    Two things. I’m not a religious person. But I hope this channels EXPLODES!! It is phenomenal to see this level of Christian conservatism mixed slightly with a bit of social liberalism in two young sista!!
    2. Black don’t crack. I’m the same age as y’all parents. My grandparents are the same age as y’all grandparents. I’m biracial from back in ‘74…. And black don’t crack so I look like I could definitely be in my late 30’s. But y’all grandparents look like they could be in their 40’s with salt and pepper!!
    We have great genes!! Keep up the good work, young ladies. You have a fan in me!!
    Only negative was your granddaddy’s choice of frat!! All about those Apes and ‘06!! 😂 🤙🏽🦍

    Your grandparents are so right. If young people would just listen. I am exactly in your grandparents generation and I agree, I am going to continue to reach out to my grandkids (twin 10 year old boys), who at this young age think they know everything. I always told my students that you never stop learning. I learned as much from them as they did from me. Tell your grandparents that this grandma is going to continue to hang in there, sharing and serving.

    Great interview, I think all grandkids should interview their grandparents at least once in their lives. I wasn't in a rush to grow up when I was a kid but for some reason, I love the idea of being an "old lady" since I hit my 40s. 😂 Maybe I'd feel differently if I didn't have to remind people my age but I'm glad to be old enough to dodge ALL that young people drama!

    Thank you for sharing this personal and uplifting video. Your Grandparents are elegant. I am my grandparents’ favorite. I have spent many hours with them, so I can relate. My grandmother was born in South Africa. She made it her mission to give me her history and insisted that I always respect my ancestors and respect books and education. My grandmother would not subordinate herself to any man, she was able to spit fire when needed. This video gives new respect and admiration for you both. You young ladies are on a good glide path and life will reward you. As always, best wishes.

    I agree there has to be a willingness I know many elders who assume immediately that younger people don’t care and often young people think the elders don’t care so many people think there in it by themselves yes it is much appreciated when elders are willing to share the wisdom I appreciate this episode ❤
    Pouring into our families and other should happen naturally and over time not just when we’re upset or disappointed in them because we assume we/ they were raised “right” we should be pouring in at all times not just when the mood is right pour into them from a very young age not when you’ve reached your breaking point

    • @darisesanker6022
      @darisesanker6022 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I've learned it needs to be when the young are ready to receive.
      I've poured all of their lives as children, but as adults, adulting is a matter that is received when wanted. And that season is on their terms, not on the elder's.

    Greeting from Dallas by way of Chicago. I'm a Chicago native. I grew up in the Southwest Side in a neighborhood that was predominantly white in the 70's. I can resonate with your grandparents experiences. I remember Cicero, Illinois being extremely racist. I also attended college in Alabama in the late 80's. It was still extremely racist with plenty sundown towns.

    Such an insightful conversation. I’m mixed and grew up in Europe. So fascinating to hear the experience from elders across the pond. 🤍

    This is beautiful! Thanks for sharing! What a blessing for 50 years of marriage....and they understood the assignment. What wonderful role models for you both. P.S.- I could listen to them for hours....they have some interesting life stories to share.

    I amend them on the interview with there grandparents. I have been married for 37 yrs and my son got married it lasted for 5 yrs no good communication and rushing he said he wanted what his dad and I have but like they said it took alot especially when we also came from different backgrounds in life and we fault like heck but we learned to talk plus we wasn't out for what we could get out of each other material thing's but a 50/50 relationship built on God, love and respect. I love them because everything they said was right on point the new generation I love them but they do feel they know more and it has gotten to the point where I hear my 7yr old grandson at time's talking to his father about something like pokemon and other things that came out in the 90's which have resurfaced and he feels he knows more then his father but my son correct's him on the issue, but we need to find a common ground of respect and raising our children because it is never to late to teach and change there mind set on issues of today.
