Enjoyed this episode so much! Thanks so much Marc, Dave and Bob! And the M5 is a major sleeper. Has been a staple of my rigs since 2012 for the same WYSIWYG reason. My favourite moment: Bob on modellers - "Aren't you tired of fuckin' around?"
You two are so patient. The gear sale show was awesome of course. I used to shop across the river at Motor City Guitar, Marty is the best. It’s totally obvious that Dave would be best buddies. All the best from 🇨🇦 P.S. Those were some cool sleeper pedals, not to mention the amps. People had a problem with you selling gear? At good prices?……ugh
I was doing a show for Motley Crue in 2007 or 2008 Mick had a killer rig I seen he had a soldano x88 a slow and a bunch of old Marshall's and a Rivera bone head and a killer Bradshaw rack nicest rig I've seen
I’m crazy bummed, I couldn’t listen live but honest to god without Bob Bradshaw and Dave Friedman (Rig building/Rack Systems) to steal from there would be NO Fix Pedalboards Accessories. Both will never get an invoice from me for their metal fab. Seriously Bob invented my whole business and what he didn’t Dave did.
I didn’t mind the “Dub Version” at all.. Felt like I was starting a 🍄🍄 trip 🤪😜 Thanks ToneTalk for another great episode with Mr Bradshaw! Dave, I am really enjoying Danish Pete from the Andertons Channel playing your Little Sister Head. Sounds superb with a variety of guitars and effects. It’s on my wish list but is $2000 + tax up here in Canada… Just for the head! Darn exchange rates. 😎
I can tell you, the Impact comment from Dave is very TRUE, last time I saw Sebastian Bach, Detroit band Kaliedo opened, their guitarist was using an Axe Effects, power amp into a 4x12 cab. Cool sound(liked his playing/tone). BUT then my dude Brent Woods had HIS Marshall rig ready to go. The Bas set kicked off with some Skid Row & it was a HELL of a difference, I will FIGHT for my tube amp/rig setup...That moment in my life, I'll NEVER forget. Brent's tone had BALLS & the spread onstage was VASTLY different, that "punch" was there. Thus backing Dave's "Impact Argument" with live bands using TUBE Amps.
Mark..!!! It’s fine Anyone who’s watching this knows what an echo is and aren’t sweating it.. those who are are insufferable, ..we just want to hear about the gear.. no problem
Mick Mars IS Motley Crue. The recent gigs Crue have done with John 5 sound lifeless. John has no weight and authority to his sound. He needs some serious help in the rig department.
Much love, watch regularly. For everyone watching, I hope we all take Dave with a grain of salt when he talks about modern gear. Of course he'll argue for amps over modellers - It's what Dave grew up with, it's how he made a name for himself in the industry, and it's how he continues to make a living. I have a lot of respect for that and him, which is why I'm a regular listener. Just means there is an understandable bias on this topic. So when he says things like, "no one had a problem mixing Led Zeppelin back in the day," well of course not, because there was no other way to do it 50 years ago. The same could be said about Bob building "space station" racks, Zeppelin made due without! I know Dave knows this, as he admits it near the end of that line of conversation "this is an old man rant," and Bob jokes out it. This is exactly why I still come to watch, Dave has an opinion, but can admit it's just that. I've had to haul amps and gear to gigs, to university studying music... I am much happier with my Helix going direct. It comes down to logistics for the actual working musician; cost-effective and time-saving choices, when the only people who'll know the difference are the other guitarists/hobbyists in the audience. Even then, they'd only know the difference because they used their eyes and see it's an FRFR speaker pushing air rather than a guitar cabinet. Devin Townsend just had a rig-rundown drop on TH-cam where he describes exactly why he uses an AxeFX, worth a watch too for more info from another pro on this topic! Looking forward to the next interview, Marc & Dave!
That's fine. I like both. I get tired of the people completely on one side or the other and saying the other one is terrible. Pick what you like and use it.
As an owner of many Friedman guitars and amps, I love them, but... what does using a tube amp or modeler have to do with stage volume and impact? Isn't it the difference between having cabs on stage or not, no matter what is pushing them? If someone uses a Powered Kemper or a Helix with power amps pushing cabinets, what's the difference in volume or impact (tone aside)? thanks.
I also remember when the show was ending me and another crew member were at the back stage area Tommy Lee comes out and tells us to leave and there tour guy told us to stay put his name was kahuna big guy about 6 foot 8 looked like the rock any way Tommy threw a bottle of Jager mister at me and the other crew member it slid down the ramp and we lift our feet it goes sliding by and kahuna sees this and grabs Tommy by the throut and picks him off his feet and yells at him I told them to stay put
Superchixxx....you need to get a Radial BigShot ABY switcher,....it's 2 switches 1 switch changes between amp A nd B,...the other swutch turns both on simultaneously.(It also has a tuner out jack If you want to also be able to change channels on each amp,....you are going to need to use each amps channel switching pedal. You're not going to be able to find a simple single switch pedal that will do amp switching as well as a amp channel changing all with one switch. The Radial BigShot, and the amp's channel switcher pedals will be the simplest way to dow want you want,.....so you would need to hiit the amp switcher for changing amps,....channel switchers for changing channels. ( I just bought a used BigShot for $60 Cdn)
Thank you Bob for coming on the show. The first 18 minutes has some rough echo. If you don’t want to watch that, fast forward. Thank you
I think we need a Bradshaw episode every 3 months 😅😅his stories and such are so good. Thanks tone talk
Great episode, I could listen to Bob all day
Always great to hear from Bob.A wealth of useful information for all of us. Glad to see he's doing well after his escape from LA.
Cheers guy's, Bob's a legend.

