Instead of a dowel if you go to Walmarts website and look up 48 inch orange markers (for highway/driveway) make sure they are made of fiberglass and then cut off the rubber end and tape the ends off so you dont get fiberglass splinters and then tape the two fiberglass sticks together and for a more powerful bow use four fiberglass markers then tape them together into a 2x2 shape and then stick them into the pvc and then do the rest of the bow using the video. My personal pick of the brand is “Hy-Ko”
Im so glad this channel went back to its roots after so long, it was hard too see a channel like this become a glorified content farm Thank you, you made my day
This right here is the best video layout keep it up great for my kid to learn engineering. Keep up the good work not sure what these complainers are missing grant was a great dude but to say only he could TH-cam is asinine you guys are doing great🍻
If you're worried about the plunger coming loose. You might try drilling a small hole in the string end and running the bow string through it before stringing the bow. Then it can be taped, etc, to prevent wear, but it isn't going to come lose from the string.
I assume you mean drill a hole in the dowel, we thought about it but a hole big enough for the paracord would be a decent chunk of the dowel's thickness. I'm pretty sure it would break the dowel after a few shots.
Yes. That was what I meant. You could get around that by creating a slightly larger "plug" end to the plunger and pin it with a finer nail to the plunger. For example, a small section of the PVC tubing. Drilled for the string diameter and then a smaller drill with a small nail through it and the dowel to hold them together. Yes, it is slightly more complicated, but still a captured plunger that can't accidentally come lose and shoot through the bow by mistake.
That is fun. I would drill a small hole and insert a screw to stop the dart from being pushed by the plunger so only the air is forcing it out and a slit for the air to be pulled in behind and a short pvc tube that slides over it and you can attach a string to it from the end of the dowel and the length is just a half inch shy when you pull the string from full draw. Also Let see if you guy can make a potato launching ballista. with pvc.
10:48 i don't understand advertising restrictions and all that; but i find it funny when one can's label is taped off while the other one's isn't, when they are quite obviously the same product.... i've seen this happen in some cooking shows too; i don't know if it was just a prduction assistant's mistake or there are other reasons behind that
I feel like I’m watching one of those random tv shows that pop up in the middle of the night about people working on car or something. That feels forced instead of natural
It's relatively early days for the "rebooted" channel. They are both still finding their feet. I don't think either of them are 100% sure where the channel is going, and who does what. Watch the early videos made by Grant, and you'll see the same rough edges. I'm sure they will settle in.
It's a shame Grace isn't a part of it any more. She moved away for personal reasons, not related to TKOR, and made a good stab at continuing the videos on her own from her new home. But clearly it wasn't practical. The channel had already lost it's focus and direction, not to mention it's other presenters. Grace, bless her heart, clung on for a while. You can't fault her enthusiasm.
I'm here I love the idea Jake makes is a legend period. Laser guided bow with Nerf darts and we've all seen enough JoergSprave to mod. Schell Sullivan was doing some sick stuff with nitrocellulose and carbon fiber with blow darts. Lkh 9 has those lighted knocks. I can mod this in so many different ways are the laser sight is outstanding. The mods are endless. Imagine that classic TH-cam blowgun with the revolving cylinder on a bow. Fallout style. Or the darts KOR style Armstrong's mix 22 blanks ceramic spark plugs exacto blades sewing needles. Great job. Fallow up your intrest with this playlist I made based on this build. th-cam.com/play/PL25HG5Lm11i0oO46fzWz50YiJZcfVlmt9.html&si=lwfxDeFSTjAdqLWC
just a heads up, if y'all wanna catch some slow motion shots of your backyard projects in action, you should reach out to "The Slo Mo Guys" and see if they'd be willing to film some high speed shots of like your paper rocket bazooka, slingbow, and stuff like that
Only two tools needed…then 30 seconds later, a third tool emerges, a minute after that, a fourth tool, and s minute after that, a fifth. Gave up counting after the blow torch came out. Come on guys, the devil is in the detail, and there’s no devil here at all.
@@bc00735411Who says they should be short and to the point? You? That's strange, because when Grant was still alive, the videos had already become longer and more relaxed. Clearly nobody back then was aware of your opinion, otherwise I'm sure they would have bowed down to you wishes. 😂
its been almost 2 years since a video from this channel has graced my feed........... even though im subscribed and have been since shortly after Grant started this channel. what happened with the other 3 hosts? im in the dark.
I believe both Calli and Nate put out videos on their own channels explaining why they left TKOR. Grace moved to another city, but bless her heart, she did try to carry on for a while as sole presenter. The basic problem with TKOR was a lack of direction, or at least agreement on which direction to take. Hopefully that's all been resolved and the new guys can get it going again.
I like the video but t is just missing some.of that magic that keeps you interested and engaged I think they should go back and look at how the old videos were done to try and replicate that magic
That PVC is going to "neck" in a mostly invisible manner eith every draw. (In plastic, "necking" is what you witness when you overstress a piece of plastic and notice it loses color and form in something resembling a permanent stretcg-mark.) Just imagine that happening all throughout the structure and not big enough and concentrated enough to see actual "necking" marks. Instead, over a rather short lifetime of the bow, you'll see greater and greater deviation of the bow's entire shape conforming more and more toward the drawn compression. So after not very many uses, the bow will no longer have the tension required to fire even the foam dart.
I took the liberty of sharing this in the NERF sub-Reddit; PVC Nerf bows have been a staple in the hobby for over twenty years.
Back to Grants old roots again! Awesome
I am glad to see videos like grant used to make I watched this channel since the short video grant used to make when he was nervous to be on camera
yass, finally back to Grants roots and idea for the channel

