Steven, you probably have a long list ahead, but I feel it might be worth asking - one book that permanently changed my thinking at the age of 37 was "Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents" written by Dr Lindsay Gibson. I'd love your style of interview with her.

I am a football fan. So really enjoyed this episode. Also very clear that Steve has guest from all walks of life and there is a lesson to be learnt in every story. Its why the podcast does so well. Diversity. Not every episode is for everybody but its why the audience is so wide. There is episodes I thought id have no interest in and they are up there with some of my favourites. I give every episode a watch and always take away at least 1 gem.

My grandparents are from bootle and knew Jamies grandparents. Jamie's grandparents lived in maghull and my grandad used to give them a lift to a pensioners club. Every week his grandad would bang on about how 'our jamie' he's going to play for England, he's going to play for Liverpool. My grandad wasn't having it as he'd heard it all before and all parents and grandparents think their kids are going to do great things.
Anyway my granddad had a season ticket from the 1930s and a few years after meeting Jamie's family members he was there to see him score on his debut against Aston Villa. Much to the delight of my old grandad 😃

Brilliant show as usual. To answer Jamie's question about whether you can be described as patriotic towards your own city, you cannot. Patriotic derives from the Latin root word for 'father'. It is a love for the fatherland (meaning one's country). English lacks a word for love toward's one's city or hometown or home region. The Italians do have a word for love/pride towards one's hometown. They call it "campanilisimo".

Always liked Carragher as a player/pundit coming from a Liverpool fan. He spoke really well here. At the end he is a asked a question about does an uncomfortable situation bring out the best or worst in you? Now he spoke a lot to be fair about loosing and moments of when he lost and felt really down. So when answering this question he says that it brings out the best in him. He goes on to give an example and talks about compartmentalising and at around 1.33.35 if you pick up from there at 1.33.39 he says ''car'' just before the word 2compartmentalise. He is trying to find the word but uses a different word revealing a subconscious feeling..this is a classic Freudian slip. When he spat at that girl brought out the worst in him. I think thats his biggest regret because that could have been a career killer and he was lucky to come back from that. Most people don't bring up the ''Car'' incident. Anyway it's probably better not to because he still gets emotional about certain moments in his career that didn't go well and how he would over think things and struggle so that moment could have maybe made him feel like he should quit as a pundit. thankfully he didn't because I think he is really good on sky and Gary Neville is great but is starting to get on people's nerves a little bit. Carra was a great player, is a great pundit and all the best to him in the future..

@ 55:35 Steven “what is that?” Jamie “hmm I don’t know”…It’s energy! You can feel it but you can’t see it. As an energy healer/ spiritual success coach and Liverpool fan born and bred here, I know energy, everything is energy and Liverpool as a city and a club have a special energy that can’t be seen only felt! I’ve felt it from such a young age and Jamie is spot on in describing how it can be felt in the pitch and around the stadium etc

In my experience a great manager is somebody who you look up to like admire and most of all your manager is loved and respected by your rivals, you are proud of him.A great manager alway has a group of disciples who love and respect him protect him.A good manager hires experts in areas he is not good in and of course charisma

Admired JC`s sincerity and football knowledge. I would have paid for ringside seats to see Steven interview Brian Clough. The next best thing must be Roy Keane.

@@George-du9bf dude i know he ain't the greatest or even the most talented, but how many of these top players of all time have done anything for the team I support (LFC obviously). For the record, the other players who made me love footy were Maldini/Lucio/R9/Ronaldinho/Carra/Owen(fml) and then obviously Gerrard (but more later on)
