Oh, yeah. Bobby Bare is another name that always pulls me in. Gawd! How do you get any better than Bobby Bare singing a Tom T. song! Simply stunning.

I suspect they’re talking about Kentucky. Tom T was raised about 50 miles from the Capitol and there’s a Capitol Park Inn in Frankfort

You're very welcome Don. There's something about a country cheating song. When it's done right you feel all kinds of things.

Dan and Zach, before this live version, I was only familiar with the recorded song. This was so fascinating that I was completely lost in it. A perfect song done by just the right singer. I wanted to add that those guitars sounded wonderful.

I love Tom Ts version but i love Tom. Up til a couple years ago i had only heard Bobby Bare sing it. Not great subject but the writer really put it together well how people struggle with this situation.

That's a good word: everythingness. The original had some high class orchestration with violins, so it feels like it should be classy. All the domesticity going on. And he teaches Sunday school. Works with the Boy Scouts. He has a son and a puppy and his wife is in a bridge club. She knows he's cheated and forgave him. And all he can think about is Margie. I have always wondered why Margie is always at the Lincoln Park Inn. She just hang around waiting for guys to show up?

@Lindanicholson. I always thought Margie was a prostitute and that was where she worked out of, but that is just my opinion.---#UTRCM

@@mikebarnett9012 It has crossed my mind. Or she's like a big spider just lying in wait for just him to show up and pounce on him!😜

A great pairing Bobby Bare and Tom T. Hall! I like to see you react to Bobby's Duet partner Skeeter Davis and Bobby singing "Let it be Me".

To me three country songwriters stand out, Merle Haggard, Don Williams and Tom T. Hall and not necessarily in that order.
