Just for you to know, Shangri-la was the first Korean traditional concept by a boy group that got a huge attention at MBC gayodaejaejeon in 2017, which led following groups to try Korean traditional concepts for their own. The song was written ALL in korean, no English at all, and all members got their hair dyed black. The fan choreo was no joke, that they had to practice hard. You should react to their dance practice of Shangri-la, too.

Not quite accurate. Vixx were the first to use a traditional korean influenced choreo but not the first to use Korean traditional elements in their music or performance.
In my house, we support Hongbin and Ravi, they didn't SLAYYYYYYY for that long for me to forget about them. The way VIXX can jump from concept to concept just DEVOURRRRRRR, is a crazy talent. NEW COMEBACK!! LET"S GUARRR

@@retro_mxxn3334 it’s a bit of a mess it’s a lil rabbit hole really Ravi tried to use a medical excuse to get out of mandatory military he used epilepsy he only got caught because the guy who did the papers bragged about a rapper he just made fake papers for yeah he exposed Ravi and many others he forged for so that was a mess Ravi did a long apology I have epilepsy so I was let down i forgave you should read his long apology and Hongbin went drunk live stream and went buckets of crazy about the industry and flipped viewers off went rounds with fans because of what he said about other groups basically he said his opinion on kpop which is a big no no because you must smile and be saints there was a apology but honestly it was awesomely epic all the anger in the chat then flipping them off I love it when idols rebel they take to much abuse

fun fact back when they were still active, during music shows ending, u will always see VIXX among the crowd of idols cuz they're the tallest ones 😂 so usually unless they're nominated, they stood at the very back or the very left/right so nobody's views will get obscured 😅

VIXX did a cleaner version of Voodoo Doll, it does not have all the graphic gore, yet you still get the main theme. They are truly vocal legends and their harmonies are superb. Glad you found them.
Based on your preferences in this video, for your next VIXX, I'd suggest:
- Chained Up
- Fantasy
- Error (you can't get into VIXX without seeing this!)
- Eternity (this is just one of my personal favorites of their title tracks, but still^.^)
Also, when it comes to VIXX, dance practices are a must that is often, sadly, overlooked. *Their MVs rarely do their choreos justice, and that's saying somethin! *

This was perfect timing cuz they are about to have a comeback after like 5 years! Only 3 members will be in it tho Leo, Ken and Hyuk... N won't be participating he actually wrote a letter to fans apologizing for not being apart of it but he wants to focus on his acting... I'm a little sad we won't get all 4 members but I respect his decision.

Voodoo doll is something else, I’m pretty sure it was their first win! There’s actually a “clean” version too if you wanted to watch that one without the body gore (if I remember correctly, wasn’t this the first kpop video that got an 19+ rating? And that Hyuk technically couldn’t watch it cause he was 18 when it was released😂)
Vixx is such a unique group though, visually they’re so imposing considering they’re all around 6’ which is definitely different in Kpop, but they also were definitely the concept kings and tried everything (making chokers popular was a big one). I also always loved their dances because while they may not be the most insane in difficulty for every song, they truly fit the songs on a performance level and their MVs usually always had stories, which is definitely not the norm anymore. Plus they incorporated a lot props which was cool (i.e. the staff in Voodoo doll, fans in ShangriLa) thanks for checking them out!!
27:40 that's Leo, he has some solo work that I think you'd really enjoy, and is also half of the vixx-lr subunit with Ravi, which has 2 mvs, beautiful liar, and whisper. I hope you check out more of vixx in the future, they're absolutely incredible.
Vixx?! I never thought people would react to them these days but I can’t say i'm not happy, i've been a fan ever since 2014 with their beautiful song “error” and to this day i still think they’re one of the unique and interesting groups that are considered a hidden gem these days but one you find them, it’s hard to forget about them. I mean there is a reason why they’re called “concept kings” and i think it fits them very well. I heard they will be back soon and i've never been so happy. Vixx and B.A.P are easily one of my favorite groups even though B.A.P has disbanded “good for them!” And Vixx had a lot of issues the past few hears but as a fan, i'm glad to see them back.
A fun fact, since the first couple of songs from VIXX were very colorful and VIXX's mascot (ROVIX) looks like a cartoon robot, many children were actually fans of VIXX. Then the song On and On came out and VIXX turned dark, so basically all the moms from kids fans, became fans haha So I think that's why many VIXX fans were on the older side to begin with because they were moms who went with their children to fansigns and then became fans themselves later on ❤
We’re all in love with Ken we understand fully 😭😂 his voice his look.. yupp they’re all so beautiful they’re one of those groups that did just fantastic music, so well rounded whilst being so individually unique 😭 I miss them ! Vocals always hitting they just know what they’re doing

