Differences Between our Blowdown Evaporators
Organomation has 3 main blowdown evaporator lines: The N-EVAP, MICROVAP and MULTIVAP.
Each product line has unique features designed to serve different applications. It’s important to know these features before choosing an evaporator for your lab.
The N-EVAP evaporators are our most popular product line. We have models that can accommodate anywhere from 6 to 45 samples at a time.
They all come standard with a heated water bath that can reach up to 90 °C.
The hoist assembly allows you to lower the samples into the water, and rotate them for easy access at the front.
Our lower capacity N-EVAPs also have a dry bath option, which utilizes aluminum or glass beads. This allows the bath to reach up to 130 °C.
The tubes are held by a spring assisted sample holder, allowing the use of multiple sizes at once. All N-EVAP units can accommodate tubes with an outside diameter between 10 to 30 mm.
Each sample position has its own individual gas valve. This allows you to adjust the gas flow to each sample, depending on its size and volume.
You can also adjust the position of each needle to accommodate different tube heights.
If you’re looking for simplicity when it comes to digital controls, the lower capacity N-EVAPs are for you. They only include an on/off switch and a bath thermostat knob at the front of the unit.
The 34 and 45 position N-EVAPs, however, come with a side control box which includes a temperature controller and digital timers for gas and heat.
Overall, the N-EVAP product line is ideal for those who are using a variety of tube sizes.
Our MICROVAP evaporators are able to accommodate both microplates and/or test tubes.
They all utilize an aluminum heat block that can reach up to 130 °C. Our test tube MICROVAP models can hold either 15 or 24 samples, with an outside diameter between 10 to 22 mm.
Each unit comes with one sample block, custom drilled for your tube size. You can purchase a second block if you’ll be using a second tube size.
You can also purchase a conversion kit, which allows you to switch from evaporating microplates to test tubes in a matter of seconds. You’ll receive a separate manifold and heat block, which are easily interchangeable.
All the gas delivery needles are connected to one manifold, allowing you to start and stop evaporation with just one switch.

All MICROVAP units also come with a digital temperature controller and LED display integrated right into the bath case for easy operation.
Overall, the MICROVAP product line is ideal for those who are evaporating microplates, or small batches of identical tubes.
Our MULTIVAP product family offers the widest variety of options, with models that can accommodate anywhere from 9 to 100 samples.
Most of the MULTIVAP models utilize an aluminum heat block that can reach up to 120 °C.
Some models come with a heat block that is custom drilled to fit your tube size.
Others come with a set of aluminum inserts that are drilled for your tube size. You can purchase a set of custom inserts for each tube size you’ll be using. The MULTIVAPs can accommodate tubes with an outside diameter between 10 to 30 mm, depending on the model.
Unlike the rest of the MULTIVAPs, the 64 and 100 position modes utilize a heated water bath that can reach up to 100 °C.
These water bath units come with a custom rack that sits in the water, rather than a heat block. Multiple racks for one unit can be purchased.
Just like the MICROVAP product line, all the gas delivery needles are connected to one manifold for easy gas control across all sample positions.
If you won’t be using all sample positions at once, you can also shut off individual rows by using the toggle switched on top of the manifold.
All MULTIVAP units also have digital temperature controllers and timers for gas and heat integrated right into the bath case for optimal user control.
Overall, the MULTIVAP product line is ideal for those evaporating large batches of identical samples.
