I just wanna say, it is super interesting hearing you discuss what is and isn't realistic about the game. It would be interesting to hear you talk about room clearing tactics, as well as how you determine when lethal force is appropriate, and what you think about the game's RoE (especially regarding the mass shooting missions).

    Hello Chris
1.) regarding shoulder, neck heavy armor, you can remove it in customization menu. Look at 13:15, it is the blank slot next to helmet menu for armor customization.
2.) Any shirt, pants or helmet which has mini white square/number with it, it's mean that shirt, pants has more than 1 color and you can choose its variation.
3.) You can choose LAPD SWAT 1990 uniform set which contains helmet, boots, shirt, pants, gloves and PVS-7 NVG once you complete all 18 missions campaign mode. I'm you might feel nostalgia. Cheers!

Hey Chris! just wanna say that I love your loadout design when it came to your SWAT kit for RoN. I follow the idea too by simply giving Breaching shotguns to all of my Swat members/presets at all instances since it's a pretty surefire way to make sure my team are able to enter locked rooms if one of them were incapacitated or killed during our mission.
For a grenadier class, I find it a bit risky to implement it in this game since it basically narrows down to one single member to be mostly responsible with the flash/CS grenade inventory. I use this tactic quite alot, and there was a case where my Grenadier class would be killed during a mission. So, I would be left with very minimal resources of throwables XD
BUT, I think the grenadier preset is great to not confuse the SWAT AI much whenever I want to do a breach & clear order with bangs. Usually, whenever my Shield officer would have his own pool of throwables, the shield would bug out when in animation and would break the immersion a bit.
Overall, this is a great video! I come back to this every time I wanna reexamine my kits. Thanks for the amazing content!

Thank you for the insight on the usage of CS Gas and stingers. Seen too many people overusing it now in-game like it's the end all be all, When in reality It's more situational and rather inconsistent.

I main the crap out of CS gas for the simple reason of it being good, but I completely understand that flashbangs are the norm in terms of throwable equipment.

I don't really like using CS, I only use them if I'm trying to get a map/mission in S-tier for the trophies (since I'm also a trophy hunter), but after I get the trophy/accievement, I stop using them and return to the flashbangs.

Nice to hear the take of a real swat guy.
Of course there’s a difference between what works in game and real life. Any real swat guy would know the whole team must be equipped with bean bag shotguns against military grade enemies if you want to please the higher ups. Hahaha.
Curious to hear your opinion on the enemy A.I and the mission set ups, and also how you might improve the game

A capable man knows what he speaks about and also clearly knows what he aims for - and so do you. I love to see that people use and enjoy the diversity of gear and different combinations, what results in different playstyles, different playtroughs and different obstacles to master.
Keep it that way, bro. You look like a person born to laugh about a bunch of Rambos with their internetknowledge trying to explain your job to you.
Edit: Just saw the description - yes, I like those kinds of videos. I'm here on this channel for the whole topic itself, not just for gameplays. I like to play games like boys, and talk about adult stuff like men, and this kind of video gives me both!

I use the heavy armor and can actually remove the shoulder pads etc. by going to Customatazion and selecting a different vest in the Tactical gear menu. You then have the protection of heavy armor with the visual appearance of a light armor kit.

Great info, my group loves learning about this kind of stuff even though we tend to approach the game witout considering realism a ton. None of us are LEO or military, just fps enjoyers. Flashes are definitely strong in this game, my group makes use of them a ton when we play, basically how 90's tactics were described. We also have one person run the mirror gun, unrealistic sure but very good from a gameplay perspective, helps us determine if we want to conserve our flashes and/or if we need everyone to clear a room together. We have at least one person run a breaching item of some kind. Shield is hard to use since you can get really bad glare and the window is small, plus there is a huge accuracy penalty when firing your pistol, I've tried to make it work but we have found it's better to flash and cover all angles with our rifles. We've also found that running light armor and sticking with ceramic still provides great protection and doesn't have the large movement speed penalty that comes with heavy armor.
I'm not a huge tactical shooter guy but I really like Ready or Not, feels realistic but still has enjoyable gameplay mechanics and doesn't exchange realism for fun too much.