Ken is consistently listed as one of the top 10 voices in Kpop, for good reason. His voice is amazing, he is amazing, and he just obviously enjoys singing! I love watching him on singing shows, like Singing Battle (when he was a Hidden), Duet Song Festival, or King of Masked Singer. He always slays.
So so glad you enjoyed VIXX. As a Starlight for nearly 9 years, I have a lot of pride in what our concept kings have accomplished. With them releasing a new mini album at the end of November, this feels like perfect timing. Error is the song that got me falling hook, line and sinker for them, so I'd recommend checking it out!

Voodoo doll well, voodoo doll concept. Shangri la concept is east asian paradise you'll notice the lyrics in this song are purely korean.
Scentist concept is perfume makers they even included scented cards in the album! Kinda terrifying but its inspired by a novel about perfumer turned serial killer that "preserved" their victims' scent- yeah when you read the lyrics n look at the red "perfumes" with this information its eerie 😭😭😅
Since you're not comfortable with grotesque concept I wont recommend Hyde.

Check out their b-sides too when you have a chance. Love Letter, Hot Enough, Spider, Odd Sense, Trigger, and Black Out would be great songs to start with. Honestly, VIXX's discography is filled with lots of winners.
Vixx is always such a breath of fresh air
Now you see why VIXX are called the Kings of Concept. They are known for their story based MVs with choreography that is designed to be a part of the story.
Fun fact: Ravi -- main dancer and main rapper -- is really good friends with Taemin and Kai. And yes, the guy you are in love with ("brown hair guy" in "Scentist") is main vocalist, Ken. LOL you said Ken's face was really recognizable and then you called him Hyuk. (All you have to do is search the member's name with the name of the MV and you will be able to see who each person was in the MV.) To me, Ken's name fits him very well, he has the most Ken doll look out of all the VIXX members, which might help you to recognize him. Leo was the blond in "Scentist" that was attracting you with his looks, Hyuk is the maknae with the auburn-colored hair.
VIXX has a lot of great songs to watch during Halloween, or any time. I recommend checking out VIXX's "Error" MV and sub-unit VIXX LR's "Beautiful Lier" (Leo and Ravi) next, if you don't already have it on your list.
If you want to really see how their concepts carry over into everything they do, you should check out their dance practice videos, especially "Voodoo Doll." They are also known for their dancing and for their really cool choreography.
For example, for "Voodoo Doll" their choreography is all about being voodoo dolls, so the moves are supposed to look like they are the dolls being controlled by the girl and the giant pin is the needle that she keeps poking into the voodoo doll to inflict pain on them.
As you can see, the song is called "Voodoo Doll," so the girl is using voodoo to control the members. As you probably know, you make a voodoo doll with an enemy or person you want to take control of or get revenge on in mind, and after putting a voodoo spell on it, it is now linked to that person, so everything you do to the voodoo doll that person will feel or react to. It's a way to make a puppet out of a person and force them to do and feel everything you want.
In the MV, the girl is obviously crazy and unwilling to let N -- VIXX's leader -- go, so he is forced to endure the pain and suffering she puts him through. He tried to get away, but in the end her spell was too powerful and she pulled him back in.
She is a sadist who enjoys inflicting pain on people and it gives her pleasure and makes her happy. The whole story is about being trapped in a toxic relationship. Look up a translation of the lyrics to see what the song is about.
There is also a "clean" version of the "Voodoo Doll" MV. As you saw, the original version was rated 19+, which meant they couldn't show it on Korean TV, so they had to edit the footage to take out all the gruesome and violent images. And they had to change the choreography for their live comeback stage performances as well because the parts where they pretend to stab each other also were too explicit for live TV.
Fun fact: When they shot this MV their youngest member, Hyuk, wasn't even old enough to watch the video, so he couldn't even see the final footage without special permission until he was of age.
Therefore, if you want to show someone this MV, but they are too squeamish to be able to handle all the torture, you could show them the clean version, without all the blood. ;p However, they did have to cut a lot of the choreography, so it feels like it's missing something and it's harder to follow the storyline.
Always love VIXX and voodoo doll is one of my favourites . There is another version which isn’t so graphic but still hits . Along with B,A,P and Infinite they are one of my all time favourites groups
the Shangri-la dance practice is worth it not only for the great dancing, but the actual live sound from the fans opening is ASMR on a realest level, can highly recommend it

Ah so happy you did VIXX. I just commented last week on Caitlin Benson's channel when she did one of their songs for Halloween week that dearest Ken is totally underrated and under used. This guys vocals are in a word beautiful. Miss you Hongbin, Ravi what will we do???. You may feel Ken's the one for you but word of warning Leo will take your breath away visually. This dude should be sculpted in every material available to mankind!!!

