Would like to see the dehydrated diy meals please.
I’ll have to cook up that video soon! 😂
Tell about your food!
Just want start do my own and interesting in it.
Sound good! I’ll make that video soon!
Definitely interested in homemade meals. Great gear video
Thank you! I’ll cook up that video soon!😂
Great video, hope to see more. Thanks, Michael
Thanks Michael! Currently planning new videos right now!
nice haha great info
Thanks Josh!
enjoyed this a lot bro 👍🏼
Thanks bro!
I would LOVE to see the meals you make!
Working on that video! Anything you would like to see?
Definitely some recipes you like to use to be specific 👍🏽 great content!
Awesome!
Are you using anything under the X-mid to protect it from the rocks and pokies?
Nope! I’ve pitched it a couple times in rocky sub alpine areas and it’s help up well with no sign or wear yet. Will do a review once I’ve used it more!
Great review & mix of brands and experience. Thank you. See a future here…
Thanks! Just using the gear I see is the best, no brand loyalty
How to make freeze dried food sounds awesome
I’ve filmed some footage for that video already, anything in particular you’d want to see?
Great run through of really well thought-out gear. I’m looking to purchase a new waterproof jacket at the moment. If gore-tex is only as good as you say, what would you suggest is a better alternative. Thanks 🙏
Compass 360 or frog togs.
Thank you I appreciate the kind words! Like I said in the video, i’m eyeing up an enlighten equipment’s visp. I want to get my hands on it before I can recommend it though. The plan is to get it in a few months once I get back home
Loved the video! The one thing I was worried about was being able to see through your quilt, the down is barely covering the baffles. For down quilts I think the best is a very warm quilt, because then there is so much down that it just takes all the space inside each baffle. And since i'm also a warm sleeper, I take a synthetic insulation quilt for 3 season hikes. Zen Bivy has a good one, and enlightened equipement has a really lightweight one.
Thanks Michel! I’ve looked at my quilt a couple times since you commented. It seems like the down is just dirty/clumping up near the top and bottom. I haven’t washed in the 3 years I’ve owned it, that might be part of the reason. But that being said I wish I had more of buffer for those colder temps. ZenBivys new lightweight set up really intrigues me
Great pragmatic gear, mixing budget equipment in. Way more realistic than those gear fanatics who seem to have shares of the outdoor companies...
Thank you! I couldn’t honestly tell if I’ve ever seen someone from a larger channel use a xtherm with a 40f degree quilt😂. It’s just not realistic having gear for ever 10 degree increment
You can wash the decathlons' down jacket indefinitely, just put the tennis balls into the dryer. It will renew the loft. The same applies for that quilt.
Thanks for the tip! I’m going to try that out, it’s noticeably cooler than it used to be
I subscribed BECAUSE I want to know what you did for meals
I’m working on that video! What things would you exactly like to know/learn from that video?
I dehydrated many of my own meals. Curious to know what you do. I’m always looking for something better 😊
the visp is a far cry from your arcteryx....and your notes about the changes in gortex have not happened yet. When shake dry gets discontinued, we will know gortex is living up to their promise.
keep the inreach, the emergency feature for iphone and android DO NOT replace inreach, I have been through the process of needing SOS on my inreach and its a night and day difference between the service you will get from inreach SOS vs pushing emergency on your phone. Think of inreach as an emergency backup device when things REALLY go wrong, you DO NOT want to rely on your phone for real emergencies.
Since posting this, I still carry my inreach. Still having issues with it not texting numbers, I haven’t called support yet since I’m waiting until I reactivate my Canadian phone number(hopefully soon). What is the service differences between garmin and apple/android?
Hot tip: you don’t need a water filter in nz!
I disagree, with the amount of live stock and sheer volume of people on the tracks, you’re asking for the runs 🏃
I too enjoy drinking unfiltered bird piss...
Wow! You sure get a lot in your backpack. Excellent!
Was toilet paper in your toiletries back? 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahah I forgot to mention the most essential piece of gear😅!
Wow dude That is an obscene amount of money for a tent😮
Gr8 video though, thoroughly enjoyed!
I’m still trying to financially recover😅😂.. it’s been great though, I’ve used it a few more times since making this video in some high winds situations and it’s held up well!
Nz IS a first world country AND probably has the cleanest water in the world literally every where. I wouldn’t worry how your filter is performing.
Mate I’ve seen more boil before use signs than sheep in this country. I love it here though!
Meals please :)
I’ll cook up that video soon!
Let's see your food!
I’m working on that video! What would you exactly like to see?
That quilt looks low on down
I’ve noticed that too since posting this video, no rips. So I assume the down is loosing its loft
A phone isn’t tuff enuff for an SOS device.