Fantastic show guys!!
Another great episode, thanks guys !!

I need to shop from you soon, what a great comment :)

"Dub version" 😂😂😂😂😂
Looks like Easy Star All-Stars will be on today's playlist 🍻
I guess i should have 🍄 when I was merely 💨
I loved the conversation.
Bob's left the Edge's rack on
17:26 Sound's Finally Sorted. Bob answering a question about Mr Mars's sound.
'Women are from Venus.....Mick is from Mars-hall'.
@@MrPsaunders I believe Bob says Sol- dano 😉
I think of Blackberry Smoke, they are playing real Amps and have a great live sound. Who needs modelers!?

Agree, John 5 is a bad ass however his tone and such is not the Mars tone and feel
The echo is on Dave’s end.

A podcast with some of the greatest audio engineers in the industry... and the sound is wack, haha!
Just goofin' ... you guys are great!
it's pretty hilarious how bad bob's internet is. geez 2023
I don't know what he uses now but back when George Metropoulos was building his plexi replicas he was using PEC Pots.
I'm with you re Kemper. Also like a space ship. Too complicated.

The difference is the interaction of tubes and speaker…that makes an impact on volume, impact and tone
Bob's voice sounds like mick mars
Bob trying out 80 s delay on his voice😂
I'm here
Sounds like Bob is speaking threw a Megaphone
I also remember when the show was ending me and another crew member were at the back stage area Tommy Lee comes out and tells us to leave and there tour guy told us to stay put his name was kahuna big guy about 6 foot 8 looked like the rock any way Tommy threw a bottle of Jager mister at me and the other crew member it slid down the ramp and we lift our feet it goes sliding by and kahuna sees this and grabs Tommy by the throut and picks him off his feet and yells at him I told them to stay put
My dudes this is fucking psychedelic!
I dunno about the Moore Reecco, it never impressed me. The Ana Echo sounded killer, true BBD but only 300ms like the DM2 and old Ibanez pedals :(
Edit: listen past the 15:00+ mark for no more echos.
I'm sorry to say but this is pretty difficult to listen to with Marc and Bob's competing echos.
Listen past the first 15 minutes and you will hear it improves
@@tone-talk yes!!!! Indeed it does. Thank you!
Your just reminiscing about different tech guys… I thought this was going to be about gear…
Sorry we didn't meet your expectations. Get Bob on your own show and ask what you want
Love the show, but the bad net and echo on the voice too much to handle
You guys should get the SunnO))) on. They have quite a rig!
