AC/DC is one of the most high-octane rock bands I've ever seen. Angus never slows down. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen him stand still.
People argue about the singers. But Angus has always been the show. Bon and Brian were sidekicks. Like Tonto to the Lone Ranger. My favorite band since 1978 when I first heard them.
I'm an original fan. I've been listening to AC/DC since they were a new band, & while I love the Bon Scott era, Brian Johnson rocks too. I love both of them. Angus Young is a blues master! I've been around for a long time (57) and still a big fan today. FACT: I heard Angus Y. tell a story in an interview. He said that they (the band) went into some pub and that Bon told them that IF anything ever happened to him to get Brian (who was the singer on stage bc he liked his vocals) . THE REST IS HISTORY !!!!
You like asking about how some songs appear in movies, but you didn't ask it here. Maybe you didn't see the movie "School Of Rock" starring Jack Black. You should check it out - this song is performed by Black with a bunch of kids. It's really cool!
Was a big AC/DC fan back in the day, buying all their new albums. When I heard Bon Scott died I thought we had lost a legendary band forever. Little did I know Brian would step in and continue to build the legacy into Rock Royalty status. For me, there was an adjustment period. I kept buying the albums but had to let go of my previous expectations and accept the change. To this day, I still CRANK these songs at deafening levels while driving..............because, now I'm losing my hearing. Thank you AC/DC!
Bagpipes! This is my favorite song by them. That riff too by Angus!!! Bon was born in Scotland and moved to Australia with his family when he was 6. Scotland is where my family the McConnell's of the McDougal clan came from. So that could be why I love them so much. That and my father and step father. Oh and Bon could play the Bagpipes. That takes a lot of lung power!!!
There’s plenty of people doing reaction videos out there, but what makes you special is your positivity and enthusiasm. It’s contagious! Thanks and congratulations on your success, can’t wait to celebrate 500k subs!
When Bon died I was in the 5th grade. I went to school totally bummed out, NOBODY knew who Bon Scott was. Fast forward one year and Back in Black comes out and EVERYBODY was a AC/DC fan. To me...Bon Scott is AC/DC...The Jack is the best AC/DC song and only Bon could pull it off.
Ive told my wife, and entire family, that when I die, the very last thing I want done at my funeral, is to have this song played as my last earthly request. I want those bagpipes, and Bon and the boys to play me out.....
Bon Scott was the singer for a few years, Brian Johnson has been the vocalist for 40 years already. Brian Johnson is the voice of classics like "Hells Bells", "Back in Black", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Thunderstruck", "Stiff Upper Lip", "Shoot to Thrill", "For Those About to Rock", "Who Made Who"...and many more. Most AC/DC success has happened with Brian as the bsnd's singer.
I had to laugh when Jack Black blew the fourth wall by ad-libbing lyrics during the credits. "Movie's almost over, Credits got to roll Look at that name there I... do not know that guy!"
The Crunge by Led Zeppelin does this. Its many fans least favorite Zep song but the opening is what made me love it. drums then bass then guitar then vocals
You are my favorite dude! You don't talk too much and I am right there with your reactions if that makes sense. I've listened to ACDC since they began. I'm 67 and I'm so glad people are discovering the great music they missed the first time around. Thanks and keep up the GOOD WORK! 😍😉
Brian Johnson is the only person who could have ever filled Bon's spot. Two different type of singers but both equally powerful, I believe that Brian has proven over all the years that he was the correct decision to carry on after Bon.
I was thrilled to see you react to this song! Warms my heart to hear and see it! Legendary! Humble beginnings! I read somewhere it cost them 350.00 to make this video! I love this band so much! They have never changed, just good hard rock and roll. Thank you for reacting!
@@RoboDrinks it does not look like any street is closed, they are being passed by traffic and pedestrians are looking surprised. Also there are busses still running the route. Could be one lane was closed?
Thanks for fulfilling this request Jamel. I, however, love both singers. Bon also saw Brian live and praised Brian's singing and this shocked the band as he had never praised another singer in their presence. So he was the first and only person they called after Bon died for the role as he was the only one Bon praised. So I still consider it prophetic.
