My first flight was with KQ from JKIA in Nairobi to Heathrow airport in London. It was a very smooth flight. Congratulations our senior pilot. Happy retirement when the time comes.
I’m not kenyan but the pilot is so humble and always to the point. Congratulations 🍾🎉🎈🎊 our African Pilot, I wish u can be recognized for such an achievement.
I've listened to many pilot interviews, whenever I've had time for myself, being an aviation enthusiast. However, God made Cpt Kinuthia for a whole lot reason. God Bless U Sir as you approach your official retirement soon. Success all the way humble fellow Kenyan gentleman
Congratulations captain kinuthia,we Kenyan we are proud of you ,you ve stood for our country Kenya in many occasions and selling our country in Europe,,may GOD give you strength and wisdom in your carrier ,I used to serve you in Mombasa beach hotel during your stop over enroot to Heathrow airport in England
Let Me Say Captain Stephen Kinuthia is a Great, Humble, Wonderful Captain As I Say Congrats 2 Kenya and America 4 The Direct Flights as Kenya Will Reap Big Thru God's Mighty Blessings.
Congratulations Captain...in your speech your intelligence speaks for itself. You deserve this honor KQ did a great thing to pick you! What a way to celebrate you for the time you have dedicated to KQ...especially as you retire
flying part didn't got my attention like to find out that buda yuko na ka 65...tafathalini vijana tujiangalieni, some of us r between 25 and 30 but almost look like the captain here..anyway congrats to Mr kinuthia
Such great people like captain kunitoa should be the ones honoured by the govt with precious awards not some other funny characters that we see around.
Not too long ago the age of 62 was the retirement age for airline pilots. The age was extended until 65 mostly due to medical advancements and recognition that older pilots with experience are well qualified. However, it is my understanding that the first officer must be of a younger age as a compensating factor.
Thank you for this interview. Now we know we have qualified pilots. Experts are never featured. The press has only been featuring "The lady who will fly 787 from NBI to JFK". Kenyan media love to highlight "kenyan flying girls". With horror stories of two girls flying low into the mountains. Believe it or not, people trust a man in control more. You will have more customers because of this interview.

My aunt started ✈ in the 90tis from kenya to italy it was news...still today am shoked that africans we can still make headlines just bcoz we have a bus that goes from kisii to mombasa one way non stop...just bcoz no driver or bus did that...wazungu wanatushangaa sanaa!... When will africans and africa grow??
U missed the point.... The whole big deal about this is simply marketing the route, KQ knows who is likely to fly that route and has drummed the news non-stop so they can get enough business. From the surface it might look like it's celebration of a new route but underneath it is all marketing... pretty smart if you asked me.

40 years plus of experience yet speaks so humbly, kudos Captain Joseph Kinuthia .

You're just a chauvinist. An experienced pilot is an experienced pilot, irregardless of gender.

Nice feature. However, it would've been better with the actual 787 cockpit footage and not the E190 one as shown.
