I don't mind friends for careers, in general we can expect a sim if they were a normal human to only get to like lvl 3 of their career, in my opinion most careers it makes sense you need connections to make it further. The culinary career it doesn't make sense, but it does in most careers.
It actually makes sense to think of it as making connections, as the hobby instructors if you befriend them they not only count as a friend, but reduce total friends needed by 1 in related careers (so if the nature hobby instructor is your friend and you have the natural scientist career, it reduces the amount you still need by 2)

@@CreusaSims Just so you know, it's not being friends with them that reduces total needed by 1, it's the act of befriending them. If you need 1 friend for a promotion, you befriend the hobby instructor, but just barely and they stop being your friend before your next workday due to natural relationship decay, you still meet the friend requirement.
Yesss I also have to get rid of 'friends needed for careers' and make university faster! :) I don't mind a lot of the hairs but do always need retexture defaults at least!
The scene with zombie townie friends attacking Mary-Sue is something 😭
Out of the ones you've mentioned I agree with annoying friendship notifications, clone townies and unreasonable jealousy system. But I think the thing that I hate the most is automatical LTR progress. Your sim hadn't talked to their school friend in years, called them once before becoming an elder... Voilà, they're best friends now! And the BFF feature makes it even worse, because relationships become UNBREAKABLE! I was trying hard to make Beau dislike Brandi who "sided" with her lover Gordon King, but that was impossible, he always kept the BFF flag 😡

I also hate having to get friends for a promotion…makes me trap people that come home with me in the hot tub until they become friends with my sim.

Are you brazilian by any chance? Maybe i'm just tripping because i'm still learning, but your accent kinda makes you look like it. I loved the way you recreated the Abaporu and Operários paitings in the sims though