I'm an Australian immigrant. I love the respect you have for this song. It came out just before I got here and of all the things I had to adjust to, good music was not one of them. Thank you Jamel for treating this song with the respect it deserves. Peace brother
I was listening to this song at work with my headphones on and when the bagpipes started, the guy that works to the left of my cubicle popped his head up and said ' Do I hear bagpipes?'. I started laughing and said it was AC/DC. Later on, I found out he was of Scottish, didn't click at the time as his nickname was "Dutch". Still thought it was funny he never heard this song as he listened to rock.
Thank you for showing your appreciation for both versions of this band. I remember seeing them with Bon at the helm back in Australia before they left our shores. Angus had this really long guitar lead that allowed him to jump from table to table during a solo, which meant we all received our own personal solo from him. Everyone in the pub passed his lead around so that he didn't get unplugged! Amazing stuff. We were all shocked to hear of Bon's passing, but the depth of talent within the band allowed them to pick themselves up and restart. The rest is history as they say....
When they were looking for a replacement for Bon Scott they wanted a "screamer" and along came Brian Johnson under a lot of pressure did a great job taking over as lead vocals for AC/DC
the true story is the Bon had seen Brian sing in Adelaide I believe it was and loved his voice. When Bon died, Brian was contacted and history was made. Its well documented.
British rock from down under. The Stones set the table and they all ate.... And I now see that bagpipes are perfect for rock and roll. Who knew? Not me.
"How cool is that?" I think it's brilliant to put bagpipes in a rock and roll band. It's a loud, outdoor instrument. Rock music is typically pretty straightforward harmonically. I don't know why it isn't done more often.
Jamel.... Another Bon Scott classic I think you’d love is “Jailbreak”, yet another of their all time greatest hits ✅✅✅ .... “Peace out & ROCK OUT mate!!!” 🇦🇺🤘😈🤘🇦🇺🎸🎸🎸
Another one of my all-time favorite videos. As for which singer is "better." I prefer the Bon Scott era, but both Bon AND Brian blessed us with some of the best working man's rock and roll on the planet. Both of them win in my book.
Love your reaction your face looks like a little kid watching in amazement. Still blows me away 45 + years later. Im a Melbourne boy I miss my youth and the gritty city of the 70s and 80s even 90s.
Just an interesting historical sidenote - this is the first rock song ever to feature Scottish Bagpipes, no surprise really when you consider that Bon, Angus and Malcolm were all born in Scotland. This song has been around since the 1970s, I don't feel like it's dated at all !
Actually, "Skypilot" by Eric Burden and the Animals has the first Scottish pipes, although technically, Burden secretly recorded the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, and it wasn't done with permission. Maybe the first case of illegal sampling too???
edward lansdowne yes indeed, but actually, They didn’t even know how to play bagpipes.. they have grown up in Australia so long, Bon Scott didn’t even know how to.
@@gdaym8635 Wrong. It doesn't matter where you grow up, you can learn to play any instrument. And Bon DID know how to play. th-cam.com/video/pmUMXEn1Lf4/w-d-xo.html&feature=emb_logo

I also want to say how I appreciate you saying rest in peace to Bon Scott. By the way, Malcolm Young passed in 2017. I love your open mindedness to listen to different music. You inspire me to do the same. Take Care Buddy!
At some point, you’ve got to react to “Ride On” by AC/DC. One of their few ballads, and I think an amazing example of what Bon and the rest of the band were capable of. It’s a side of the band that they never really showed after Bon passed.
Ride On takes me right back to being in the cab of my Dad's truck as a kid dozing on the sleeper when it was just starting to get light. I don't think I can ever hear that track without wanting to climb inside an old sleeping bag that had a strangely comforting smell of coffee, cigarettes and diesel.
I was in Melbourne (Australia) CBD when this happened I was 14 years old and running along behind the truck.
Awesome. Cool story to tell the grandkids. Did you get to meet any of them?

