Hi Alex. I just watched two of your videos. I think you put them together so well. You've taken the time to shoot some very good angles and POV's... I love the way you travel, by yourself and quite minimalist. Sleeping out, choosing off-road and letting the surroundings and imagery speak for itself. I like you already. In my opinion, shoot a little more of yourself and your thoughts. Give us a glimpse into your inner journey as well. That might make you even better liked eh? Just a few thoughts from a fellow Canadian adventure rider... I plan to watch some more of your travels. Be safe
Greetings from Ireland. You are one tough dude! Threw the bike down the trail, repaired it and finished the journey, big respect! Keep them coming and of course ride safe!
This is very epic footage, great choice of music, and well edited. That had to be one of your more challenging adventures on a bike. Huge thanks for taking the time to put this together and sharing. It was inspirational to me. Ride safe.
Great job on the video! I know how hard it can be to edit out all that footage into a good vid. That route looks about perfect. Love that part of the country!!
Watching your videos has inspired me to take long trips by myself. Ride it hard and put it away wet !! Most times cant get anyone to commit...I might bring an extra shifter lever just in case.......Keep it up!!
At least now you'll get a new windshield... Lol it was pretty scratched up with war wounds before this big crash! Glad you made the trip and like always I can't wait to see your next one. Good luck and be safe!
Totally Amazing video of your adventure, so inspiring, thanks for sharing Alex! Wishing you the best and hope you managed to get Everything fixed on your bike! I will share your video on our GS Club Sweden-page!
Thank you! Do you do any off-road riding in Austria? I was just over in the Trento, IT area. Amazing scenery and tons of paved curves, but do you get into off-road adventure riding on trails at all? If so, can you point me to some spots you go?
Craaazy but awsome. I m a fan of your vid, I admire your agileness off roading in that heavy bike, I will try with my F800 soon when im ready. mentally not ready yet.
Congratulations on a great video of an extraordinary off-road adventure. The views of Glacier National Park are breathtaking. Looks like Valhalla out there. Ever used the knife-throwing skills from 4:31 to catch lunch or dinner? Could you share the title & composer of the music? AJ
Man...You beat the dog sh#$ out of that bike!!...and still rode all the way to Sunnyvale !!..You must be one good mechanic !!..Nice video ...Gonna watch the others..
Great journey, thanks for sharing. Any emergency communication gear? Pretty remote and a few crashes which could have gone bad. Something to remember for sure.
Another great video with music and well done editing. Thanks Alex for inspiring others to ride/ride solo. What type of tire are you riding on? I wasn't able to make them out at 1:47 in the video. Someone previously posted in maybe doing a gear video. Would be great when you have the time to knock one out. Cheers!
Awesome vid! How do you find your route on all those cool dirt roads? This last summer I road AZBDR, UTBDR, Montana, Wyoming, COBDR, and then all the way back to south FL. I look forward to riding IDBDR this next summer up to Canada...yes, I have to much free time. lol
I crack them into an old Nalgene bottle. It's not necessary, but I keep them in my small cooler. Despite all the jostling, the yolks usually don't break!
Awesome video work. Please be careful with the hardware, the broken windshield is like a pointy blade waiting to cut your throat if you were to fly forward!
Awesome video & ride! My buddy and I are doing the New Mexico & Colorado Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR). We want to continue on to Canada. Is your route (GPS Track) available online?
Unbelievable ride short video just wondering how you mapped your journey before starting and how long it took to plan because of the short video seems like you pushed hard... It's a journey I would love to do
I use Google Earth and MapSource to plan my routes. It's time consuming and I always need to adjust on the fly out on the trail, but it's good to have a game plan to guide me. I rode for 7 days and made a 5 minute video. Long videos are boring!!
Hey Alex Great video. I cycled the Great Divide route back in 1996 but I don't think a lot of that was a motor vehicle access. Is the Great Divide one official route and you have to find your way around parts of it that are ok for motorcycle access? I live in New Zealand but would love to ride an adventure bike over that route? Keep the vids and adventures coming.
Great Video Alex, Glad you are OK, how the heck did you fix the suspension out there . . the bigger question is how did you break the suspension on a GS?
Thanks. I was able to find a guy with a small shop in his farm. We removed the swing arm and banged it out over an anvil. Not ideal, but it got me the 1,500 miles home!
Thanks Sam. I appreciate it. I've got a ton of footage from the last two years of all sorts of adventures, but it the time investment to edit and publish is the limiting factor. Someday I'll put some more moto and travel videos online.
