Gotta admit tho. The background actors and jack Nicholson were having tons of fun bopping to prince's song there 😂
Very much I still think prince music in a Batman music. Is an odd connection regardless joker men enjoy dancing to his music like college kids at a frat party lol. It be like meg the stallion songs in a Wonder Woman movie lol
Bob is really hitting the moves😂
Sorry to burst your boner but the music gets dubbed in during post production.
Jack Nicholson really had fun with his performance
I’m still not sure he was “performing” I don’t even think he knew he was in the movie at times
@@JamezMorrizProjectz He's moving to the beat
@@thepowernator6241 yeah doing cocaine n role playing Joker can make you really into the role I bet lol.
Jack Nicholson liefert in Batman 1989 als Joker hervorragende Schauspiel Kunst ab. Unerreichbar 💎. Jack Nicholson ist als Schauspieler, ganz einfach, eine Klasse für sich.💎. Keiner beherrscht diese Schauspiel Kunst.
And he definitely reaped the rewards!
Jack Nicholson’s performance was impressive. The man is a legend!
I dont think he was performing I think jack really thought he was gassing the city
The man was molded specifically to play the Joker.
Yes, he is great. 😊
"Now comes the part where I relieve you, the little people, of the burden of your failed and useless lives. But, as my plastic surgeon always said, 'If you gotta go, go with a smile'!"
Why?

Damn that Batmobile scene was always be the best.. it never gets old
I'm pretty sure he just murdered a bunch of bad guys. 😂😂
@@kevinerosaglad I'm not the only one who noticed. They make such a huge deal over him not killing people then have scenes like that where there's no way the bad guy equivalent of red shirts survived
@@Michael-uc2pnTim Burton’s Batman had no problems with killing, and he makes it clear when he finds out who he is that he’s out to kill Joker for murdering his parents
@@kevinerosaTo be fair, this Batman take cues from the Golden Age version who DID kill in his early issues.
Bat wing 👍
My favorite Jack Joker moment is when he just shoots his “number one” lol that total joker classic right there
Always felt bad for Bob. It wasn't his fault.
@@zombieshoot4318 Everyone loved Bob in that movie, loyal asf n still got burned lmao.
Perfectly.
Played by Nicholson's best friend at that
Bob gun yes sir bang gonna need a moment or two alone boys
What else do you want in a movie, the legendary Jack Nicholson, Michael Keaton and an amazing soundtrack by the hands of the great Prince 😢
1:38 Watch Batman’s Utility Belt. Once you see it you can't unsee it.
🤣🤣🤣
His belt dropped like a jaw when it saw the Joker was still alive.
Yes unfortunately this is true
First time I've ever noticed it 😂
What made this movie so great was the wardrobe. The criminals reflected the mob like it was in the 1920s -1940s as well, and that reflected when Batman first started.
I can’t overstate for those who weren’t around in 89 what a huge deal this movie was. I remember Batmania was still going strong into the Italia 90 World Cup. It was everywhere.
After watching Batman Returns, scenes like this honestly make me wonder what the Penguin was doing during all of this. Was he watching this unfold from under the sewers or something?
That's a good point! Been watching both movies since I was a kid and never once thought of that. I wonder what he thought of all the Joker's antics.
They both had clowns as henchmen
It wasn't until Max Shrek was selected as major of Gotham. Penguin was waiting someone to re-emerge and someone he could trust with.
He was kidnapping children with his circus gang
It's a film lol
I think it's underappreciated how noble Alexander Knox was trying to be in this whole sequence.
I never got this part, myself-instead of getting in the car with Vicki, he just puts on a mask and runs out _with no plan_ except to beat any of the Joker’s men he can find with a baseball bat.
@@JFJDmaybe he figured if they lost the ballon said ballons would get high enough that their gas would stop being effective or drift away from the people.
He was phony tough and crazy brave.
This is my favorite Jack Nicholson movie. He's just having an absolute ball playing The Joker.
He is good in Angry Management with Adam Sadler too.
The suit up in the beginning is just four simple scenes and yet they capture the sense of Batman perfectly. Tim Burton knew how to do it right.
The one line you didn't want to hear in this movie. "Your my number one guy".
HE STOLE MY BALLOONS!! 🤬 WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME HE HAD ONE O' THOSE.....THINGS???
WHO'D KNOW?! THE FUCK YOU THANK I AM JOKA?! PSYCHIC!!??
Bob, gun