He said that they (the band) went into some pub and that Bon told them that IF anything ever happened to him to get Brian (who was the singer on stage bc he liked his vocals) . THE REST IS HISTORY !!!!
You like asking about how some songs appear in movies, but you didn't ask it here. Maybe you didn't see the movie "School Of Rock" starring Jack Black. You should check it out - this song is performed by Black with a bunch of kids. It's really cool!
Came here for the School of Rock reference. That was a great version! Gotta love the bagpipes in this one.
Loved school of rock.
i prefer the school of rock version tbh =)
Absolutely amongst my favourite "go to" movies for an instant pick-me-up. 👍😁
This comment needs more Likes so that maybe Jamel can notice it. Just added mine lol
Yeah that's all great, but I was most impressed that you took the time to learn a bit about the band too. That's missing in a lot of reaction videos.
You can tell you love what you are doing
When Bon died I was in the 5th grade. I went to school totally bummed out, NOBODY knew who Bon Scott was. Fast forward one year and Back in Black comes out and EVERYBODY was a AC/DC fan. To me...Bon Scott is AC/DC...The Jack is the best AC/DC song and only Bon could pull it off.
I have to slightly disagree, while Brian can’t pull this one off or Jailbreak, Brian is king with The Jack especially live at Doningon
I like AC/DC no matter who's singing. They're music is always fun.
Seen them 4 times and they were all fabulous
@@Samuel-I I saw them twice. Once with Bon Scott and once with Brian Johnson.
Ive told my wife, and entire family, that when I die, the very last thing I want done at my funeral, is to have this song played as my last earthly request. I want those bagpipes, and Bon and the boys to play me out.....
Same with me. My kids know what ACDC mean to me, I taught them well lol... They know they have to playthis song for me when I go.
I absolutely love that. What a song to go out on 😁
@@lowrider4266 My husband wants Hell aint a bad place to be 🙄😄
@@lorrainequinn that's a nice one too. More fitting for that occasion lol
I want the last song played before I go into the ground to be Ride On.
Rest in rock and roll heaven Bon and Malcolm
Shout out to all the people in Melbourne, Australia where this was filmed.
No traffic! Bloody amazing. Swanston st Melbourne
It’s empty like that right now, actually. For different reasons, of course.
I was there that day :D It was a Saturday afternoon in the CBD before folks lived in the city centre. It was pretty quiet on the weekends.
David Kinder A big G,Day back at you 🎤🎵✌🏻🇦🇺
Thanks mate 👍
Shot in Melbourne's Swanston st. They have ACDC lane named after them nearby.
Pronounced locally: Melbin
man has Melbourne has changed so much
Cherry Bar was so good.
I still sing it's a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll lol
A time capsule
Bon Scott was the singer for a few years, Brian Johnson has been the vocalist for 40 years already. Brian Johnson is the voice of classics like "Hells Bells", "Back in Black", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Thunderstruck", "Stiff Upper Lip", "Shoot to Thrill", "For Those About to Rock", "Who Made Who"...and many more. Most AC/DC success has happened with Brian as the bsnd's singer.
This was also in "School of Rock" This band was also way ahead of its time! That was so cool, thank you!
I had to laugh when Jack Black blew the fourth wall by ad-libbing lyrics during the credits.
"Movie's almost over,
Credits got to roll
Look at that name there
I... do not know that guy!"
The best
This song has a "terraced entrance" where it starts with one instrument and adds more and more. I love songs with this musical style.
A technique used frequently by Deep Purple.
That's kinda like AC/DC's signiture opening
The Crunge by Led Zeppelin does this. Its many fans least favorite Zep song but the opening is what made me love it. drums then bass then guitar then vocals
Interesting..never heard that phrase before..I suppose Hells Bells would be a classic example of that..
@@gunlean7738 Im not sure there is a formal name, but that is what Ive heard
You are my favorite dude! You don't talk too much and I am right there with your reactions if that makes sense. I've listened to ACDC since they began. I'm 67 and I'm so glad people are discovering the great music they missed the first time around. Thanks and keep up the GOOD WORK! 😍😉
Heck yeah! Early AC/DC is some of the most fun music of any type you'll ever hear.
