Honestly I love kens the most, how he switches to his younger self and talks about how he’s too weak. It’s like taunting him saying he’s still as weak as he was when he was a kid
Honestly his is my favorite. That whole interaction was like he saw ken wounded himself and instead of putting a little salt, he just dosed the whole entire salt onto his wound. I’ve always love the whole concept of shadows. Bring up trauma, ur insecurities, or bring up actions or thoughts that are morally wrong. It’s not something u should never forget, but to grow and move on to become a better person.
Tbh i saw it someway else. Like he was taunting him saying that his younger self was stronger. His shadow is basically saying that physically and mentally his kid version was superior. But yours makes more sense
But he wasn’t weak as a kid he kept up just fine with the rest of the SEES members and saved the world. That’s just his own negative thoughts about him
I find it interesting how Yu questions why he has a shadow, and to be fair he has a reason to be confused. It’s made known Yu has nothing to hide from anyone and has no inner self doubt, except maybe he does. Maybe he thinks he’s not fit to be the leader of the investigation group. And to see them actually take that route with his shadow is super cool
They've explored it a bit more in the anime as well. Your correct on your theory, but there's one thing u left out. Which is he's also scared of losing his friends. That all his friends will go their separate ways and leave him.
@@jcplays5831 tbh pretty much none of that was in the original game, Yu in that is little more than a blank slate that the anime heavily expanded upon, and it ended up sticking for P4 content going forward

6:12 I think Yu’s shadow shows how he might have desires to be more selfish and/or domineering on the inside. Tired of being pushed around in life taken wherever the wind blows him, he wants to be fully in charge for once. To be the leader outside of the tv world.
I really find it interesting how often the Shadows here are basically about regression. And yes I focused on the P3 characters, both because I like them more but also because it's a way to view them P3 itself didn't have.