(Not considering animated Batman movies here, and only considering the Batman movies that I have personally seen…)
This is the best Batman movie. No question. Nicholson/Keaton is #1.
But I do very much like Liam Neeson-the first Christian Bale one…. With Scarecrow, etc. That’s probably in 2nd place for me…. Just a lot of straight up BRUTALITY in that one…. The concept of overcoming FEAR, etc.
I know the Dark Knight/Heath Ledger Joker movie is very popular as well…. That one is probably #3 for me.
The first Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie is notable as well, but since it’s just about Joker, it’s not QUITE a “Batman” movie…. But if we’re including it, it’s #4 for me.
#5 would be harder to pick out. Probably the Jim Carrey/Tommy Lee Jones/Val Kilmer one, even though there were definitely issues between Schumacher and Kilmer, as well as issues between Tommy Lee and Jim…. But Jim Carrey kinda really takes this movie to another level…. 🤔🤔🤔🤔 He’s nearly Frank Gorshin level good, playing The Riddler…
#6: The Penguin with Danny Devito. Not sure about that one, really, but yeah, Chris Walken helps a bit there, sure.
#7: (It’s getting harder to pick the right one…) Probably the 1966 campy/classic one…. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
#8: I’m gonna go with the suckiest of the Batman movies that I have personally seen - The Schwarzenegger/Thurman/Clooney/O’Donnell one. Yeah it sucked. But not quite as hard as many people say it sucked in my opinion…. And oh yeah, Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl…
Never saw the Bane one with Christian Bale. I know that’s a biggie, right up there with the top 5, etc.
Have never seen Joker 2. That movie sucks monkey balls, from what I’ve heard…
Have never seen the Catwoman movie with Hallie Berry. Was Michelle Pfeiffer in the Danny Devito/Penguin one? 🤔
Have never seen the Robert Pattinson Batman movies…
Any others I’m forgetting about? I’m not really including Batman vs. Superman as well, that one was kinda another stinker…
There are a WHOLE BUNCH of other similar superhero movies that get mixed up in my brain somewhere…. Especially within the last few decades…. All the Iron Man, X-Men, more recent Superman, Green Lantern, Green Hornet, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Hawkman, Fantastic Four/Silver Surfer, Black Adam, Thor/Loki, Avengers, other Marvel, other D.C., etc. characters/movies, all the Spider-Man movies, the Dr. Strange movies, all the tv/Netflix series superhero stuff, ALL that stuff…. The Christopher Reeve Superman movies still reign supreme as my favorite superhero movies (the first two of course, NOT the other two), and the Nicholson/Keaton Batman is the overall #3 favorite superhero movie of mine…
Oh yeah, there’s also Spawn, huh? That’s kinda bordering on horror though…. 🤔🤔🤔
I have NO IDEA how many other superhero movies I am not thinking of, of course, with more recent decades…
And I have not seen Leto as Joker. Of course…. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
Related to this, is not seeing any of the Ben Affleck Batman movies. Just…. Why???
The sad part about what went on with the parade is that the people of Gotham City pretty much came on the Joker's promise of free cash he'd give out in the streets and get a good time out of it. Then you take a good look at the cash on the 4:40 mark and you realize that he was basically giving away fake money. The people pretty much died for nothing and the Joker's the one who had a good laugh, as brief as it was, before Batman showed up. 💀💀💀💀💀
In the comic book adaptation, it’s revealed that these dollar bills have the Joker’s face on them. It was foreshadowed by the “My face on the one dollar bill”.
@@evanbao93 Most likely in the "I want to leave my mark in history" context, but who knew that he'd take matters into his own hands and do it? XD
My balloons. Those are my balloons. HE STOLE MY BALLOONS! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
one of the best combination of music and picture of every time
4:40 *Love how that bill just lays flat on the brim...* 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The criminal insanity aside, no one can say Joker doesnt know how to make an entrance.
He is a super villain right. He has a good presentation.
“If you gotta go, go with a smile!” that quote is dark in retrospect because it implies that the joker killed his plastic surgeon that we briefly see in the film’s beginning. The joker said “As my plastic surgeon always said” not “says”
"Batman Doesn't Kill" Blows up an entire chemical processing facility full of people.
A manmade disaster that would be on par with Chernobyl. There wouldn't be a parade, they'd be busy evacuating Gotham City.
Joker: "Into the air, junior birdman! miss me?"
Batman *thinking* "Not funny!"
Idk why but scene still makes me fall over 😂😂😂
While I wouldn’t say this is the best Batman movie, it’s absolutely my favorite. Pure Batman, and I love it.