Brian Johnson took Bon's place and even he had second thoughts because he knew he had big shoes to fill.
He did a pretty good job filling em, but I bet he had mad blisters on his feet for awhile.
Brian Johnson is the only person who could have ever filled Bon's spot. Two different type of singers but both equally powerful, I believe that Brian has proven over all the years that he was the correct decision to carry on after Bon.
robert cutting Forget shoes. He had Big Balls to fill!
They originally wanted Noddy Holder from Slade to replace Bon, but he decided against it. That would have been something to see/hear
@@QuincyPostman I would have loved that. Brian's voice was shot after two or three albums.
Perfect description of Angus Young.
Oh hell yeah i have waited so long to watch you do this song. Thanks. Made my day.
I was thrilled to see you react to this song! Warms my heart to hear and see it! Legendary! Humble beginnings! I read somewhere it cost them 350.00 to make this video! I love this band so much! They have never changed, just good hard rock and roll. Thank you for reacting!
Rolling down Swanston St in the heart of Melbourne, baller. They didn't have permission as I understand it, but they're f#@king AC/DC
I’m sure I read somewhere that Molly Meldrum organised it for Countdown.
@@JudeAussie yeah they had the street closed for this and it costed about $400
@@JudeAussie That's more likely than an unannounced truck mounted band rolling down Swanston.
@@RoboDrinks it does not look like any street is closed, they are being passed by traffic and pedestrians are looking surprised. Also there are busses still running the route. Could be one lane was closed?
@@christopherlane5238 most likely i just read in a book that they closed the street down
Thanks for fulfilling this request Jamel. I, however, love both singers. Bon also saw Brian live and praised Brian's singing and this shocked the band as he had never praised another singer in their presence. So he was the first and only person they called after Bon died for the role as he was the only one Bon praised. So I still consider it prophetic.
This was great stuff. I was lucky enough to see them once with each singer.
One of the best guitarists of all time there. OF ALL TIME!!!
Some '70s AC/DC, there you go. Try a little "Jailbreak" and "Problem Child" then a couple more from the '80s "Money Talks" & "Who Made Who".
Vern Hoke JAILBREAK -LIVE AT DONINGTON
Who made who is not often heard, but deserves to be!
@@cheekkeith74 I think he's looking for early AC/DC. The original Bon Scott was still around.
@@crackerjack9320 It's a good one just like Money Talks. I remember it from Stephen King's movie "Maximum Overdrive". That whole soundtrack is killer.
listen to the whole soundtrack from Maximum Overdrive
AC/DC: "Jailbreak"
AC/DC: "Big balls"
AC/DC: "Dirty deeds done dirt cheap"
Kiss: "Strutter"
Jailbreak is a very good song to react!!
All 4 of those songs suck. Especially Big Balls. Music for simpletons.
and Squealer
Big Balls is a fun song, and Dirty Deeds is a classic.
Now that's a list! Big balls first!!!
I'm an Australian immigrant. I love the respect you have for this song. It came out just before I got here and of all the things I had to adjust to, good music was not one of them. Thank you Jamel for treating this song with the respect it deserves. Peace brother
Bon Scott was asked if he was the AC or DC in the band's name and he said, "I'm the lightning!"
Tom Higgins classic Bon wit.
That playful lightning is why I often prefer the Bon Scott songs more. It showed in the music, too.
Can't complain either way, though.
"The flash in between...:
He's the flash that preceeds the Boom!
LOL
Absolutely no one:
ACDC: bagpipes!
😂😂☠️
Exactly!
You can't put bagpipes in Rock n Roll!
Bon Scott: "Hold my Scotch"
I was listening to this song at work with my headphones on and when the bagpipes started, the guy that works to the left of my cubicle popped his head up and said ' Do I hear bagpipes?'. I started laughing and said it was AC/DC. Later on, I found out he was of Scottish, didn't click at the time as his nickname was "Dutch". Still thought it was funny he never heard this song as he listened to rock.
