    In todays video ill be swapping the oil on my Derbi Senda 50cc motorbike This tutorial also applies to Gilera and Aprilia 50cc's. I made a few mistakes but i eventually got there so its all good. This tutorial basically applies to most 2 strokes and could be helpful.

      The oil ur actually supposed to use is 10w-40

  • @mechanicalmadness4422

    This is a bit misleading, but good effort!
    To anyone who is not mechanically minded this is how you change the gearbox oil! on a 2T Derbi Senda/Aprilia SX50/Gilera SMT-RCR with a D50B0/D50B1/EBS/EBE, Euro2, 3 or 4 engine.
    Although the manual states to use 10w40 4T motorcycle oil I would highly recommend using gearbox oil what is specifically designed just for a 2T gearbox, rather than 4T motorcycle oil what is designed to go through the whole engine.
    I would recommend sae75-90 gear/gearbox oil; if both drain plugs- bottom of cases and clutch cover were removed for drainage, the gearbox should then take 600-700ML.
    Kind Regards a fellow Mechanic who builds and tunes these engines

    • @danieljparker_
      @danieljparker_  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t see how I mislead anyone I went of the manufacturers specifications. It’s completely up to you to decide what goes in your engine but many people recommend running 4T. I have heard many people say that gear box oil ruined their clutch.

      not misleading, 2 stroke uses 5w40- 15w40-15w50 4 stroke oil in the gearbox

    Do not use 4t motoroil in 2t gearbox.
    It has anti - wear additive for the cylinder that means your clutch will slips.
    I used motul motoroil when I didn’t know that, and my clucth was awful.

      So u should use 2 stroke oil in the gearbox? U should'nt. The gearboxes are the same in 4t and 2t, the 2 stroke oil is for mixing in the fuel to lubricate the engine.

      No! The only Oil you should use in these 2t gearmopeds is 10w40 4t Oil. Anything else is very wrong. Look up your manual and you Will see it says 10w40 4t Oil. Every Forum you see on the internet also tells you to use that oil So please do not comment when you have no idea what you are talking about. I have owned around 15 bikes who all used this oil.

      its locked with a katalysator in the beginning of the exhaust. In germany its called Krümmerdrossel. You have to cut it out with the right tool. (Should look like this: www.sfera-haiza.de/sfera/auspuffdrosselung.jpg) I recommend buying an new axhaust manifold, because when u cut the katalysator out you can seriousely damage your bike. You can also order an whole new exhaust but this is expensive and the police would bust you pretty fast. (Exhaust-manifold: www.gearparts24.de/tuningkruemmer-motoflow:a11483.html) ik its a german shop but they ship worldwide. The last way your bike is locked is with a ecu.
