This is amazing, but it also shows the problem with bigger Lego ships: Putting more than single-digit cannons in a row makes the ship look too straight. Its impossible to get the correct curves.
I started off building on the pirate pre formed bases and they were not accurate enough so I designed my own keel. In minifigure scale the real ships are about 1.5M long so there are lots of parts..............I never really kept count, perhaps I should on the ones I am currently building.
