Jeff McNeil needs to be traded. He's too emotionally dysfunctional for an already dysfunctional franchise. Hopefully on the right team he'll flourish, I just don't think it's going to be the Mets

Next 16 games Phillies(2), Marlins(3), Padres(3), Rangers(3), Cubs(3) and Yankees(2). 6-10 would be an overachievement.
It's going to be a tough road. I'm not even thinking of the playoffs this year, I'm just hoping we take this season to fix things.
Here's what's 'new' to consider for the remainder of June: Torrenz, Iglesias, Vientos, Scott, Megill, Peterson, returning Alvarez, Young, Nunez. Here's what's been moved or demoted; Narvaez, McNeil. There's no reason for despair YET. There's just too much baseball left.
I've been a Met fan since the 70s. We have the most loyal and equally miserable fans out there.

If you are looking at Soto's body language day in day out, you can tell that he is having a lot of fun especially with the Aaron judge's of the world. Plus the Yankees fans have been cheering soto and the entire team all season so far, and nothing can top that.I would be a bit surprised that he would leave this for a boatload of money and that be his only motivation

We have infused young solid talent into a lineup that was stale. They got rid of the two biggest problems in the lineup and defensively in Narvaez and McNeil. Alvarez is coming back soon. The young pitchers are coming up soon. Megill and Peterson are healthy and ready to go. If Diaz was not absolutely awful, we would be over .500. Calm down the despair. The Mets are not as bad as THEY think the Mets are.

Let's see, every year they had hot streaks, and every year they ended up 70-80 wins. Really not hard to figure out. Tesla once said the dumbest thing is to do the same thing over and over and expect different results. This core roster has proven who they are over the years, a 70-80 wins team. They need new core players to add/subtract to build anew.

Then days prior strikes out not even an attempt on a backdoor breaking ball. Like what in the world? How is this even a discussion? You have no momentum. The farm is a few seasons away from making a true impact and reset. Yea, your 3ish games out from the last wild card. The Mets are AWFUL and will ALWAYS be the lil forgotten brother in NYC. Even in 2015, no one gave a rats ass about the Mets because they are the Mets. I hate this station with a passion.
As a lifelong Mets fan, I could never understand why fans of the mighty Yanks could ever be bothered by the Metropolitans. I do get the whole "little brother" mindset but you should take your Yankees colored glasses off. Even if the Mets won the next 5 world series, the Yanks would still own the town. There's alot of national league fans in this town and they'll come out if the Mets are good. I'm a Rangers fan and I know that no matter how many cups the Debbies and Icelanders win, the Rangers will always own this town.

I still hate Walter O'Malley in all sincerity. SOB robbed the whole city, which had become established as the absolute mecca of baseball. The Mets were an incredibly weak replacement team from the very beginning. If I were SAC, I'd find a new ballpark in Brooklyn or upper Manhattan, and wipe the slate clean.
