It would appear that about a month after posting this video, Neato went through a webpage overhaul for their new vacuum lineup and have removed the Software Update links mentioned in the video. I would like to hope this isn't just a ploy to get you to retire your old robot and but a new one, but we all know how big business works... I'll have to pull out my laptop I used to update my XV and verify the firmware is still loaded on it, but being the update was semi-web driven, I'm not hopeful. I have read from unconfirmed sources that the software update feature will be back in early Q2 of 2016, but at this point I would say that information is just speculation. Stay tuned...
Sorry, found out what the problem was. Google let your links post originally, but them spammed them later. I approved your messages for all to see now.
My XV-12 was packed away while we were searching for a new home... When we moved in to our new house, the batteries were shot. I have a warranty with Wal-Mart, just need to find time to claim it. If I can get a hold of another robot that doesn't have the 3.4 update, I'll definitely record this process that you've outline. Thanks for the info!
Just got this from a livechat with ppl on Neato's suport... "11:01:08 Firmware updates are no longer available. After an extensive review, it has been determined that routine cleaning and maintenance will address many of the concerns. "
XV and XV Signature are no longer supported for updates. I had an issue with my signature not vacuuming properly and Neato got me to reset it which put it back to the stock firmware but then I can no longer update. Fairly frustrated with that. Slack Neato. It's a shame none of the other vacuums even come close to a Neato.
Can anyone help with an XV-25? My observations are this The removed battery packs are holding charge 7.8v (no load) - the thermistors are behaving as expected after adding heat. The power supply / bumper wall charger are working as expected with 24v DC. The unit is unusually clean and appears to have had little action - all motors and switches are working to spec. Molex connectors have satisfied a continuity check Electrolytic capacitors look visually sound ** When the DC jack is used on the front of the vac - Im getting AC across red/red (10Vac) and black/black (13Vac) battery terminal pins. Weird? .........goes to find another PSU.
i have the same problem batteries run down quickly, do you still have the loader program and the firmware/software, my current software is the same as yours in the video
There customer service sux. I have an XV. Went to the website and opened an account 2 years ago and there was a firmware update available. Hooked it and the update download would begin then kept failing. I said Eff it. Must have wasted 1.5 hrs with it. Decided to try it again 6 months later, hooked it up and then it said no update available. Funny because it was available 6 months earlier. Almost a year later which is today I login and try again and there isn't even an option for an update. The POS won't even find its way back to the dock by itself. You have to baby sit it like a 3 year to so it won't get hung up under the dining room table or around other obstacles. The damn thing instead of seeing and object and going around it will first try to push the object out of the way. If it can't push it then it will go around it. It will even push the dock out of the way and then gets lost because it can't find the doc. No way in hell would I buy another product from this joint.
I know how you feel. This POS robot is dumb as a rock. It won't find it's base, instead lots of times it goes in the complete opposite direction of it. It looks like it'll scan where it's at, and then it matches its immediate surroundings with the stored map for the session, it'll think itself in a position it's not, and then I can just watch it persistently try to go through walls that shouldn't be there, according to it. What a complete piece of crap, eh? And also like you, their pathetic website is utterly useless wrt to upgrading this piece of junk, thus I'm stuck with this idiot 'robot'. I can't WAIT for another company to make a similar product, cause Neato won't be seeing MY money again. FUKEM!
What are you talking about? There are plenty of other similar products on the market by tons of different manufacturers, Dyson and Roomba at the top of the list. Yet Neato keeps winning hands down, because they're actually really freaking smart. Just sell your "idiot robot" on ebay then, because there's a demand for them.
I don't recommend Neato at all. All sorts of issues. Including mine I have 4 references of breakdown of Neato robots and all disastrous outcomes for each owners including myself. It breaks easy and stops functioning with new range of robots. Older ones were fine but looks like in order to save money they started going after cheap designs and cheap parts, because failures are quite consistent with newer models. I don't recommend Neato Vacuum Robots anymore. And like many mentioned over internet, their service is useless at best.
Unfortunately, the installer reaches out to Neato's website to download the latest firmware each time, then discards the file. I'm afraid this is probably an attempt to push people away from the old model XV's and to their latest botvac. :(
I think I purchased this in 2012. It no longer charges and most recently the screen is totally blank :( I have a laptop I haven’t turned on in 2 years, I wonder if I can actually try to update it ... or is this a lost cause?
Hi, Went on the chat option for Neato and they would not provide the 3.4 update. I noticed that you downloaded the firmware update. Can you forward your copy to me Regards Steve
As far as I know, the updating utility is designed to call to the Neato website to download the firmware. I have not been able to play with it long enough to figure out a way to side load the firmware offline.
Great, video!! Best one on TH-cam I've found. Does anyone happen to have saved the latest firmware update? Or has anyone found a legit site to get the update from? I appreciate everyone's efforts. Neato XV-21 current version 3.2. I believe the latest was 3.4 is that correct?
Thanks mate, best tutorial on firmware update for the neato XV on youtube !
On vacation away from home right now. I'll take a look at this again when I get home.

Do you have a utility to flash this with?
Not seeing your links anymore... The original updater was a web based utility.
Links updated.
The original updater is required for the drivers by the way.
Let me know if it works.

Can you use a lap top for update and recalibration?
Does anyone know where we can get the 3.4 update? I have the older Neato XV Signature running 3.2. Thanks.
They’ve since discontinued support for these robots. Sorry.
@@jado4me Is there any other way to get this update outside of Neato?
@@brianbagnall3029 Not that I’ve found.

matrox Sounds like you've got way more issues with your bot that firmware alone can fix.

Wat is the website name?
Is my Neato XV-12 not upgradable?
John Coffey Firmware? Not anymore.

5%LowBattery it’s a lost cause now. The update website/servers were taken down. This model vac is now two generations old as well.

3.1 is less than 3.4