Mitchell Johnson Bon Scott would have found a way to play those pipes while still drinking the scotch.
Bon Scott is and will always be the Voice of the ACDC I love the most he earned it the long & hard way !!!
When they were looking for a replacement for Bon Scott they wanted a "screamer" and along came Brian Johnson under a lot of pressure did a great job taking over as lead vocals for AC/DC
they did think about stevie wright , he would of been perfect , listen to black eyed bruiser
There was a list of guys that they had they asked Noddy Holder but he turned them down.
the true story is the Bon had seen Brian sing in Adelaide I believe it was and loved his voice. When Bon died, Brian was contacted and history was made. Its well documented.
British rock from down under.
The Stones set the table and they all ate....
And I now see that bagpipes are perfect for rock and roll. Who knew? Not me.
RIP Malcolm Young too! Angus was always up front while Malcom was the backbone.
This was our walk in song at our reception when i got married! We had a Scot-Irish wedding with a bagpiper :)
Now THAT’S a rock n roll wedding, respect!
"How cool is that?" I think it's brilliant to put bagpipes in a rock and roll band. It's a loud, outdoor instrument. Rock music is typically pretty straightforward harmonically. I don't know why it isn't done more often.
Some of my favorites from the Bon Scott era are Problem Child, Gone Shootin' and Ride On. You can't go wrong with any of those songs.
Jamel.... Another Bon Scott classic I think you’d love is “Jailbreak”, yet another of their all time greatest hits ✅✅✅ .... “Peace out & ROCK OUT mate!!!” 🇦🇺🤘😈🤘🇦🇺🎸🎸🎸
He made it out, ..........with a Bullet in his BACK!!!!!!!
Jessica Martens .... THAT HE DID!!! ☝️😆 It’s one of their all time classics huh??? 🤘😝
Jaillllllll break!
My absolute favourite ACDC Song
Tee Mac ... ROCK ON!!! 🔥🤘😝🤘🔥🎸🎸🎸
Bon Scott was a BEAST! Among my top 5 best blues/rock singers!
ACDC 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' with Bon Scott
Also include "Big Balls" from that same album
Neck ties, high voltage TNT😂
Please
Another one of my all-time favorite videos. As for which singer is "better." I prefer the Bon Scott era, but both Bon AND Brian blessed us with some of the best working man's rock and roll on the planet. Both of them win in my book.
Bon & Brian are 100% better than the original singer.
Just like Rock never dies it never dates either😁
@@ffjsb Off down the rabbit hole now, cheers.. Eric Burden, hero status, too.
edward lansdowne yes indeed, but actually, They didn’t even know how to play bagpipes.. they have grown up in Australia so long, Bon Scott didn’t even know how to.
@@gdaym8635 Wrong. It doesn't matter where you grow up, you can learn to play any instrument. And Bon DID know how to play.

Jamel - "Look how young they are!"
YEA, it was 1975-76
I told him he should watch let there be rock Angus really looked like a school boy
Being an Aussie you are the first black American i heard say BON SCOTT was great cheers mate thats respect big time an shows u know a great singer when hear one
So awesome how much you get in to, like, and appreciate this song and band. They have been my favorite band since I was ten years old and I'm now 52.
Agreed, that was a great song.
Brian has a song with Geordie titled Oh Lord that he did before joining AC/DC that is similar in tone to Ride On. Both great singers.
@@ElroyMcDuff Ride On is a masterpiece
Ride On takes me right back to being in the cab of my Dad's truck as a kid dozing on the sleeper when it was just starting to get light. I don't think I can ever hear that track without wanting to climb inside an old sleeping bag that had a strangely comforting smell of coffee, cigarettes and diesel.
A lot of us live that song ride on could relate to it
AC/DC will always be a favorite band of mine.
I remember when they did this clip. I was about 8 years old and it was all over the news because they'd almost brought Melbourne to a stand still.
There’s a reason I’ve watched “school of rock” so many times!
Love the call and response of the bag pipes and guitar, my favorite AC/DC song
Rocker is another good AC/DC tune.
