Half the people in these comments don't realize that he's not talking about the standard Four Roses Single Barrel. He's talking about the Four Roses Single Barrel - Barrel Strength. My local grocery store here in Chicago just got about 20 bottles of this as a store pick. They are marked at $80. They are 48-2 J. OBSQ. 10 years, 7 months. 115 proof. Picking one up today.
The standard four roses scared me away from FR when I first started getting into bourbon. Then I tried small batch and single barrel, and really started to like the profile, although I'm really liking wheated bourbons
I went to Woodford today… got my “unicorn!” Double double oaked… and it came with… a wheat whisky bottle in bond… and… their toasted oak four grain! Gotta love gift sets! Cheers!
I’ve got an OESF and OESO. They’re the only two bottles of these I’ve seen in four years in my area, so I buy them if I see them every time. Love four roses.
I have 2 in my cabinet right now! I only know about these bourbons because of you, having been so excellent describing notes, tastes, history etc that every time you suggest one, it's something I wind up absolutely loving. This 4 Roses and Blue Note Uncut are definitely my 2 favorites so far. Keep up the great work Brewzle!!
It’s soo weird I watch this channel and live in ct and so many of the “unicorn” bourbons are just found on the shelf most places. Four roses single and cask strength is common. Blantons I see most stores near msrp. Eagle rare and Col Taylor’s can be found after stopping at a couple shops. Basic buffalo trace is as common as Jack Daniel’s. Wellers I see a lot of. The real high end buffalo trace is hard to find like it is everywhere but you see a lot of good stuff on shelves. This is what I commonly see whenever I go to a package store which to be honest is only a couple times a year but always can find one of the above mentioned.
I learned about barrel strength whiskey about five years ago and I’m totally here for it. Not only do you get a more intense flavor but you also are forced by the high abv to drink it slowly making you enjoy it more and less likely to overindulge. Plus it’s a lot of fun bringing one to a party and jokingly question my friends manhood for not being able to handle the high proof lol.
I really miss the Four Roses Limited Edition Single Barrels they used to do in addition to the limited edition small batch. They were so tasty, especially 125th anniversary
Been lucky enough to stumble into 4 of these, all different recipes. Hoping to grab all of the rest some day and have a bunch of folks over for a serious tasting.
Four roses single barrel is the MVP. Its ALWAYS good, never bad, and a lot of the time its actually great. Its affordable and better than a lot of overpriced bourbon. $36-$46 and it tastes better than most.
I bought two of these back in Jan. 2020 because it was the beginning of C19 and wanted to be safe, not from covid, but from being able to have bourbon on hand in case of lockdowns. First bottle lasted about a week. I still have not yet opened the second because the first was sooo good. My bottles are from warehouse SN and bottle no. 87-6L. If I remember correctly I paid $45 a bottle back then. 👍🥃
Roses is a legacy distillery that gets criminally overlooked. Plus they were owned by Seagrams for decades so they know as much about rye as MGP. I’m surprised you don’t see any ryes coming out of there
These are some of my favorite bottles. I travel a lot for work and have been lucky enough to have 6 store picks. I found the 2023 limited edition in California. I haven't opened it yet,but 4 roses is probably my favorite.
I don't have a unicorn, I don't drink bourbon, I hate hard liquor, but I love watching your videos! I am learning alot though! Your delivery is so funny!
Yah I’ve had it. And, it’s very very heavy. It’s definitely a harsher whiskey then I tend to prefer. Although, I’m not a sophisticated drinker or one that has a refined pallet. I’m more of a grab a bottle of buffalo trace or Evan Williams and make a whiskey sour/old fashioned kind of guy.
Love seeing you so passionate about whiskeys. I enjoy whiskey, but usually just stick to two or three regular picks for my self. You make me want to get into the collecting game more
We drank our grandfather's Four Roses back in the late 60's and 70's. It was rot gut back then. My grandfather had a shot of Four Roses and a raw egg every morning. It was his drink of choice. He was a WWI mule skinner, a South Texas rancher, and the meanest man alive. He would be 130 years old this year. Four Roses has come a long way over the years.
I think there’s a difference between regular Four Roses Single Barrel and the “Private Selection Barrel Strength” (also single barrel). Here in Ohio the single barrel is around $50 and the PSBS is not stocked usually from what I can find but MSRP is a little over $70. Single barrel is pretty good to me but the Private Selection Barrel Strength is one of the best I’ve had
OF birthday bourbon. I might be able to actually get a bottle this year with the new format. However if we are talking any bottle....for me it's King of Kentucky.
I love whiskey, I love bourbon but I'm not looking at what barrel or level that barrel was on or what the mash is. It's all good in it's own way. That's what's great about it, is there is no wrong way to make or age it. It's all different barrel to barrel
Love the 4 Roses Single Barrels, although I don't have that particular bottle. I probably wouldn't be able to pick apart the flavor profile differences...but I'd be willing to try!
2020 WLW. I had it at a bar. Best bourbon I’ve ever had. I don’t even tater for Buffalo Trace outside of Stagg Jr. But BTAC is legit and 2020 was an outstanding year.
Open it. Enjoy some. Share some. Life is too short and there's always more rare bourbon. If something tragic happens and you bite it before opening he gonna whoop ya at the pearly gates
We got some decent stuff for just recently collecting. 2 Elmer’s, 2 Blantons, a four roses single barrel, a few eagle rares, Buffalo trace, willet, Basel Hayden toast, EH Taylor, and some Chattanooga whiskeys plus a few more bottles
Dudes wholesome AF 🔥
Thanks Joel!

