So much truth in this video. There is a tipping point in income above 150k that allows you to build legacy and sales is the path to it if you are technical with the ability hear business needs and covert that into technical solutions.
He said something to the effect of "The person who knows how to SELL the tool makes more money than the person who knows how to USE the tool" That's where I'm at. I'm tired of using the tools. It's getting boring. It pays well, but not well enough for the amount of technical know how to need as an engineer.
You need to be the main engineer / architect at a f500 or tech heavy company for 5 to 10 years is my honest answer. 2 the smartest engineer is probably better working at TAC or professional services. Th person that makes it as an SE will be that engineer plus be extroverted with the ability to hear business needs and place their product as part of the solution. It pays big because it’s the top 10%

No they are not.
