Hi Don, great song, great reaction. This is one of my favorite Bobby Bare tunes (and he has a bunch of good ones ). I've listened to/heard it so many times I can sing along with every word. Thanks for the reaction Don, and thanks for the request Dan. Also Dan HAKABD----#UTRCM
You know you're the only person I can find who reacted to this song and I love it... I've seen this reaction so many times... love your work... thanks!!
Happy Birthday, Dan. I'll never listen to it again without thinking of one crazy Canadian. Don, while it was playing, I had the same thought that you mentioned. What fun it must have been to write the dang thing. I'm still smiling.
Some pals of mine tried to get me to go with them to a beer joint across the state line to go 'drink cokes and shoot pool and have a good time'.' They don't get out of the way' they said. I don't do beer joints, before the Army, through and after. I was a truck driver and equipment operator and I was sore enough from being rattled around all day and I just told them I'd pass. It took a little while, several weeks or maybe a couple of months and one night the pals fought all the way back to the state line and I saw them the day after and they were all banged up and I told them it looked like the other guys were just laying up for a BIG one. Happy Birthday, Dan and thanks, Don. Bare and Shel did a true job on this one. BLESSINGS!
@@dansigurdson I was working at the local sawmill every evening after school and most saturdays too or trail riding. I didn't have the temperament for games so I toted boards, slabs, edger strips and helped turn logs. This was before the weed business got cranked up. Then after reform school I went straight to work pulling a sheeps foot on a road job. Then Army and tropics and malaria then out and burn diesel. Now mow grass, wear shorts all year even in winter and no hair to worry with. GBWYou!
thanks Don, now I just sip that beer all night. only 4 teeth left, steel holding parts together. Moma says I never grew up I just matured.... be safe ... HAKAD
Another wickedly-funny song by Shel Silverstein. Bare recorded several of Shel's songs, including the Roger-Miller-'Greasy Grit Gravy,' on wgich he included guest singers like Waylon, Willie, and Johnny Cash.
I just found your channel and watched a few of your reactions. I found them to be highly entertaining. I know you specialize in Rock and Country but I was wondering if you have or would consider reacting to the Righteous Brothers, actually just bobby Hatfield doing a solo, of "Unchained Melody" as performed live in 1965 on the Andy Williams Show. This was indeed written by satirist/writer Shel Silverstein, who also wrote Bobby's song Marie Laveau and Cash's Boy Named Sue.
This was written by the great Shel Silverstein, I agree with you that Bobby Bare has the the perfect voice for this song. Happy Birthday Dan!
thank you .. HAKAD

Love the bares music
Love the humorous side of country music.
The Jogger is another really great song from Bobby Bare. It will make you laugh!
Happy Birthday Dan....HAKAD.
thanks, you don't need teeth for kissing girls or smoking cheap cigars.... HAKAD
Happy bday Dan! Love this song. It never gets old
You need to play Marie Laveau by Bobby Bare that's another great hit❤

Love The Winner. You gotta do Numbers. Also by Bobby Bare
I was just going to suggest that! Gotta do it!
Thanks, Don. Happy Belated Birthday Dan. What a great song! And to quote Forrest Gump - "That's all I'm gonna say about that!"
You'll have to give his "Marie Laveau" a reaction sometime :D
I've always loved this song. If you want a similar idea you might try Hank Williams "I've Been Down That Road Before." Hank as Luke The Drifter.
I’m pretty sure the song came out Mr. Silverstein’s poem of the same name, which actually has 5-6 more verses.
You need to do bobby bares marie laveau
While I liked this song I prefer Bobby's more serious work like MILLER'S CAVE and STREETS OF BALTIMORE. Happy B'day Dan.
thank you .. HAKAD
Try his Marie LeVeaux also written by the phenomenal Shel Silverstein.
So funny.

I definitely prefer Chris Christopherson's version better.
