  • Here is some advise I have to give about buying a bike for a motorized bike build.
    I also go over some tools that you should consider getting for your bike.
    And remember guys, break-in is not just about the motor. The Kit's hardware, and the bike itself require a break-in / adjustment period.

      Looks to me like you need a dog drawn carriage with two dogs seeming on how he out runs the path dragon. And on a side note. Did you ever go back and try to make contact with the owner of the dog you ran over. That cracks me up hearing the dog bark in slow motion...bbbaaaarrrrrkkkk bbbaaarrrkkk bbbbaaaarrrkkk.. Lol

    Pro tip: if you strip out either the exhaust studs or the intake in the cylinder threads, you can run a 1/4"×20 tap straight into the holes without drilling first and then just get yourself some 1/4"×20 bolts and you're good to go!! I have done this more than once- even Chinesium is a little tougher than aluminum and it's quite easy to over-torque especially the exhaust. Make sure the cylinder is cooled off before trying to tighten any of that stuff too because it strips out way easier when hot!

    Legit simplification. As far as cheep frames go the Next Bayside from Wal-Mart is pretty damn good for a road cruiser. Very noob friendly in terms of fit and the A-arms have some boxyness that takes very well to the chain tensioner in a way that doesn't move like it does on round stock. Given you follow this checklist.
    Also, save your blown tubes for rim liner.

    Looks like some rough riding, that's how I snapped my frame on both side, broke my fender mount and broke my basket supports. Don't get a huffy Nel Lusso cruiser if your gonna be off roading because they're made of alluminum. Look for a steel frame and save yourself the headache of swapping bikes to return a junker.

    hey, i’ve got addicted to motor bikes for about a month or two, i have tried my friends flying horse engine on a walmart cruiser and he was offering to sell it to me for 200 dollars. i was wondering if u think that a good idea. also i wanted to ask u what the ideal combo is. like what’s the best engine kit to buy and what’s the best bike for that engine(under 500$ budget). anyways i love watching your videos and your the best creator on youtube i have found on these bikes. and i love just watching you zoom down the fire road type trails.

    • @LAHover
      @LAHover  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      200 for a working bike is a good deal, if it's not all beat up a rigged at least... I have yet to find a bike motor combo that is spot on without upgrads/mods. But the huffy cranbrook is the best budget bike that is motor friendly so far. Thick spokes, coaster break clears the sprocket, wide triangle for any motor, 26" wheels make upgrades and transportating easy, can install rim breaks, steel frame, really nice seat.

    what sprocket you mostly run on your trail bikes?

    • @LAHover
      @LAHover  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly the stock 44 tooth is find for most of my trails on any 26" wheel. It's less of a hassle to install. But for the muddy trails, and sandy paths where you just want to grunt through and get dirty, I love the 56 tooth.

      Indestructible bikes. They have outlasted any other bike I have bought for my kids in the last 5 years. (although they will rust out quickly if not protected from the elements) I am re purposing one for a motor build but would like to put on a suspension seat post, better seat, and get a longer handlebar stem or different handlebars to mimic my hybrid bike. I haven't figured out if being more upright is better or worse for one of these. I'll have to do some research. It looks like you took off the decals, looks a lot better.

    I don't recommend higher end bikes, 2 reasons, first was stated in video why chop an expensive one. Second is they do not hold up ant better guys , they crack in the same places in the same time frame, my avatar is a 28 yr old frame, other stuff has been changed bearings mainly, rims, brake pads, oh man brake pads shread the alloy rims fast, groove them.
    On my second build now just hunting for a frame or bite the bullet and get one of those frame in tank units

    first upgrade should be a hub adapter

    • @LAHover
      @LAHover  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree. I think they have their place, but I do not recommend them as a first upgrade. Nor do I recommend them to a new builder. Bikes with 1" hubs should avoid them, as well as builds with larger sprockets.
      They work well on coaster break hubs, and bikes with small sprockets.