Thank you Chris THE COP this was a nice video. Happy new year! However it brought up other questions if you could shed light on them or maybe do a followup video:
    1. Is it as easy to kick down a door as A.I. officers do it in Ready or Not?
    2. Is there such a thing as putting a chemical plastique around the lock and burning it out of the door with a slow burn but not too slow not to have time for it? Like some Termite composite mix?
    3. How accepted are less than usual high capacity mags? How frequently have you seen lawmen use those in the same type of missions you ran? Like +5 PMags, Drum mags, Snail mags, Coffin mags, coupled/taped mags, extended mags? Any special extra mag holder on you, like strapped to thigh or inside buttstock?
    4. If you encounter mirrors in interior areas, what is their significance?
    5. Do you ever use Shotguns or breaching rounds to blow a hole in something without it being a door you'd want to go through?
    6. Do trailers really need to carry hostages that have bomb vests and suspects who have intentional sew-e-side bomb vests on them? Or other explosives?
    7. How often do you find yourself having not enough supplies of anything? What do you do? How do you get more ammo or grenades?
    8. Can CS gas be flammable? Have there been stories?
    9. What happens when encountering unforseen significant fire or electrical hazards?
    10. Do you ever need to destroy a padlock somehow? How? Do SWAT teams have access to some blowtorch cutter?
    11. What possible places can a SWAT officer put his badge to be visible and during such a delicate operation what would the real reason be for a visible badge?
    12. Do you have use for any kind of Smoke Grenades? What kinds? Can you call in drone-dropped smoke grenades to a location?
    13. What determines if some supporting Sniper person has the greenlight to fire?
    14. How many types of traps does SWAT need to watch out for during a deployment? Explosive or maybe even chemical or fire-based? Where are they put? How to watch out for them?
    15. Do you have any sort of vehicle mounted fire support weapon? Even if non-lethal.
    16. Have you ever seen SWAT use a Light Machine Gun? What would their usage be?
    17. What are all the ammunition types beside AP FMJ, JHP that you use? Beanbag, breaching surely. Foam/sponge you mentioned perhaps. Rubber bullets/batons? Launchable grenades obviously. Anything that splatters glue all over the place perhaps?
    18. What is the lowest and highest officer count you know of on a SWAT mission?
    19. Can Stinger blind someone?
    20. What is the original intended purpose of a 9-Banger?

It's a loadout! It's meant for you to play with it. We've roleplayed SAS Iranian embassy kit, 'nam "SWAT", as SWAT teams from other nations like the GIGN, GSG9, 1993 Delta Force, SEAL team on the bin Laden raid, 1940's LA Noire style, loadouts we used while in service. It's fun! And it's even more fun to go completely outside of your comfort zone. Sometimes our goal wasn't even what the game said, but had to go against AI using automatic weapons with a python or a 45 simulating the '40s, and our final objective would be for everybody to survive the mission, etc.
It's a game! You're supposed to have fun with it!

You make a really good point about swapping techniques. I think the NTOA is trying really hard to make itself nationally the standard. But honestly, the best thing they give us is a broad spectrum. I don’t know if you guy’s trained with the FBI. But they’re a great example of what you talk about. I’m amused that their SOP is kind of like a giant loop. I’ve been around long enough to watch them loop all the way from one set of approaches all the way back to it.
Because ultimately they would run into an issue, try to fix it, only for the fix to have an issue. So they fix that issue by going back.
Improvement isn’t a rope to climb. It’s more like a spiral staircase.

The baby story is no urban legend. It happened in Georgia during a drug raid. A toddler was so severely burned he was put in a medical coma. What's worse is when the family sued the department the department argued that the suit should be dropped and the department not held liable for the injuries. Rather than just paying the child's medical bills.

Alpha and Bravo are red team when using in game command menu.

After watching and listening to alot of expert react videos, I have abit of an enquiry as to what would be done in real life.
    1. Situations where a SWAT team has been given the best equipment but the suspect/suspects are not as at a disadvantage as theorised. For example unexpectedly possessing up to date military-grade gear.
    2. The situation just getting out of hand very quickly. For example some of the shootouts you see in movies and TV shows.
I'm just curious to know how these two scenarios would really be handled?

    • @ChrisTHECOP
      @ChrisTHECOP  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I am sure there have been situations where suspects were well armed but in reality why would they try knowing they were not going to make it out. I have been on call-outs were suspects were well armed but in the end of the day, killing cops meant a death sentence or life in prison. Any shoot out is bad as far as I am concerned given the potential for an innocent civilian to to hit and killed. There are just too many variables that are needed to answer your last question.

