An EMP works by pushing a very strong electric current through anything conductive. Some electronics would be destroyed by important components overheating. This means that there would be a lot of sparks all over their rifles including the ammo in the magazines.
I love this mission simply because of how a few moments ago the Russians were almost unstoppable, and after the EMP hit, everyone went back to the basic firefighting like in WW2. This mission shows how everyone is dependant on technology and the entire shift of a war can change because of a simple electrical overload.
Of their own accord and this mission are both one of my favourite missions in the entire cod series. They nailed the atmosphere, dialogue and everything else. Why can’t cod be like this again?

The "Star!" moment at the bus always stood out to me the most. Because that's a decision the Sgt makes that can have a squad annihilation level impact. But he makes that decision because he *has* to be sure, even if it means putting his guys in danger.

DarthZak to basically level the balance between the war on US soil (especifically in the US capital) cuz of the tech and equipment superiority the Russians had over the US at that moment. After the detonations, it was a matter of old school weapon fighting between both armies

Fun fact: You know that cutscene with the International Space Station? That was originally going to be it's own mission where astronauts fought Russian boarders on the station. Infinity Ward scrapped the mission because they felt it didn't fit the theme of Modern Warfare and was too goofy and stupid. So why the fuck did they think bringing that space mission back not once, but twice in Call of Duty Ghosts, and making a whole game set in outer space was a good idea?!
The original creators of IW left already after MW2 (Lawsuit against activision), so the new IW crew is completely new and not the original employees of iw.
well what else were they gonna do to fit the themes of ghosts and iw? The idea sounds cool. It played nice and maybe infinite warfare will play out better than we would expect it to. I like science fiction (Thank you star wars and halo odst and halo reach) and military combat (thank you army, navy, air force, special forces, ect. books that I read in middle school and earlier when I was younger and thank you younger me for thinking of serving for my country and cod finest hour, my first cod and my first fps game.) so I don't really see a problem for it. Got to get creative sometimes. Even when it means going to space or beyond.

Nothing is officially confirmed at this moment but I seriously don’t think releasing a MW2 remaster with no MP will be good for Activision, PR wise. But we’ll see. Again, nothing is confirmed right now. Fingers crossed though.
It would be nice but they might change the gunfire and fire effects this version is way better in terms of effects if they remastered this it might be a little easier too see and the gunfire might have less smoke and more fire which gives more lightning and allows you to see better while here you could barely see and firing may won’t even help because of the lack of flash and you have to rely on the lightning storm and flares

The one causing white smoke where the fire is visible I believe had the doctor’s office that I used to go to. The smoke plume, although I can’t see the building, is funnily enough a 7-11. I don’t know the strategic purpose of a 7-11 but that’s smoke blocking my house’s view.
I remember looking up at the sky after the EMP goes off and seeing all the choppers that were spawning in to fall on you. If I remember correctly, they homed in on you so that they could fall near you or on you if you took too long to get indoors.
Because red dot sights and other attachable sights are turned off or low on battery, cause by the wave of a nuclear bomb in the outer space (esp. Helicopters, airstrike vehicles and other caused by losing power except fuel)

One of the most ominous and creepy missions in this franchise's history in my opinion. The complete radio silence that comes over Foley's squad after the emp's destruction settles freaked me out as a kid.

Dakota Norris, Yeah. Watching one of our buddies get lit up made me just rush in there and light them all up. That's what I liked about this mission, how instead of being a large organized unit, in this we were a small six man team, cut off from everyone else and just trying to stay alive.
The weird thing is. Why are they all still fighting. EMP wasn't planned by either front and both sides tech ate shit. Everyone on the battlefield is bewildered as hell I think the last thing on anyone's mind would be to keep fighting.
No one really knew what happened. To the Russians, they may think the US was planned the EMP attack. The same could be said to the US's side. They had to keep fighting. They weren't given the order to stand down or anything.

I remember looking up at the sky after the EMP goes off and seeing all the choppers that were spawning in to fall on you. If I remember correctly, they homed in on you so that they could fall near you or on you if you took too long to get indoors.

Because red dot sights and other attachable sights are turned off or low on battery, cause by the wave of a nuclear bomb in the outer space (esp. Helicopters, airstrike vehicles and other caused by losing power except fuel)

One of the most ominous and creepy missions in this franchise's history in my opinion. The complete radio silence that comes over Foley's squad after the emp's destruction settles freaked me out as a kid.

Actually, the civilian evac teams would've had enough time to escape in between the events of "Of Their Own Accord" and "Contingency".
If you look out of the wrecked heli immediately after the camera pans back to rameriez you can actually see the blast in the sky.

Dakota Norris, Yeah. Watching one of our buddies get lit up made me just rush in there and light them all up. That's what I liked about this mission, how instead of being a large organized unit, in this we were a small six man team, cut off from everyone else and just trying to stay alive.

The weird thing is. Why are they all still fighting. EMP wasn't planned by either front and both sides tech ate shit. Everyone on the battlefield is bewildered as hell I think the last thing on anyone's mind would be to keep fighting.
No one really knew what happened. To the Russians, they may think the US was planned the EMP attack. The same could be said to the US's side. They had to keep fighting. They weren't given the order to stand down or anything.

This is why back-up iron sights are a must for any gun. Electronics will never be 100% reliable.
