Also there's another new bridge under contruction linking Yoker/Clydebank to Braehead . You were waiting on the wrong bus going from Govan to Partick you should have got the no.89 .
The 89 went out of service around 2 years ago and was replaced by the 189/190 which only runs at the same rogue hours in the evenings, not during the day 😕😕
I was there a week ago and the new swing bridge is still a 'work in progress' with no public sccess although I did fly my drone along the river to get some nice shots of the bridge. As one of your other viewers commented, you should do a video on the govan stones and the old graveyard where I found a team of people busy uncovering some of the buried stones in one corner of the graveyard. A look around inside Govan Old Parish church is highly recommended. It's just awesome.
Not sure anyone is in that much of a hurry to get to Govan. Last time I checked there was CCTV and controlled entry and exit to the pedestrian tunnel. Safer than being in Govan. 😆
This pedestrian tunnel also has a separate cycle path running alongside it. I personally haven’t used this pedestrian/cycle tunnel since the late 1980s. The NEW bridge is an easier cycle ride too! 😅
To think that there once had been many small ferries crossing the river but today there is only one .. that between Renfrew and Yoker. The shipyards which once stood on both sides of the river made cross river transport a necessity in those days. I do remember walking under the river (before the Clyde Tunnel opened). The Harbour Tunnel was dark, damp and gloomy. Now all that remains being used are the two accesses - the North Rotunda and the South Rotunda.
It is now privately owned and operated I believe. I travelled on the ferry on the last day it was operated by SPT. I think that was around 2010? @@Oponu-Ayirada
As a teenager, I travelled on the Kelvinhaugh pedestrian ferry between Three Ell Lane in Govan over to Partick. This was near the graving docks and Govan Town Hall. It ceased operation sometime around the 1980s/1990s I believe. Once this ferry service stopped operating, the closest river crossing was the Millennium pedestrian bridge at the Glasgow Science Centre and near the new BBC TV Studios.
Firstbus are a complete joke. We really need to take the buses back into public ownership.
Very informative. You should do another on 'The Govan Stones'.? Thousands of years old and the beginning of Glasgow!
I agree 100% Those stone are an importamt part of Glasgow's history.
Risking Your life by walking the clyde tunnel ? I live in Govan and use the Pedestrians walking path of the Clyde Tunnel almost everyday
Been looking forward to this one for a while.

Nice video, understand your remarks regarding Clyde Tunnel....This bridge will hopefully help Govan.
For me, this brig represents the sad demise o the Scottish Engineering Industry!

Riverside is a joke , loads of missing exhibits from the previous kelvin hall venue , plus ones that are there some are in a terrible state
Great video. Interesting to see how Glasgow has changed over the years. 👍🤩🤩
The 89/90 used t go through the tunnel rather than go to Braehead. I didn’t realise the bridge was coming soon.
Do you know when the bridge will be open?

Riverside museum is probably the worst designed place ever if you're my height 5'6".
I'm 5,5.8 and I've never had a problem with it