Awesome stuff! I've been thinking of riding a motorcycle through Central Asia. From Turkey to Kashgar, China - the Silk Road. My question is, can a motorcycle - the GS - do it? I'm assuming the major question is, can a motorcycle carry the emergency supplies, spare tire , etc.?
Very beatiful landscape you got there! I have to come there one day to do some riding! Have you ever thought about getting a lighter bike? I think with a lighter bike you wouldn´t habe bend your suspention. Anyways.. Gread Video again!
Great adventure and excellent edit job on the video. A couple questions, would you have preferred to do the ride on a 800 GS (or something like that)? Also, How did you link up to the roads in both directions? What source/maps did you use?
Yes, a smaller bike is not as comfortable, but would be better for the trails I like to ride. I use Garmin Mapsource, Google Earth, and a spend lot of time beforehand mapping out options. Once out on the trail, I often have to improvise!
+Alex Parrillo Good to hear. Always on the back of my mind when riding long distances. Looks like TKC's. Hope you get some sponsorship for all your real world testing. Ride on
I find routes with a combination of reading online forums, finding established routes (TAT, CO Divide, etc) and looking at maps and Google earth. Planning helps a lot, but once out on the trail, route-finding is an ongoing challenge for every trip.
Repairs are still pending. Yes, the 1200 Adv is too big for the type of terrain I like to ride. I love the fuel, gear capacity, and comfort, but otherwise it's too much bike.
I am enjoying your videos of adventures off road, I live in Brazil and my dream and go to canada do what I love so much, I am a motorcycle mechanic and I need a job to help me immigrate. Can help.
Hi Alex. I just watched two of your videos. I think you put them together so well. You've taken the time to shoot some very good angles and POV's... Greetings from Ireland. You are one tough dude! Threw the bike down the trail, repaired it and finished the journey, big respect! Keep them coming and of course ride safe!
The big crash was day 2, busted suspension/repair on day 5, but I made made it round-trip in 7 full days of riding!!
This is very epic footage, great choice of music, and well edited. That had to be one of your more challenging adventures on a bike. Huge thanks for taking the time to put this together and sharing. It was inspirational to me. Ride safe.
Love your confidence, skill and determination.
That was beautiful! Thanks for taking us along.
Great trip and videography and storytelling, thanks! Love the bike too, time to get one.
Astonishing footage of an inspiring adventure. Took a lot of guts to make the trip. And a lot of talent to make the video.
Great video and route. Looked like you definitely had an adventure. Good thing you're able to repair your gear on the trail. Beautiful scenery.
So would have loved to be on that trip. Minus the spills. Life is an adventure and you sure look like you are enjoying it.
Great job on the video! I know how hard it can be to edit out all that footage into a good vid. That route looks about perfect. Love that part of the country!!
Taking 4+ hours of footage down to 5+ minutes is a trick. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks -
Something to watch over and over...., take care on the muddy roads!
Another great video...... love to see a little more of the trip.
Great video, the broken windscreen just adds to the awesomeness of the video!
Awesome countryside there Alex. Looks like a great ride!!
Great video! I'm adding this to my bucket list. I'll probably take a buddy or two, but what an amazing solo ride this would be.
I stumbled upon your back yard gardening video and now I can't stop watching all your other videos! :) So Entertaining! ~Amber (I live in Denver too!)
Watching your videos has inspired me to take long trips by myself. Ride it hard and put it away wet !!
Most times cant get anyone to commit...I might bring an extra shifter lever just in case.......Keep it up!!
Loved your journey!
Amazing! Greetings from Sweden
Cool video and great ride! Glad that you kept going despite the crash and bike issues! Good work! :)
At least now you'll get a new windshield... Lol it was pretty scratched up with war wounds before this big crash! Glad you made the trip and like always I can't wait to see your next one. Good luck and be safe!
Great video, thanks for sharing your experience!
Rock On Alex!! I get inspired to push further into the wild on my Tenere cause Your videos!! Awesome filming!! Keep it up..........on two wheels too!
gorgeous. fun to watch this, alex. looks like an incredible ride!
I was wondering where you were gonna go next. Glad you made it relatively safe and sound. I can't wait to pick up my GSA when I get home. Cheers Alex.
Thanks. Yup, back in one piece. Maybe a run to the Mexican border is up next?!?
Sounds awesome. Do you have any advice as to the must haves when I pick up my GSA?
What an adventure! Thanks for making the video :)
Nice! Ill be down in your neck of the woods summer 2015 coming from north to south on the same route, watching this makes me even more excited!
Absolutely AWESOME!
Short and sweet video. Nice adventure.