Why Jack Nicholson is the best Joker! I told that to a few Joker cosplayers at comic con and they agreed with me.
And now folks, it’s time to for Who Do Ya Trust?
Hubba Hubba Hubba!
Money, money money!
Who Do Ya Trust?
Me? I’m giving away free money.
And where is the BatMan?
He’s at home! Washing his tights!
“Love that joker”.
Hands down the best Batman and Joker of them all!!!
Gota love Danny Elfman's score.
Best batmobile. Best batwing. Best batman. And best joker. All in one clip ✊🏿
A villain who would go all out to get what he wants making everybody his victims anyone who gets in his way
"Sex! It's not that kinda party...."
Yeah, his mind is so warped now that I doubt he even _cares_ about that anymore.
I could be wrong, of course. He, at least, seems to have a _somewhat_ traditional standard of beauty.
There is a tactical element here. The Joker is brilliant. When Batman attacked Axis chemicals to destroy the poison he used the Batmobile. Ground assault.
The Joker had the high ground and escaped by Helicopter.
So Joker attacks on the ground and Batman has the high ground in the Batwing.
Where does the final show down happen? Up high in the church.
Michael Keaton will always be the greatest batman as Jack Nicholson will always be the greatest joker of all time in my book 💯
Same!
I seriously used to feel bad for the Joker after having his balloons stolen when I was a little kid seeing this in theaters.
😂
We never got a good live-action Batman-movie in 90s. But at least we got one in the late 80s. For the first time in history.
What about batman returns?
@@daario2753 Batman Returns was terribly written, un-thought-out, perverted, often infantile and not-once akwardly idiotic - especially with Penguin's public scenes.
@Angyali your opinion 🙌
well, Tim Burton’s Batman Returns was considered the first “artful” superhero movie.
Batman returns came out in 1992.
best joker
Batman became my favorite heroe because of Tim Burton......this movie is very genuine and portrays Tim Burton´s talent
Not sure if it was intentional or not, but I can appreciate the joke played on the folks at the parade.
People get scammed big time
Wild how Batman doesn't kill but he has the Batmobile perform Smoke's MK3 fatality on the Joker's goons
Washin his tights! Loll
He didn't kill them, the bombs did
This one does kill all the time
Not just a good CBM but good a good flick and GOAT flick of 1989.

Watching this now I'm thinking: the thing Jokers is planning to do here is so cold, horrendous and grandiose that it makes Ledgers Joker seem like an idealistic student.
This film is insane.
the joker must be a metaphorical representation of 'the devil.' That's what I get when I watch Jack NIchsolson's Joker.
To this day I'm annoyed they took out the scene where it shows the money has Joker's face on it. It's so smart and works with another scene in the movie
"My face on the $1 bill." 😃

Exactly 😁
The bit where he shoots bob always cracked me up wen i was a kid my favourite bit of the movie
The best joker no question
Ledger’s Joker is a sadistic terrorist with actual end objectives…
Nicholson’s Joker is a sadistic, genocidal maniac who kills as many as he can when he feels like it….
Tell me who you honestly think is more evil!
So true. Guy murdered an entire museum full of people just to have a date.
The Smilex spread scene it's actually quite brutal
Yeah imagine if it ignited BOOOOOOM
That whole factory was a fire safety hazard to begin with
I know Jack Nicholson was in The Shining movie he played as Jack Torrance with his Family of Torrance
I just want to take a moment to point out how great Knox is in this moment by going after the Joker's goons.
Robert Wuhl did a really good job portraying Alexander Knox as an insightful, lovable sleeze, and all-around good dude.
In my head cannon Alexander Knox ends up with Vicki Vale.
Aw, No, Joker: he stole my balloons!!!!! why didn't anyone tell me he had one of those!? things!!👿! I would personally find that funny if you showed that at least before ending the video at least. just saying😂

wow. batman really had it in for that model of a factory.
Explosions and a fiery death? Nah I am sure those bad guys are just fine batman doesn't kill anyone with bombs.
Part of the reason why I got the Batman soundtrack with the late purple one Prince! Rest his eternal soul ✌️!
best batman
This will always be my favorite Batman movie, to me it got the tone just right, not as campy as the older TV series, but not as serious as the newer Batman movies. Just the perfect amount of a dark tone, but with just enough of a campy wink toward how ridiculous the premise, a guy in bat costume chasing a homicidal clown, really is.
And Where is the Batman?
He’s at home washing his tights 😂😂😂😂
anyone notice the money on his hat? Jack Nicholson will always be the classic
Uno de los mejores jokers de batman éste si se le notaba la demencia x doquier y el actor logró plasmar perfectamente el personaje del joker
The budget for this movie was $48 million. Most of that went into this (2:48) scene.
So much I see as an adult. First that gate was actually opening and if you notice from the pov of the Batmobile it was going pretty damn fast in there. Also you’re telling me the police couldn’t get a warrant to get in there ever? So far fetched in real life.
This movie realised when i wasn't born
The joker is the most criminalised villain you would come across in any movie 🎬 🎞 🎥
Yes he got a big pay cheque I believe
For some reason 4:36 is my favorite part. I guess it's because the money is fluttering around him and the little jig he does.

Two scenes in Batman that stood out:the junior bird man scene…..too funny and would foreshadow Michael Keaton starring in Birdman movie years later and Joker getting rid of Bob….smh…..a moment of silence for Bob the goon….🙏🙏
Where did the Joker get all that money? The comics and novelization reveal the money was fake. He was dumping $1 bills with his face on it, like he mentioned at the art museum.
