- I'm trying to play some basslines of les claypool. I'm playing a very nice carl thompson tribute rainbow bass made by adam stone of adamstonebasses.com. I hope you like it...

thanks. i think bob is, beside of mud, one of the strangest and coolest bass lines I've ever heard. and actually it's not very difficult to play. just practice a little...

Yeah, I completely agree, Bob is probably one of my favorite Primus songs. I just lack the proper 6 string fretless bass to give that true "Bob" sound. You really can't replicate it on a 4 string fretted...

I’m not only impressed that you can play these songs this good but that you have what certainly is either a authentic Carl Thompson or a replica so close there’s no way to tell the difference. In either case that is one beautiful bass and it’s tone is unreal.

@ishowedittoher thanks!!! i run direct through an tech amp sansamp bassdriver di and a korg ax 3000b... on stage i use a warwick hellborg preamp and a mackie frs 2800 poweramp. but i think the key to sound like mr claypool are emg pickups...
I always liked mrs.baileen and that album in general. Southbound pachyderm sounds just like meddle by floyd. Great playing! My 12 year old son is just getting into Primus. I told him his job now is to spread the word and show his buddy's.
