The band is called Hanggai. The intro of this song is called 呼麦(pronounced like who my) which is the same technique used in Tengeri's Heaven. It's a traditional Mongolian vocal skill. As far as I know, it's a skill that singer can make two sounds at a time and the two sounds are both controllable.
WOOOOOOOW just WOW . Beatiful amazing Mongolian song and performans. I love this song . OMG. Just woooooooow. 👏👏👏👏👏🇲🇳🇲🇳🇲🇳🇲🇳Im from Mongolia. Oh miss you now mongolia och so nice song. Thank you so much . Wondelful reaction soooooo super👏👏👏👏👏🤩
Damn! I got chills! They merged traditional instruments with metal... I'm so down! Their voices were incredible! I love all types of music and languages and instruments. Thanks for sharing!
This is Inner Mongolia song Not Mongolian song Because Mongolia 🇲🇳 speak 🗣 Russia 🇷🇺 ,Mongolian people in the out Mongolia 🇲🇳 don’t speak Mongolian over 85 years old
Saw them live few years back in Austria. They are amazing..:) Listen Xiger Xiger from them. Guy who plays the Horsehead fiddle is combining throat and overtone singing and in this song you can hear it even better..;) It's pretty impressive.
Now we are almost enf of June 2020, so a year later from your reaction. I have discovered Hanggai a week ago with this song. I am loving it, listen to it all the time and a bot of Dimash of course. lol Makes me happy that you love it
Hi coach, always enjoy your reaction! You got it right that they ARE the same ethnic group as Tengger belongs to. But more stunning fact is they made/created this song including lyrics just within 24 hours due to the rule of competition. Thinking again, the quality of a song came from just 24 hours. It's speechless.
Nice reaction. The guy on left with the beanie is doing high register, the big guy in middle is doing mid and the one playing the horse head fiddle is doing baritone.... they are a perfect combination.
Mongolian throat singing is a traditional vocal practice passed down generation to generation. Not commonly heard in Western music, but if you are familiar with Pentatonix and their original bass singer Avi Kaplan, he would use it occasionally in their music. It's also called polyphonic singing or overtone singing. There are multiple notes being sung by one person. Great reaction and I love the enthusiasm you have with spreading the joy that comes from music and singing.. Been singing for most of my life and I love all types of music. Their isn't a style out there that I haven't been able to find something I enjoy.
This is called tuvan throat singing they are singing overtone two to three notes at the same time tuvan throat singing was invented before thre was language in mongolia i believe this is the xoomei type
GREETINGS FROM SUNNY MONGOLIA bruv both Tengri and Hanggai are Mongolians well Inner Mongolians. If you want to learn and listen about this kind of music search for khusugtun band and huumii is the double vocal sounds that you hear in the beggining of the video so search for huumii as well. And please react to them.
I found this some years ago on TH-cam. That thing they do with their voice is called throat singing, or overtone singing. This mixture of traditional Mongolian, and modern rock may have been invented by these guys. They sing this again in the finals, and that judge dressed in black, with the big scarf, the one who stood up, he sings with them, and holly molly does that guy have a spectacular voice, If you have not seen that performance, look for it! I agree with you that this is extremely powerful, and visceral style.
I'm so thankful for the internet and videos downloaded and reacted. It is really bring me to different music dimensions of happiness and understanding. I start to appreciate different musics, cultures and traditions.... Thank you.
The singing method at the beginning of this song is called Khoomei (呼 麦). As you said, it's the samething with Tengger's 《Heaven》. It is funny that Tibetan monk use a similar technique when they reading the Buddhist texts. (th-cam.com/video/brm2a8zmGYM/w-d-xo.html)
At the beginning, that skill is called HuMai,which is a person make two different voices at same time, one voice is a low tone, and other one is high pitch.

Oh, yes, Hanggai. I stumbled upon them some years ago, when TH-cam offered me a video called "Tuvan Throat Singing". I had never heard of that before and was really blown away by what these guys can do with their voices. So I searched some more videos and soon came across Hanggai and their mix of musical styles. Absolutely great. If you're interested, here is the first video on tuvan throat singing I watched back then. It's in a traditional style, so no hard rock influences there. But much more of that throat singing. And no, there are no flutes in this song, and no multiple voice tracks (as far as I could find out): th-cam.com/video/qx8hrhBZJ98/w-d-xo.html And here's a second one from the same guy (Saydaş Monguş). At about 1 minute 28 seconds he produces the deepest tones I've ever heard from a human voice. And his friends do some very nice singing, too... th-cam.com/video/enTu9G6a6ok/w-d-xo.html
this is throat singing, which was found in Altai region. it is common for Tyva, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Yakutia countries. It is an Inner Mongolian band of China. What they using is a traditional singing skill called 'Tuvan throat singing'... its Chinese name is 'Humai' or 'Huumii'.
Apparently there is no singers with in Mongolian. They have only warriors who sing war songs, when you hear them from afar, better start to run because when they finish singing, they will gather in attack formation on their horses and start to charge. What you are going to face is the arrows rain and been stump deep in to the ground. Run, don't stop, don't look back.
let me tell you one more thing... this show is a challenge that to write/ compose a song within 24 hours. So... the song you just listened was done in 24 hours and it is not one of the best songs of the band's (Hanggai).
I was hoping you reviewed this th-cam.com/video/wFCzOeWRpPk/w-d-xo.html, instead of this. Would love to hear your comment on the Chinese singer at the later end of the song.
3:19 I almost spilled my coffee because of that woman. Wow, she's not impressed at all... :,-) I genuinely can't figure out wether she's being sarcastic or is just tired.
He is a male artist...and their mentor. I think he has heard before the performance and was hoping them to perform perfectly. Liu Huan is his name and he sang the theme song at the Bejing Olympics opening ceremony.
Hi Frank, i wanna raise a point for you the better understanding the different Chinese ethnological culture or music. You know this point even many Chinese people do not understand this. First, the present differentiation for different race in based on the western theory, but it quite could not fit in Chinese situation. There are only two major races in China, one is "nomadic descendant", another is "agricultural descendant". these two group of people fight and reconcile, and this process keep repeating for more than maybe...2500years or even more. So....its pretty hard to say, you are 100% Han, cuz we are not think about this by blood, and even there is not 100% pure blood. The cycle is, the old nomadic people went south become the new agricultural people, then the new nomadic people went south become another new agricultural people. The migration might be war or just simply immigration. You know... before Mongolian...there were so many "Nomadic races"...live in today's we call it Mongolian, and inner Mongolian those places " today...these places and these group of people called Mongolian is because the western invasion and 2nd world war, the moralization or "invasion" stopped this cycle, btw within this there many controversial issues. So...you know this problem about self-identification still pretty mess up in nowadays China and Mongolia. So people see this might disagree, but plx plx plx, please look back, and read. And, the way or cirtria for our ancestors to identify who are same with us, who are different with us were quite different with Western value. They (ancient Chinese) use value (your opinion about many things; for example: human right, equality, etc.'but of course, not today's value, cuz their value at their time is legitimate is logical, but today many are old..dated) So, you know today's Chinese, many of them are confuse on their recognition, the western value was rooted in many people brain...but you know, more and more people receive better education, and learn more information about our past, so more and more people started to change their thought. Hope this could provide you some little information for understand the different Chinese art.