I had this phase where I was completely obsessed with VIXX. I got into them maybe a few months after the released scentist, and I fell DEEP into the rabbit hole. I watched almost everything they had put out which is rare for me. That 4-5 year hiatus and everything that happen during it was killing me, but I'm happy that they're back now even if N (my bias) couldn't participate. I'm such a huge Starlight, so bing watching this playlist is going to be like reliving my experience through you. If it wasnt for their long hiatus they'd probably still be my #1 ult group. It's hard to pick because their discography is s tier but I think Scentist, Shangri la and Fantasy are my favorite VIXX title tracks.
Their new song Amnesia is great // I listen to the clean version of Voodoo Doll all the time // love that song.

Vixx is in my top 5 best KPop groups ever. Definitely watch live performances if possible since their choreography is next level. Recommend Error, Chained Up and Hyde

I got to see VIXX in concert in 2014 and the concert organizers for it were a mess, but the boys gave a spectacular performance despite all the craziness! I can't wait for more of these reactions!

As many have pointed out, the guy who caught your attention is the main vocalist, Ken. VIXX is dubbed as the Concept King (you're about to find out why after reacting to the other MVs) and these are just the tip of the iceberg.
I just want to tell you that Scentist is inspired by Perfume: The Story of A Murderer by Patrick Suskind. Scentist is the combination of scent and artist. That's why the album is named Eau de VIXX. Here, I attached the synopsis. Hope this helps.

The Voodoo Doll dance practice really shows the choreography, without the gore thankfully. The song is great though.
Ken is so attractive haha and actually his personality is really adorable and pure. My bias in SVT is DK and I thought they have a lot in common (they have such a strong vocal but also have soft, pure personality )

I got into this group at the end of 2012 right before they came back with On & On (I was also listening to them casually since Super Hero), and they became my favorite boy group not long after. Until KNK (also a tall group) in 2016, I don't think I've been as into any boy groups as much as I was with them. Maybe as a tall man, I have a thing for tall men. 😂😂😂
The memories!! I graduated high school shortly after VIXX's debut and I spent a lot of my summer listening to Kpop and playing video games. 😭Growing up a gamer, their early concepts were right up my alley. Rock Ur Body would be great to check out too.
Omg! I got so emotional for some reason, I didn't realize how much I missed them. I did consider myself a Starlight in the past and it had been such a long time since I listened to Superhero, so many memories came back to me 😭 this video rekindled my love and obsession for VIXX. I really hope that you continue reacting to their other songs, especially The Closer.

The stage of 'Shangri La' at the Gayo Daejejon became so famous that VIXX was invited to perform at IOC (International Olympic Committe) General Assembly opening event for the Pyeongchang Olympic. They performed in front of no other than the President of South Korea ❤
Fun fact: Hakyeon/N's picture (him in Shangri-La's costume) was on the front of the korean presidential website for a year (or maybe more? I forgot)

Ever since I got into K-Pop VIXX was the first and is still to this day the only group that I truly follow, know the members and most of their songs. I was SO excited when they finally made a comeback about 5 months ago; I saw that you reacted to Amnesia already, but I'd like to suggest to you, since there's no other song from their EP that has an official video, I would highly recommend giving a reaction to their Suit Dance version of Amnesia too, as it really lets the choreography shine!
Also, I'm guessing someone must have said it already, but Voodoo Doll also has a "Clean Version", which is more choreography oriented without the most gory stuff. (It was the song that introduced me to them and K-Pop in general, so it still holds a special place in my heart)

Voodoo doll is one of my fave VIXX songs. They are the kings of the dark concept. After they started doing really dark concepts other groups in the industry followed suit. Any concept they do others tend to do the same one. Like others have said they are the concept kings for a reason.

Not sure if someone's mentioned this already, but since you liked Scentist, I recommend checking out the 'alternate' versions they did for it, even if if off-camera - the alterations they made to the choreo and rap are gorgeous, particularly in the MBC version ☺