I know that West Germany directed HK to develop the PSG-1 following the Munich massacre, for use by police precision shooters (particularly by the then newly formed GSG-9 counter terrorism force), albeit with a heightened capability for precision at ranges beyond what would typically be expected of police marksmen, and you can see a number of features which would become standard on future precision rifles. But then you also get mad lads like the GIGN in France who attached bipods and scopes to their MR-73 revolvers, alongside their more standard FR-F1 scoped precision rifles... On that note, I highly recommend you seek out the interview with GIGN founder and original leader Christian Prouteau over on Forgotten Weapons (Rigor, Discipline, and Excellence: Christian Prouteau on GIGN Training and the MR-73). The man is a living legend.

Honestly, using AP in real life makes sense. You never know if an enemy can be wearing body armor. Got to be prepared for the worst. Same goes for them. If the enemy is using good weapons and AP ammo then shields can get you killed when you think you're immune to their fire.

I'm almost sure the flashbang crib story is true. Like I remember reading it in the news. Heck, I had no idea it changed everything! But, still, why not just not throw it in cribs? We're flashbangs effective though? Sounds like they were! I'd rather be hurt from a flashbang than shot accidentally if I'm just a bystander innocent.

After all of your logic behind the mirror gun I don’t think I could use it anymore😂 like I guess mechanic wise for the game it would be useful but now I would just feel rather silly😂 besides they always come and open the door randomly it’s a bad spot to be in anyways

  • @jesterdewit478

I don’t think in any of these situations would you actually want night vision because what if somebody turn the light on I’m talking really bright or even come in with a flashlight because I heard noises rest in peace your eyes lol, instead you could use a flashlight which nowadays especially I would assume swat would have ones that are basically spotlights not only can you see your blinding potentially a suspect as well

I think the old Swat-3 was a more realistic game. There's no beanbag shotguns or pepperball paitball guns. The Swat-4 added those non leathal weapons. Swat-4 wen't also into wrong direction with the kind of cartoon style graphics and scenario design. It was nice to start the Swat-3 with the smaller one thug arrest type missions.
Enemy and squad AI was better tuned on the old Swat-3 than what have seen on Ready or not. But even the old games suffered from iron man type non complying enemies sometimes. It's kind of odd to actually see how after all these years a new game isn't much of an improvement over the old but only tries to mimic many of the old gameplay mechanics.
When the Swat-3 elite edition was released it was possible to play the multiplayer mode with two five officer squads to have ten swat members in total. Maybe a mod or update can help with the player count in Ready or not.
VR glasses would still be a cool way to try Ready or not if it was supported, but understand that it would not actually be financially wise to add VR support with the current device and player base.

Completely forgetting the physical practicalities of using a mirror/camera under doors for a second, how long do people think they get to clear a room? As soon as an entrance is breached everyone in that building knows you’re there, you simply would never have time to do it and the pile up it would cause in hallways would probably get a lot of people killed. Checking things with mirrors/cameras etc works for eod when they have a secured position not an assault team.

      @ChrisTHECOP  ปีที่แล้ว

Clearing a building is a fluid concept. You can try and do stealth or deliberate, just depends on the type of call or warrant you are serving.

@@ChrisTHECOP my point wasn’t “you can never infiltrate quietly or slow down” it was “if you’ve just shotgunned a door off it’s hinges you aren’t going to all pile in and stand still in that same room waiting for somebody to get trigger happy on a connecting wall while a mirror is shoved under the door peaking around for a few minutes” which is what you see people do in this game. (I do love that it can punish them though with the enemy firing at closed doors/walls if you make a lot of noise, very much enjoying it when I get time to play)

    • @Veldazandtea
      @Veldazandtea ปีที่แล้ว

@@ChrisTHECOP It also depends on if the enemy is expecting you. If I saw a stick under a door and thought the enemy was behind that doot and I was carrying a weapon then shooing through the door, or even tossing a grenade comes to mind. Better off relying on sound.

Play it however you want. Let kids or older idiots complain, who cares about their opinion at the end of the day. Some of them may be "gaming" the best possible setup for the in game "meta", but the fun in the game for me is to try to simulate different real loadouts and situations -> that way you get way more variety in gameplay. So, each to their own.
