Highly recommend Paulie B mate. Real honest interviews with some incredible photographers that’s all about the art. No pushing courses or selling toys!
Wow, such a great video from Greg. Straight talk, no fancy accessories or equipment, just a camera he knows and loves plus a couple of lenses and an iPhone, working with his subject to co-create and boom, achieved an overnight success (that took him around 45 years of perfecting his craft). Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us I such a simple and unpretentious way Greg, really enjoyed this video!
10/10 🎥🎬🇮🇹👍🏼👍🏼 I came to NYC in 2003 & did fashion advertising in that brilliant city professionally for 15 years straight before leaving to move to making films .. everything Greg is saying in this segment is DEAD ON TRUE. WOW ! What a guy ! Go Greg for staying true to the ART & not getting lost. Brilliant.
This was amazing to watch. Thank you Greg for everything you do. I've been doing photography a whopping week now (brand new) - and thanks to your course and videos like this, I feel I already have much of the foundation to head in the right direction 🙏Your videos take subjects that most others make VERY complicated, and make them VERY easy for anyone to understand and apply. Much thanks
I really, really enjoyed your post, Greg. I'm glad that there is someone else in the world who had a terrible time in school but was a very good, young photographer! It paid off!! Keep more videos coming! Joe
Nice to see that you are commited to 28mm and q3. Lot of your photos are BW, I wonder what are your thoughts of Leica monochrome series? I use q2 mono every day for last year for BTS shots on corporate photo/video sessions, and materials are very well accepted. Im thinking of second M monochrome body with 50 or 75mm. Your explanation on distance for portraits and full body is very helpfull. Speed for me is crucial, since Im doing classic colour headshots at the same time. Thank you for great tips and content!!
Bravo Greg! Your work is beautiful and I’ve got to say - your G GRIP is by far the best camera accessory for an iPhone. I’ve tried many of the others and they don’t even come close to the G Grip!
Loved this Greg! More of this type of thing would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼. Or maybe a video showing an entire shoot start to finish( actually editing) would be good. You’re a HUGE inspiration, you take the best pictures without all the usual photography bullshit!!
Such a honor, Greg on TH-cam! I notice couple of people ask about the focusing method he uses, and since he said 1.7-2 meters, I’ll assume he’s manually set up focus. But still is going to be very helpful if this question is answered by Greg. Also common guys, should the video on the SL 2, not on Greg’s daughter iPhone 12 🤭!
I just enrolled in your courses and so far I really feel good about the decision. There are ingredients that make a great photo that go far beyond any technical aspect and hearing those is like gems. Thanks a lot
@@fletchchannel770 well so far I’m just doing the candid one but for that one I think so. There’s not hours and hours but what’s there is really valuable and I think I like that better
Loved it! I got your Photo Breakdowns book to prepare for a photo shooting with Armand Assante and it helped a lot! I don't think I could have gotten the results I got and this helped my career and self confidence greatly! Thank you!
LOVE your Book, and in fact ordered another copy for my photographer son. You talk about a "tiny" Fuji Flash. The only one I know of, the EF-X8, does not fire on my Leica Q3, or Q2. Kindly tell us which flash works? Thanks ... learned a Lot from your book! I tend to always shoot wide open with my Q's ... good to learn that you DON'T! :-)
the Godox Junior is a good alternative to the FUJI EF-X20. Uses the same two AAA batteries. And it does have a simple Auto mode - if you fix your Aperture and Iso to F2.8 IS0100 (or its equivalent exposure - i.e. Iso400 at F5.6)
I was able to buy a cherry Fujifilm EF-X20. I'm hearing from folks that it's Very Slow. I believe they mean in terms of recyclings. How are YOU able to work with a slow flash?!
Is there any chance your assistant could share his workflow and tips? I did your professional photography course which led me to finishing a masters degree in photography. I would like to see more of the editing process and the technical aspects of your great photos. Cheers!
Great video, thank you very much! Unfortunately my question didn’t make it. Maybe here in the comment section. I own a Q3 myself, and would be really interested in which focus mode you’re using for your pictures and shootings. I transferred from Canon a couple of months ago, and kind of struggle with that change.
Absolutely love your work, It was an honour to do a review video for the G-Grip last year, definitely need to do an updated version as I have used it everyday since for all phone photography and people need to be aware of the power that thing has when paired with a S23 Ultra! your art is incredible and what an accomplishment to work with the big leagues!
Saying a leica is the best camera is a wild take. Maybe in the film days they were. And I'll give that the lenses are insanely good, but the bodies are not the best
I'm not saying that a Leica is the best camera, but have you ever tried a SL2 or SL2S with one of the APO primes? The image quality is so crisp and clean, it is unreal. They also handle extremely well, with buttons in the right places and a grip that feels secure and comfortable, despite the weight.
Just bought the ggrip. What a waste of money. Not sure who is handling the drop shipping for you but it certainly is not helping your online reputation. I am sure you take good photos, but your products suck.
I beg to differ about the iPhone being better than any other camera in the price range. iPhones are like $1500, you can literally buy a super good setup for a REAL camera at that price. I'm actually appalled that you would even say something like that. Phone have no depth of field, no swapable lenses, and the zoom is all digital. You, in all your condescending glory, have steered people completely wrong with that comment. Imagine if you will, trying to explain to somebody how to properly frame a photo when they're used to framing in a device that makes everything sharp foreground and background. You might as well have said that people should get a GoPro instead of a real camera. This advice is laughable at best.
Ggrip is great. I take a lot of photos when out with the dogs. 2 leashes in one hand, iPhone in the other. So much easier with the ggrip attachment. Excellent design. @gooddogsnyc
Alan Schaller and now Greg uploading regularly is the best thing for people like me who live and breathe photography whenever time allows it.

@@chrisjparkinson Thank you for the recommendation! Will check him out.
100%… and lovely thing they aren’t doing gear reviews lol
Really enjoying listening to a great pro photographer who isn’t up their own arse or obsessed with gear and technical rabbit holes 👍

And ... what Mode and settings do you use the EF-X20 flash? Since it doesn't have TTL metering ?
Legend Greg. Love your charisma. Big inspiration to my photography. Thanks

Some Leicas feel awkward to me due to lack of a grip. How do you navigate that? Thank you.
Thank you, Greg much respect!
Does the G-grip. Works on s21ultra.
i have the fuji flash and i didn't realise until this video how much they were going for haha!
I have the same flash too and I didn’t know this was the reason the price went up 😂 luckily I bought it for cheaper tho

Ah ... the X20 ... :-(
If I'm going to spend $450 for that flash, used ... can I be assured it works on my Qs ... if the EF-X8 won't fire?

I like how you grabbed your assistant by the ear like a naughty dog.
17:20 "Feels and shoots like a (leica) camera" lol
cool. nice work
Have you ever played around with the Godox Lux Junior on your Leica q3 or q2?

Would you shoot film again if they brought back Kodachrome?

Yes. A wild take.
Just say "FOR ME it's the best camera" and everybody can live with it.
