.
...and to this day, the song plays over & over & over again in your head, demonic dolls bobbing up & down, around & around & around, all night in your dreams, night, after night, after night! Oh no! What to do??? ✨DRUGS!✨ That's what the doctor ordered. ✨DRUGS!✨DRUGS!✨DRUGS!✨and more ✨DRUGS!✨ Oh no! Now, you're ADDICTED! What can you POSSIBLY do??? Is it all over, but the crying? Have your friends & family and even your doctors all abandoned you? Are you now, lost & forgotten, staggering down skid row, beating the dark and desolate streets for your next "fix?" ...and why has it all come to this? I'll tell you why~ WALT DISNEY! ~HE"S THE DEVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aeh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Aeh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Aeh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! 😛🤣😂🙃🤣😂😄😆😅🤣😂😆😁😆🙃😆🤣😝🤪😜Nah, just kidding. Never mind. Its a small world came out in 1964 and it arrived to disneyland in 1966
ummmm false. it’s a small world opened at the 1964’s world fair and it didn’t even arrive at disneyland until a few years after that, which was in 1966 i believe
@@audreyyy-06 Oh, look what we have here. It's the Fact Check Police. Having a nice time, officer?

Thank you for recording this. My daughter was ao obsessed with this ride. I am so glad I found a recorded version to play to her
Aww you're very welcome glad she's enjoying it.
One of my favorites. I even bought the Small World Dooney and Burke handbag at Disney Springs.

You're welcome thanks for watching.
I would probably be done with the song in the first 5 minutes, but I do want to experience this one day. I went to Disneyland as a kid one time and that day, this ride was closed. I recall going on a Dumbo ride and getting motion sick.
The teacup rides are the ones that made me motion sick
This is the perfect ride to be on after walking around the park. It’s dark and cooling and the song is catchy as hell!
Shout out to my mom, I wanted to ride this ride over a s over again 6 times total . I did the math love you mom and miss you mom. Can't wait til my son experiences this.
It took me about a year to notice but I love how the languages change when you go to each country
That, that right there...
Didn't happen to me. :(
My favorite part's the Switzerland part, honestly
I love to go on this ride every time I go to Disneyland and it always makes me cry to go and watch people go on this ride
this fr a top tier ride
sure hope a guy doesnt get out of his boat and start walking around
For my high school graduation version of HKDL parkeology (or HKDL 18, HKDL 19), I have made an extra rule for this ride. When the boat passes through the French section I have to sing along to the song in French as I learnt that in 7th-9th grade. I will also tell those who learnt Japanese in those 3 years to sing along when the boat passes through that section, if they attempt it as well.
This was my favorite ride! I love It's a small World! My mom, dad, grandma and I went to Disneyland one summer, it was great!
The tune gets stuck in your head for life!
I really enjoy this ride, it's so relaxing and cheerful and uplifting.
@@BenHodgeThemeParkEndeavor I can’t get enough of this ride as well!
For a ride called "It's a small world" it's surprisingly long.
It takes about 1 and a half days to go around the world on a plane so its not that long in comparison lol
the actual world is that small tbh
😂
It's the best ride to get out of the sun, and rest your feet.
Yes lol
This ride is absolutely adorable. ♥️
The only thing that would make this experience less hell-like is some sweet soothing death metal
Thank you for posting; the price for Disneyland is so expensive I can't afford to go anymore

@@lee2005us I didn't go for 6 almost 7 years and finally went 2 weeks ago. Going again for my 21st birthday next year
I honestly hate how much hate this ride gets.
EXACTLY THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! ;;w;;
Sorta why I created a video making fun of all the people who are saying that about the ride..
Well, my mum hated the song of how it becomes a earworm to her (She used to work in Disneyland when I was little)
Rode this in the 70's. Brings back memories.
