  • Wound packing is an essential skill for bleeding control. Tourniquets are great, but they don't fix every problem. They work great on arms and legs but uncontrolled bleeding in the junctions (places your body parts come together, armpits neck and groin) can only be stopped with good wound packing technique.

Thank you for this information! I’ve completed several advanced first aid courses and they have never said that regular gauze can be used to stop bleeding.

Additionally, Chitosan-impregnated gauze works EVERY TIME (when applied properly) and it is immune to the problems Quick-Clot (Kaolin) is susceptible to when faced with a hypothermic patient.

Thank you for this video...I have searched the internet to find the pluses and minuses to QuickClot vs Chito Gauze. Question; what do you think of burn creams? I have looked at getting some individual burn creams for my first aid kits. I've seen videos and articles that seem to go with a very simple approach of cool water and dry gauze. Thoughts? I tried searching your content for burn treatment videos.

First, are you still making the ASP kits?
