Searching for the perfect halo diamond ring can be frustrating.
I love when women are really specific when it comes to their rings, taking time to find the halo engagement ring that will best suit them. But sometime it can feel overwhelming. In this video, I discuss an email received from a client expressing her frustration on finding the PERFECT halo ring.
There's always a big difference when buying a seamless halo ring online, at local store, chain store and, of course my specialty, going the custom route. One thing often seen on halo rings is the center diamond is set too high above the halo, making the gap too obvious. The goal is usually to have a seamless halo diamond ring. A seamless halo on diamond ring can maximize the look of the diamond, but not if it’s done incorrectly.
If the size of the halo on a seamless halo engagement ring is too big or too small for the center diamond, the proportions will look off. Also, the fit of the halo against the center diamond is key on a Halo engagement ring.

I never heard of halo or split shank until this month when I saw a round blue fancy 💎 with a cushion cut halo and the shank is split in four with pave at a local jeweler. It is gorgeous.

Love your rings and videos! What size mm halo stones would you recommend for a 2 carat round center being set into a cushion halo for a pendant? is 1mm too small? 1.3? 1.2? thank you for your advice :) I made the exact mistake you spoke of...putting too large halo stones on my ring and don't want to make that mistake again.
Michael Gobbo Thank you! Around 1.2-1.3mm depending on what provides the best fit to allow them to be super close together.
Round diamonds don’t come in a standard millimeter size across the board based on the carat weight because it depends on how well it’s cut. There are ideal measurements of course, but not all round 2 carat diamonds have the same width, so I custom make each halo to fit tightly next to the center to avoid gaps.
On occasion I will set 1.1mm if a client wants it super petite.

Hi, i love your knowledge and how you explain it in your videos. ❤Can you pls suggest me what cents/mm of diamonds should be used in halo for a 2 carat each stud? Also is it possible to get the halo as detachable jacket but with the same seamless finish as it in attached low seamless setting? Or the detachable would always have the gap?
Lastly, i dont want the martini setting as my earlobes are thin and it makes them droopy. What’s the best setting that you’d suggest for everyday wear? Basket? Or any other?

What size halo stones would you put around a 1.5 carat (7.25 mm x 7.3 mm) round diamond for an engagement ring? What would be proportional for that size 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, something else?
Every ring is slightly different and requires unique measurements. We determine the ideal diamonds measurements around the center stone once we are creating the computer rendering of each design. Thank you for watching my videos!