I was wondering how to make similar thing but for crossbow, nice job. And instead of nerf darts I plan to use balls
It's fairly accurate, too..
Good fun👍👍
Very fun project
These guys haircuts are so funny
the random adventures of greasy and mullet
Your chemistry and vibes are amazing! Loving the classic simple projects that are cheap but tons of fun!
I wonder if one could use something like a soldering iron or is the hot glue gun tip hot enough to melt the PVC to make the notches by melting them?
Maybe...
These two together are great
nice flite test glue gun
was wondering if can use different pvc fittings to shoot marshmallows out of this
It will shoot mini marshmallows just fine. We were gonna show that but ended up forgetting
First video I’m watching since Nate left. It feels weird now, but I do enjoy the direction it’s going.
Nate left forever ago
I am glad it’s back to grants style of videos but it’s missing his umph
It's like if you wanted Good mythical morning mixed with the modern rogue, but then bought it on Temu

Now this is a video Grant would be proud of. Slowly restoring my faith in TKOR
Whose the new guy
It's "Who is" or "Who's". To find the answer, I suggest watching their videos.
In next episode can you teach how to make a big Tesla coil
I don't trust the dowel safety measures, you better add a heftier disclaimer somewhere in this video
Nice build! How's the fps?
the nerf arsenal is growing.
This is nice!👍👍👍
Who are they? I've been gone for awhile. Where is nate grace and kallie? Also R.I.P GRANT
An easier way to cut in your notches instead of a hacksaw you can also use a file 👍
yall are making grant proud 🥹
Please do more of these videos
cool
So this is where Jake makes went
before applying the tape. How about adding some hot glue before?
that would work
i thought of that as well
Nice
RIP Grant
JAROM !!!!!!!! were you at (summit) HEROIC YOUTH AS A VILLAN ON AUG 24????? I think I saw you!
I was there!! So was Jake!! I’ve been doing Summit for 11 years. I’m always one of the Generals.
You can use half darts to get better accuracy and higher FPS.
Back in my day we used full darts. Like men.

What size nurf dart works best for this?
Is Grace just gone?

was one liquid death taped over and the other not? haha

That is a glorious playlist
i haven’t watched in years obviously .. who tf are these people ?
Why don't you do what everyone else does and check out their channel info and watch a few of their videos? That way you'll find the answers. 🙄
Am I trippin or is that Jake Makes………….?
It is
First?
wonder if starting a new channel would be better.....dont mind you guys tho lol

It’s all the small stuff 😭 and it happens every time. Good grief.
TKOR videos should be short, detailed and to the point.
This video is none of those things.

Make some of your own then. It's not your choice or channel
Technically you can do it with just the two. Relax bud

wait where is Grace? She was peak TKOR
What kind of drugs are you on?
She was not
this show hav fallen hard
Dang I wish I could see comment dislikes
No my friend, it's climbing. Making giant gummies and putting random stuff in a cotton candy machine isn't what TKOR is about.
@@meridius4510 keep telling Ur self that I was here at the start
