Being a man that was raised to never show emotion, this song really helps me communicate with my GF. I wasn't allowed to cry as a child and was always told that love and trust were a weakness. I was raised to always be the protector of my family so im never able to let my guard down so I struggle with loving my GF properly and I shut down so quickly any time there's an issue. I never told her this for years and she never knew until my sister talked about it one day and my GF was shocked. I'm not perfect. But I try my best. What a lesson this song is for the lovers out there. I can testify to the toxic dangers of pride in a relationship. @Joanna Smalls not speaking for all men but it takes a lot to bring me to tears because I been through many ordeals, but at the end of the day I usually just drink it away and sleep on it until the pain subsides. Healthy? No but I feel like nobody actually likes a complainer. Either that or they don't care enough to chat with you about it. God bless the people with someone that listens to them. Someone patient enough to teach us how to love.

What a lesson this song is for the lovers out there. I can testify to the toxic dangers of pride in a relationship. The fear of not being in control and self-centredness was poisoning us, I have trouble confronting the pain I've caused the woman I love, and even more shocking when I realise she put up with my shit all this time. It's very humbling to know she was patient enough with me to get over myself and grow into a man in love.
