  • This is my review of the PAS3x. I talk about the sound, how to tell if it's a 3 or 3x, and many other fun and exciting topics.
I used this with my Dynaco ST70, Ideal Innovations Elite80, and Schiit Vidar.

Channel A/B in mono would be for use with two mono block power amplifiers. One amp for the right channel and one for the left. :)

I once assembled and used a PAS -3X in my stereo back in the 70s. I also had a lot of early stereo records. In the early 60s recording engineers often put individual voices and instruments entirely in one channel or another. This produced a very unnatural ping-pong effect. When playing back these records the stereo blend control is useful.

Tape head is to amplify a reel to reel recorder directly from the tape head. Some designs did not have their own built in. It should not be used as an Aux input without modification. The tape switch is for the tape inputs on the back of the preamp. It could be used for a cassette deck, RTR, or even as an Aux input.

All is has is RCA inputs, so one of the line level inputs, which I think is most of them.