Thank you! Do you do any off-road riding in Austria? I was just over in the Trento, IT area. Amazing scenery and tons of paved curves, but do you get into off-road adventure riding on trails at all? If so, can you point me to some spots you go?
Great ride video & good music!
Great adventures and great attitude to keep on rolling
Inspiring video!! Thx
Very good video, you have some balls to go alone on the ride like that.
Too short video, we want more!!!
Thank you Alex!!
Le bonjour de France! :)
I love your adventures Alex!
Awesome. Thank you!!
Nice work. Great vids. You should do a vid on the gear you carry.
Craaazy but awsome. I m a fan of your vid, I admire your agileness off roading in that heavy bike, I will try with my F800 soon when im ready. mentally not ready yet.
Fantastic ride and video! Thanks!
Would love to see more!
Wow man! What a ride! Amazing stuff!
Shame you bike got a bit battered though.
I'll be having more of your vids mate. Subbed!
Congratulations on a great video of an extraordinary off-road adventure.
The views of Glacier National Park are breathtaking. Looks like Valhalla out there.

AJ
You have my complete respect.
Love your vids!
Man...You beat the dog sh#$ out of that bike!!...and still rode all the way to Sunnyvale !!..You must be one good mechanic !!..Nice video ...Gonna watch the others..
Thanks! I'm a moto mechanic by necessity, not training...
Yes, the bike has taken a tremendous beating. Got my money's worth!
Love to see you do more videos!!
Well done. I didn't know there was a dirt route that way. Maybe post the GPS track?
1200gs for sale, Sunday rides only, never seen dirt😆
Seriously good to see someone using a machine for what it was intended👍
GREAT JOB!
Tempting video....... :-)
I've watched all your videos multiple times. I love it. Any more trips planned?
Well done Alex, well done....
Great journey, thanks for sharing. Any emergency communication gear? Pretty remote and a few crashes which could have gone bad. Something to remember for sure.

Great video! Should be picking up my 2015 1200 GS (not adventure) next weekend. Can't wait to test her!
Awesome! Have a blast and be safe out there.
Great video! Do you have an update on the bike's condition after your epic ride?
4:44 that is crazy beautiful!
Awesome vid! How do you find your route on all those cool dirt roads? This last summer I road AZBDR, UTBDR, Montana, Wyoming, COBDR, and then all the way back to south FL. I look forward to riding IDBDR this next summer up to Canada...yes, I have to much free time. lol
***** Lots of time on Google Earth scouting out routes.... Sounds like you've a lot of adventures ahead!!
That's how I do it to. lol
How those eggs didn't break? Awesome trip!!!
I crack them into an old Nalgene bottle. It's not necessary, but I keep them in my small cooler. Despite all the jostling, the yolks usually don't break!
Looks like a awesome route, you mind sharing it? :)
Awesome video work. Please be careful with the hardware, the broken windshield is like a pointy blade waiting to cut your throat if you were to fly forward!
Very very nice
Awesome video & ride! My buddy and I are doing the New Mexico & Colorado Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR). We want to continue on to Canada. Is your route (GPS Track) available online?
I must do this route!!!

Great vid!
How much did it cost to fix the bike?
Awesome stuff!
I've been thinking of riding a motorcycle through Central Asia.
From Turkey to Kashgar, China - the Silk Road.
My question is, can a motorcycle - the GS - do it? I'm assuming the major question is, can a motorcycle carry the emergency supplies, spare tire , etc.?
Check out long way round. They used GS
Ken Liu and the bikes didn't make it
great windshield, what make ?
AWESOME
I would like to move to Canada from UK wonder how difficult it would be?
Very beatiful landscape you got there! I have to come there one day to do some riding! Have you ever thought about getting a lighter bike? I think with a lighter bike you wouldn´t habe bend your suspention. Anyways.. Gread Video again!
Thanks for your comments! Yes, a lighter bike would be great, especially given how I ride. But, this is what I've got...
Alex Parrillo Hey is there a why to get I can contact you email??. Really like what you do great shots great video!!
Thanks! Yes, a lighter and smaller bike would be ideal given the trails I like to ride, but the 1200 is what I've got...
Can you do this on the same roads in a Jeep or Blazer 4x4?
How did the bike go down on you? I'm setting up my ride for next Summer this January and Feb based on the R1200 or KTM 1290.
What's the furthest you went without a fill up?
Cool rider :)
Great adventure and excellent edit job on the video. A couple questions, would you have preferred to do the ride on a 800 GS (or something like that)? Also, How did you link up to the roads in both directions? What source/maps did you use?

Time to make some more motorcycle videos!!
Love to ride with you bro!!
How well do you think a Honda Africa twin would do
Great! Give it a go
Super !! JFL ADVENTURE
Is your bike a 2012 R1200GSA? just wondering cause I am looking at one, anything negative to say about it?
Awesome bro. Question. How many flats did you have to fix on that trip?
Thanks. Lots of damage to the bike, but no flat tires!?!
+Alex Parrillo Good to hear. Always on the back of my mind when riding long distances. Looks like TKC's. Hope you get some sponsorship for all your real world testing. Ride on
..crazy. how the hell you pickup the routs ???????
I find routes with a combination of reading online forums, finding established routes (TAT, CO Divide, etc) and looking at maps and Google earth. Planning helps a lot, but once out on the trail, route-finding is an ongoing challenge for every trip.
How expensive were the repairs? Do you ever get tired of picking that heavy beast up?
Repairs are still pending. Yes, the 1200 Adv is too big for the type of terrain I like to ride. I love the fuel, gear capacity, and comfort, but otherwise it's too much bike.
Alex, what camera are you using?
#respect
What year is your bike and how many miles do you have on it already? Thanks Alex Parrillo
The Great Lakes Piper it's an '07 with 27K miles on it. It's had a fun, but hard life!
alex how to go from Mexico to canada by road
GSA for ever!
C'mon Alex. We must be due another video soon!
I am enjoying your videos of adventures off road, I live in Brazil and my dream and go to canada do what I love so much, I am a motorcycle mechanic and I need a job to help me immigrate. Can help.
really nice video and adventure. Just one suggestion... change your helmet ! ;0)
