  • In this video, I'm sharing what I do to my hair every evening while having in loose twists.
    Loose two strand twists are great for fine hair because it helps provide our hair with the illusion of thickness. The twists look much more full than when done tightly.
    In this video I'm on day 5 hair and as you can see the twists are holding up quite well.
    Notice my routine is quite more involved in the evening. My morning routine is a bit less involved as I need to get out of the house quickly.
    That's why I spend the time doing all my moisturizing, sealing, massaging and neatening of the twists at night.
    Here's my Daytime Routine for maintaining the loose twists:

    Thanks to TH-camrs like you I now know that most of my lifetime hair issues have to do with having very fine hair. Thankfully I have medium or greater than average density. But I always said my hair "cooks down like greens or cabbage." My hair can look like really "big hair" until you start messing with it. I can not achieve many of the styles demonstrated by natural TH-camr's. A twist out on wet hair is a complete disaster. Twist out on dry hair works way better but NEVER lasts. Just sleeping on my twists, whether covered or not, flattens and destroys all the volume. Tying my hair down makes it even worse. So I have to retwist in the morning which means I'm manipulating my fine hair all the time - and spending WAY to much time on hair. Thank you for the inspiration and for being there when I did a search on "twist out on fine hair." Your channel is just what I needed. BTW, honestly I like your edges even when they're not laid down. They look more natural to me. At least you have edges and a full hair line. Thankfully I do also (because I am very very protective of them), but many today do not.

      Shiva G 😂 greens
      Thank you. I do my edges differently all the time but honestly I get the best edges with gel. I just don’t like using it all the time

      I have the same issue!!! My twists will be so thick and plump but then be flat when I tie it down and I hate that. I can plump them with steam from the shower but that can make them frizzy.

    Hi Michelle. You have a pretty grade of hair. Mine is all messed up from medication. Besides I will be 65 in a few months. I have. been natural for about a year. I now have very, very fine, zing zag, coily, some natural straight hair. What a combo.

      Sharon Delancy hi, may I ask what medications messed your hair up? I take blood pressure medication and I've heard that the beta blockers aren't very good for hair. perhaps there are substitute medications that do not affect here that can be prescribed to accomplish the same thing.

      Sable 711. Oh my goodness. I take about 4 pills now. A water pill, high blood pressure bill (2).And a collestoral pill.

      Sharon Delancy Thank you. my moms hair sounds similar and she’s on meds too. What’s your diet like? I’m eating a ketogenic diet and it naturally improved my cholesterol sugar etc. I will be 50 in January and don’t take meds.Being able to eat lots of healthy fats and only vegetable carbs is amazing. It’s a very healthy way to eat too. If you consider it check out www.drberg.com and www.ketozone.com Lots of great information and they are physicians. I follow their advice Not what I see all over the web
      I also don’t eat pork

      Sharon Delancy I take the blood pressure pills to to include the fluid pill and one additional pill. important to make certain that your blood pressure medication is not one of those that can cause hair loss or thinning. there are different classes of blood pressure medications that will work just as well. so quickly they wanted to put me on a cholesterol medication but I refused and asked if I could try and diet control first and probably drop some pounds. scared to get it checked now because I've not been so successful at dropping the pounds though I don't eat too terribly bad. I do realize that sometimes it's just hereditary and you can be thin as a bean and eat healthy all the time but still not be able to control it.

      Sharon Delancy oh I also take a lot of supplements so many that I'm concerned that Physicians don't know whether or not any could harm me and by the same token don't suggest more natural things that can accomplish the same thing they want to accomplish.

    Hi Michelle, sorry if you've already said it in a previous video, but will you be doing a detailed tutorial on your process for your loose twists? If not, how many sections do you usually part your hair in and how many twists do you do per section? (I also have fine hair and I tend to do six sections with four twists per section but my hair just looks skimpy. Maybe I'll try fewer twists) I'm actually really finding this little mini series very helpful and maybe you could also do a video on a few styles for loose twists.

      Arizmea hi 👋🏾
      Actually I was planning to do a tutorial next wash day but think it may be weekend after next.
      I did about 40 twists here but I’m going to make them a little smaller next time around so I dont have to retwist any.
      They key is to do them loose so they plump up giving you the appearance of more volume. I will show exactly how I do them plus what I use

    Thanks so much love all your videos. My hair is very dry and I have been sick for a long time and neglected my hair so need to cut off like 4 inches and will definitely try this combo. I especially want to start using oil massages and mane choice moisturizer =)
    Also this might be weird but whats the name of the background instrumental music it started after 2minutes into your video I wanted to use it for a slide show I'm doing but don't know the name lol thanks

      :) I got that song from TH-cam. I am not about that "pay for songs life" I know some bigger TH-camrs do it but I aint that big and my money is allocated LOL!
      On a more serious note, I'm sorry to hear you've been sick. Hair definitely takes a back seat when you aren't feeling well. I think twists, loose or otherwise (or maybe even braids) are good to help get your hair out of the way.

      @@FineNaturalHairandFaith Thanks soon much dear, I don't have good experience with twists it just unravels so fast so prefer loose braids but for now just doing loose bun. I get bad headache so try to do the least manipulation as possible but I'm trying to get back on it! Love your channel by the way

    • @FineNaturalHairandFaith
      @FineNaturalHairandFaith  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you. try just a little braid at the root and then twist the length, twirling the ends. That should help prevent the unraveling. Some even put a rubber band at the root and then twist. I don't both because I'd have to just cut them out so they don't break my hair

    Would you recommend the Mane Choice Sealing cream? My hair is not fine, but I am looking for a good cream to layer for my LCO moisturizing routine I am going to mini twist my hair after my next wash routine because loose twists like yours wouldn't last long for my density and current length.

    • @FineNaturalHairandFaith
      @FineNaturalHairandFaith  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kristell Stone yes! That cream is actually kind of thick.
      You could totally do loose twists. You’d do them smaller and twists right at the root and ends. I actually first saw this style done by Urban Bushbabes and they have tons of hair. Of course it takes longer the more hair you have.

    Hi Michelle, why loose twists? Curious if it's to keep manipulation to a minimum? I ask because I notice when i re-twist, and I do it tightly, I tend to end up with some shedding at the end. I tend to be a little 'heavy' handed and maybe need try looser twists. Except my hair is not as long as yours so hopefully the results will be good.

    • @sable7114

      Stephanie Morris I know she will answer you soon but I think I would use loose twists if I had find here for the coverage or to make it look more full. I Loosely braid my hair for a more full look.

    • @FineNaturalHairandFaith
      @FineNaturalHairandFaith  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get a little shedding with tighter twists too and much less when I do them looser. You can’t leave these in too long though it your hair can begin to loc
      I like looser twists for the fullness mostly and you can do them very fast

      S. Jones in done with indigo lol that second step is so annoying and time consuming. I still have some so I will definitely use it up. Just planning to not use often. I do use henna though. That’s a staple