The standard is still pretty damn good though, especially for the price. And the small batch is my favorite “standard” bourbon for an old fashioned.
Jewel did this?

I keep it on hand! Had it when we visited The Bourbon Trail and it became one of my favs, if not my favorite.
Four roses store picks are insanely good. Great bang for the buck!

Definitely my top 10
4 roses small batch select is one of my favorites
I am a fan of all things four roses. Small batch used to be my go to. I think I’ll have to revisit the whole lineup.
I really miss the Four Roses Limited Edition Single Barrels they used to do in addition to the limited edition small batch. They were so tasty, especially 125th anniversary
That's a deal!!! Four Roses is great to begin with and I'll definitely be looking for that!!
Field of Dreams Bourbon - Batch 1
The single barrel strength 4 roses are some of my favorite bourbons I have 4 different mash bills at the present time
Tier 6 in the rickhouse and 11 years is pretty crazy

The OESV is one I'm still looking for, the higher rye OBSV is fantastic! Cheers!
I absolutely love that bottle and buy it every chance I get for under 100

Honestly I almost copped one of these too yesterday!! I’m going right back to pick it up now!
Same! I was looking at new bottles and left this just sitting there!
Cries in Canadian. As a whiskey person, I'll never get to try anything, unless I go to the states.
Any Canadian stuff we are missing out on?
I found a bottle randomly at a Kroger on a random plastic shelf. This was three years ago before I knew anything about Brewzle or bourbon.

I just won a bottle of this at a Christmas party at work. Mine is batch 43-1T. It is so flavorful
Four Roses Single Barrel is one of my tops. That, along with Knob Creek Single Barrel.
I would recommend adjusting the focus of the video, never saw the actual label since it was blurry. But I know what it is
Single Barrel Barrel Proof in the OESV is amazing. OBSQ is quite delicious as well. Its the high rye ome
I'm so glad to see you like 4 roses! It's my absolute go to. Is there anything better?
Def one of my favorite bottles of bourbon! Thanks for the vids! You had me out last week in search of Red Breast 12. Love it!
Try the cask strength version if you can find it. Similar flavor, but more intense. And it’s not chill filtered so it’s less watery feeling.
