    not cool.
is also why the counterfeit market is so prolific.
    because of your inflated prices!

It's ironic that German WW1 and WW2 military uniforms and equipment is more valuable than the allied uniforms to collectors.

My German language teacher told me (in 1959) that he was never so glad to get rid of his helmet and rifle when he was taken prisoner in Furth, Bavaria. He said the sight of the Wehrmacht helmet sickened him. He would surely be confused by these collectors' items.

That doesn’t surprise me at all. But why he should feel sickened is beyond me. All he was doing was defending his country. The all consuming conscientious objector attitude of Germans is what sickens me. My mother is native born and raised German, having lived through the Hell in Germany during WWII. That said, I have several male German cousins who filed C.O. Status to avoid military service. My father, brother, and I were all career Army, and each served several overseas assignments to Germany, me alone having served 15 years in Germany. That pissed me off no end knowing that I was there protecting their asses instead of them doing for themselves. The Germans are pathetic anymore.

In both world wars, ancestors/ relatives of me died ( Artillry shells/ becoming ill in russian POW camp), in earlier wars i don' t know. I am 56 now, untrained and have Asperger disorder, in case of necessarity i would fight, because it is my duty to do so. But only for defending country and nation, not for defending our leaders, in the last two decades they betrayed the german people too much.

I absolutely love these videos, and I hope you will continue making them. And I think they may even draw new people into the hobby. So, I'm 16 year old boy from Norway, and I began collecting medals of ww2 in March 2017. Despite my short time in the hobby, I've already got to spot a few copies.Yet, my aim is not to brag, for I'm still relatively fresh in this field, and I''m just happy that I didn't fall for the items.

I had a decent hat and helmet collection in the 1970s that I got from vets and sold almost all the hats and helmets years ago. Now I'm afraid to get some helmets since there are people taking orig al helmet shells and making them look old. Thanks again.

Also m42s didn't have decals (mabye some super early production ones had 1) but the general rule is they didn't in fact it was often an order to remove decals from older helmets because they were a target. m40s occasionally had 2 decals and they are highly valuable.

Is the M45 legit? I have the M35, M40 and M42 helmets in different colors but have so far failed to locate anything on the M45. The only accounts that I've found said that it was simply a ventless M42. If it did exist it must have been a rushed production and release.

The m45 was entered into mass production, but was ultimately canceled because Hitler didn't like it (simple story). Of the ones made, you can find some pictures of soldiers using them, however they are very rare today. Most were likely made into pots after the war.

I'VE ALWAYS LOVED W.W. I GERMAN HELMETS. I ALWAYS SAY THAT I THINK THEY ARE THE COOLEST THING EVER TO BE DESIGNED TO BE PUT ON THE HUMAN HEAD ! I'VE BEEN COLLECTING FOR YEARS AND HAVE 25 W.W.I GERMAN HELMETS, ( I ALWAYS LIKED THEM BETTER THAN W.W.II HELMETS ) AND 20 W.W.II GERMAN HELMETS. NOW, MY QUESTION, I HAVE IN MY COLLECTION, THREE HELMETS THAT ARE " HIIGH VISOR " HELMETS. ALL ARE M16s, ALL ARE E.T.66 SHELL SIZE ( IF YOU PUT ONE OF THESE AND A REGULAR M16 OR M18 ON A LEVEL SURFACE BRIM TO BRIM, THE " HIGH VISOR'S " VISOR WILL BE HIGHER THAN THE REGULAR HELMET'S VISOR SO THAT YOU CAN SLIDE THE REGULAR KIND UNDER THE BRIM OF THE " HIGH VISOR ) ( THE REASON THIS CAN BE DONE IS BECAUSE THE " SKIRT " OR " APRON " IN THE HIGH VISORS ARE WIDER THAN STANDARD ISSUE HELMETS , SO IT RAISES THE BRIM. ( WHICH I THINK MAKES THEM LOOK EVEN COOLER ) I ALWAYS ASSUMED THAT THESE WERE VERY EARLY ISSUE, OR MABEY SEMI PROTOTYPE M16s I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION YOU MAY KNOW ABOUT THESE HIGH VISOR BEAUTIES. THANKS ! p.s. LOVE YOUR VIDEO'S !

I have a helmet similar to your WWI model, with a canvas strap. Can you identify that type?

Really awesome video. I’ve found a german Black firefighter helmet from the Tunisia campaign. I want to buy it but the antique store is asking for $600. I thought it was a little expensive. What do you think ? Thank you very much!

Black firemen steelhelmets had been used in rural West germany up to about early 70s. Similar looking Aluminium versions , in bright yellowish green had been common up to perhaps five years ago. Today firemens helmets basicly in same shape are still made from modern plastic, but no more very common.
