This isn't just a zoo tour, it's not just an aquarium tour but it's the first episode that can be considered both! The Pittsburgh Zoo's PPG Aquarium opened in 1967, Pennsylvania's first aquarium and at the time the country's second largest. Revolutionary to its era - after receiving a major upgrade decades later, it remains to be one of the few and one of the better zoo aquariums out there. In this two story, 45,000 square foot facility, we'll pass through five underwater realms: freshwater, coldwater, coral reef, open ocean, and the tropical rainforest. The journey includes a rescued sea turtle, a fish powerful enough to electrocute a horse, penguins, waves that crash over our heads, sharks of the shallows and I even briefly discuss the life of the last Amazon River dolphin in the United States.
That is indeed one of the best zoo aquariums that I’ve seen in my life. What zoos these days sometimes miss is the aquatic part. Ik aquariums are a thing but places like this would be very nice. What I have in my home town is the Brookfield zoo aquarium. I mean it is cool they have penguins and quite a few of tanks but nothing compared to this. If not all zoos wants to do something as extravagant as this they can do like Brookfield did, small and impressive!
What a nice looking Aquarium! Great Job with the video!!
I have been waiting to see this for a while now. It has been forever since I last saw the PPG aquarium since I live on the other side of the country but I hope to see it again someday, Thanks
Wonderful episode.
Aquarium of Niagara had a river dolphin at one point
Fabulous
It is a beautiful zoo. Thank you for bringing back memories of our vacation in 2018.
Looks gorgeous 💜🤘
Probably the best Zoo-Aquarium in the US! Zoo-Aquariums in Europe give us much room for improvement, though.
Greetings from Aruba🇦🇼🌴
Looks like an awesome aquarium!
I work at the Pittsburgh zoo and the aquarium is by far my favorite place to be. I've tried documenting most of the species there over the past 5 years, but I'm sure you know how bad the glare can be (The open ocean tank especially).
I confused the blue-spotted ribbontail ray for my home aquarium's blue-spotted stingray (I learned today is a Kuhl's maskray). I love the educational aspect in these videos!
I actually had a Bangi Cardnal for a while through my schooling. Little twerp was really good at hiding and found every single crack in the live rock.
Great job at tackling this very good aquarium when did the zoo get rid of their pink river dolphins
He passed in 2002, just realizing that I failed to mention that
I love your videos
I remember seeing the turtle last summer, it’s cool knowing why he swims the way he does!
The color scheme of the abbreviation "PPG" kinda reminded me of the Powerpuff Girls.
Will you be posting more videos on pittsburgh zoo. Awesome video 👌👌👏👍
I’m pretty sure he is doing Forest Passage then redoing older tours.
Whoa! Talk about a marine breeding center! Try visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium & the Seattle Aquarium in the future soon! Bubbling Mawsonia!🐡
So weird seeing the zoo I’ve been going to my entire life in TH-cam
When I went I loved the Giant Gourami. It was very friendly and followed me around the tank
Ok I like how the initials are PPG like the power puff girls but only it’s different
The big ocean tank also has an epaulette shark, but he very rarely makes himself visible to visitors.
What was that you said is in the Asian islands tank; you said barbs, pangasius catfish and "looneys"? Sorry lol
YES

That's not or wasn't in the aquarium.
