- Debussy L'isle Joyeuse L.106
Performed by Vyacheslav Gryaznov
"L'isle joyeuse" is a solo piano composition by Claude Debussy composed in 1904. The piece explores the interplay between the whole-tone scale, the Lydian mode, and the diatonic scale. It begins with a whole-tone context and transitions to an A Lydian context, eventually leading to the A major context of the second theme. The use of different transpositions of the whole-tone scale adds harmonic contrast. The second subject, in pure A major, represents the ultimate tonal goal of the piece. The composition concludes with a crescendo, a tremolo, grace notes ascending to high A notes, a final arpeggio, and a low A note to mark the end. See Gryaznov's personal three-part breakdown of this composition below.

2:29 I love this part
this piece is just insane
Lol what's the arpeggio that he plays at the beginning
it’s a “warm-up” harmony he’ll sometimes do when performing on a live stream (as he did here)
Ok, this is a good tempo, anyone doing this in less than 6 minutes is rushing and breaking the atmosphere of this piece...
This is kinda random but whats the most intresting/addictive piece of music youve heard this month?
There’s two pieces if you really want to know! One is classical, the other EDM:
Classical:
Bach: Partita No 1. (whole thing is wonderful but the ending is a mic drop, begins 19:46) -

EDM:
EnV: Dynasty (overall just a unique, badass sound)
