      as a second, I always bring things that the couples usually forget - a pocket fan for the couple during those hot summer wedding days. Extra water bottle for the photographer who never stops to take a break. ;)

    Instax prints on the wedding day is a fantastic idea! I've done this as a surprise for my couples and it always blows their mind that they can already take home a (literal) handful of photos with them before the full gallery is ready.

    Interesting you bring dedicated flat mats to every wedding. Wouldn't that just be cumbersome? I've been shooting flat lay details on whatever nice textured backdrop I can find within the prep locations, I think it's a cool way to introduce their home, or wherever they're getting ready into their detail shots.

      They really are amazing cameras. The biggest thing for me with the X-T4 is that it’s a great camera but I prefer not having the flip screen. If it didn’t have that I would mainly use the X-T4.

      Yeah that Instax Wide is game changer. It doesn't connect to the cameras directly but you can print from your phone. So basically transfer the photo from your camera to your phone, then print on the Instax. Super cool.

    Oh that Instax link wide printer is sweet! Picked one up when it came out. Love being able to print out my images from camera to phone/ipad to printer. Would be easier possibly, if I shot Fuji. Definitely going to have fun with it and all the added features that come with the app. Imagine if you had a preset link to the wedding album and put in on the print as a qr code. Or a voice greeting from the happy couple/guests? So many options with that app and printer.

    With your portable storage device, that sounds great, I guess it’s always handy to get an instant backup, but do you end up doing a second or even third backup from your original SD cards when u get home? Because otherwise your trusting the images transferred properly from that one backup and I know it’s rare but I have some mates curse they wish they had done seperate backups as they have lost whole folders from cards, I generally do a minimum of 2 backups and always from the original SD cards not a copied version. Maybe I am overkill 😁

    What specs did you end up going with for the MacBook? Not sure if I wanna go iPad Pro or new MacBook don’t really do video myself. Just photo and content consumption.

    • @jbivphotography
      @jbivphotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I kinda went all the way. A 14” M1 Max 64GB Ram. It’s a bit much but it should be amazing. I might make a video on iPad vs MacBook Pro since I myself have been riding out on an iPad for so long.

      @adamspidle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jbivphotography nice I’m so conflicted I’d probably just go lower end or I’d be fine with an M1. But I like the portability of iPad but 13 to 14 MacBook isn’t much different if you use the magic keyboard for iPad. But like being able to edit with touch/pencil on iPad. That would be a great video that I’m sure many would benefit from.

    • @jbivphotography
      @jbivphotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I REALLY don't like laptops. However now that I'm a "full fledged content creator" having Final Cut on the go is a MUST. I've ran into too many times now where I needed to edit something or could have kept editing something I'm already working on and wasn't able to do it while I'm traveling. And I travel A LOT. That's the main reason. If they had ever come out with Final Cut on the iPad I probably would have stayed on the iPad. But a laptop is just too much of a need now.

      I could but I don't like doing that. Also, the iPad doesn't have that much space on it. The GNARBOX is so small too I can pop it in my bag and use it rather than having to break out a whole iPad at a wedding.

    Hey man
    Is it possible to get the same colours that you always got in canon cameras

      it is. The Natural Feels Preset works on all camera bodies and gives you the same overall look and feel. You can purchase it in the description. Also check out my past live streams to see the preset in action on all types of camera bodies.

    John! How do you import your cards with your iPad Pro? I have a 2018 iPad Pro and when I import 4,000+ photos into Lightroom it’s incredibly slow and crashes halfway through.

      I tend to not do my imports directly on the iPad. I’ve done it before and it does take super long. I’ve never had it crash but it’s not the best experience. Generally I import all of my images on my main computer and then have that sync back over to my iPad.

      @@jbivphotography That’s reassuring to hear! Thanks for your input. Yeah, it sucks, but it’s the main reason I can’t JUST have my iPad as my main machine. Thanks for your reply!
