    I love the Rekluse clutch on my RMZ450. It changes a motocross bike into an awesome all around bike and in my case that's exactly what I needed. I ride dunes, single track, slick rock, desert and everywhere in between and with the Rekluse I can do it all so much better.

    I've got the revloc dyna ring on mine. Only just recently fitted it and i think rekluse bought the rights to it or something and added there touches but my issue now would be where would i get mine resurfaced 😢. Obviously it doesn't need it yet but still.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Honestly, I'm not very familiar with the Hinson BTL and I don't know anyone personally that uses one. However, we have several riders using the Rekluse auto clutches here at Rocky Mountain and they've all been very happy with the performance and benefits~Chase

    I have a friend with an amputated left leg and a left hand that he can’t squeeze with. Is there a solution for him such as an electric shifter component? Also, my understanding is you still need to pull the clutch handle one time to put it in first gear, how could he do this? Can an electric reverse gear work with this? How does neutral work?

    Does the exc disc ever need to be replaced due to wear ?because it has fibers on the outer case of it

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      BAMF_Ben_Allen yes, the fibers on the disc do wear out and it needs to be replaced at some point. As to when, I that would be a question for rekluse.

    What's the difference between the prominently displayed red and purple springs?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The small colored springs change the RPM at which the clutch begins engaging.
      The larger pressure plate springs (some models) will change the clamping force on the clutch pack and affect the stiffness of the lever pull.
      Hope that helps!

    Hi, I would like to get back into cruising again I am 64 I have ridden Harleys most of my adult life and now have extreme arthritis in my left hand and wrist. I can not even pull my sons Electa Glide handle in at all. Which one of these clutches would you recommend to a geezer with no more strength left in his left hand? I can cross over with my right hand and shift into 1st gear to start, but after that........
    I have been looking also at the sic shops reduced pull clutch lever. went from a 16# pull down to a 7# pull. Are you familiar with these? If so do you think the combo may get me back in the saddle again? Thanks a bunch. Mike

    • @rmatvmc

      Rekluse has clutch kits available for a wide variety of motorcycles. To see if Rekluse carries a kit for your bike you can check out their website and enter your bike at the top of the page to see all the products available for your specific machine. rekluse.com/

    If your bike came stock with a cable clutch, but you upgraded to a magura hydraulic clutch, could you still order just the standard Rekluse that was designed to fit a cable mechanism? Eg a DRZ400E fitted with the magura hydraulic conversion.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We use these on many bikes with hydraulic clutches, but to be safe, you may want to contact Rekluse just in case.

    Would you recommend the cx for a Ktm sxf 450 that is a little to strong for me to give it a little less bottom end power or does it no changes to the power?
    Bike is ridden on a mx track.
    sorry for my bad english.
    Greetz from germany

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't buy this clutch to try and mellow out the power of the bottom end. You can do that better with mapping changes. Or maybe you just have too much bike.

    • @skeezu9097
      @skeezu9097 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rmatvmc okay thanks but i think with this one i can fully concentrate on the power and my body Position instead of the Clutch Control. What do you think? 🤔

  • @heybulldog137
    @heybulldog137 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    With the wedges using centrifugal force, the harder you rip, the better the clutch bites, but, at lower rpm's does it tend to slip? Or does the power of the clutch suddenly come on when a certain rpm is hit? Like, nothing nothing...pow?

    • @eubikedude
      @eubikedude 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They feed in over a range of RPM. So it's not "POW" but very smooth engagement even with a full handful of wheel-lifting torque on e.g. a 1290, you don't even notice it, it's as smooth or smoother than a manual engagement.

  • @jackamansken
    @jackamansken 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So you can’t coast unless in neutral
    You can’t pull in the clutch and be underpowered
    There’s always power to the wheel unless I’m neutral ? Rite

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      you can still coast in gear just fine. If you pull in the clutch, it will disengage and you can modulate just like a standard clutch. The biggest benefit is when you're really lugging the bike (maybe in some tight, technical terrain) and you don't want to worry about stalling the bike, this is where it really shines.

  • @DMobley232

    Great Video! Very helpful, just what I was looking for especially after the technical trail that I just did that climbed 2150ft in 6 miles and full of rocks and boulders. I was struggling to keep my 17 KTM 250SXF from stalling. My question is, what are 1 or 2 of the cons or drawbacks to a Rekluse clutch?

      It will most likely increase heat a little since the clutches will be partially engaged more than usual. May increase oil change frequency due to my previous point? I could be wrong though.
